No complaints. They are next to village eye care. Prices are not set in stone, there is some wiggle room. You can check visionworks website to get an idea of what they have but I found a pair of sunglasses that were not online. Since I had some FSA funds I needed to spend, I got all the upgrades and options including insurance so will see if it was worth it. Costs do add up quickly so again I would advise to price things out online first. They are definitely not the cheapest place to get sunglasses but if you have a prescription even a slight correction needed such as me, they should be covered under a FSA or HSA plan. read more

Visionworks has become an overpriced insurance scam. Here is a true tale of two pairs of glasses purchased on the same day from two places... We have VSP (corporate vision insurance) and they own Visionworks after buying them a few years ago. Before the VSP buy-out we had good experience with VW and the VSP was pushing it hard with coupons and mailers, so we went back. Mistake. The pricing is crazy. The retail price for single vision glasses with run-of-the-mill frames was nearly $600 with pretty standard UV and scratch resistant coatings. We got a "great deal" at more than 50% off after insurance, but it still came to nearly $300. On the same day we bought a pair at Warby Parker in the Heights which cost $100 after insurance (with all the coatings and we even got transition lenses for that price, which the Visionworks did not have). Awful pricing aside, the staff at Vision works was disinterested, the frame selection is meh, the glasses will be ready sometime "in the next couple of weeks but they are running behind and we will let you know" and then we will have to drive back out to pick them up. (Oh, and the toilet is out of order "sorry.") Warby, by contrast, had incredibly helpful staff, better frame selection, was super efficient and got the glasses completed and sent to our door before Visionworks was ready for us to pick them up. And since WP has a buy-one, give-one program, they donate a free pair to people in need for every pair we buy. Did I mention that Warby was 1/3 the price? What if you do not like the glasses when they come in? Visionworks will let you trade them for something of equal or greater value (IOW you are stuck with VW). Warby gives you the option for a full refund in the next 30 days. Go to Costco. Go to Walmart. Go to Warby Parker. Go anywhere but here. Do not get sucked in by the VSP marketing. The good deal is not good. We will never be returning to this overpriced VSP place again. What a terrible experience. read more

My experience here was very pleasant. I like the wide variety of frames for men, women and children. There is definitely a frame to suit the most pickiest person. I chose a fashionable black frame that was light, so it wouldn't hurt behind my ears like my previous frame did. I got transitional lenses because I was tired of switching from regular to sunglasses. At first I was unable to see clearly out of my glasses because the reading line on my progressive lenses was too low. This caused Visionworks to redo the lenses. No problem at all. They took care of me! The staff was friendly and took their time getting my glasses right. When I picked them up 4 days later, it was like I had new vision. The reading line was raised, and I have had no problems with my glasses at all. I will definitely come back for my next pair. I really do like the prices, frames, and lenses this place has to offer. Although the Sugarland location is closer to me, I'm more familiar with the MCM store. As for frames, what's nice is that the selection ranges from old lady wear, fashionista, ugly, high end, cheap, it's a little of everything. And you can be an old lady like me and not get the old lady frames, my buttercup. The frames I had before lasted 3 years...could possibly have endured a few more years, but I was ready for a change. This included the cheap $60 frame I got and the CK brand. This time around, I got Valentino and some other $70ish brand. They have a lot to choose from for the lenses, I go midrange based on insurance, but there is something there to meet your need. As for customer service, they don't follow and give you suggestions, like they do at Lens Crafters...or tell you your face shape. That's fine with me, but that may not suit you. I like choosing frames with no pressure, hence my preference for Visionworks. The staff will find similar frames if you ask. The prices bring me in, the frames and lenses keep me in, and the ease of purchase brings me back. Maybe, one day I'll try the one at Sugarland, but I'm happy with this one, even if it means driving longer. read more

I am updating this review, Visionworks was recommended by an associate, I was not pleased with the service, everything went wrong, this was my first pair of glasses, I've had one pair previous almost 15 years ago, they helped it was a correction pair of glasses, but now with age my Vision is starting to fade away a little, I do need bifocals, light, and sun protection, and I can see far at a good distance, but long story short I am moving my original review, and giving a better rating because in the end Visionworks made things right, the manager for this store ( Fatima) was very polite and professional, when I spoke with her on the phone, she was courteous, polite, and professional, by the time we met her at the store she took care of our issue, and got what we were looking for, I am pleased with my glasses, and the performance! I visited the Visionworks Hedwig store to shop for new prescription sunglass lenses for my existing frames. The Optical Specialist was prompt and friendly and he asked to "build a profile" on me to facilitate a price quote. He entered my information into the Visionworks system. He also accessed my vision insurance information online without my knowledge. When he did, that "locked" my benefits and I was not able to access or use my benefits at another provider until that provider called my insurance company and spent a long time on hold to unlock my benefits. I ultimately bought my lenses from the second provider due to better price and reliabiity. If you get a quote at Visionworks, don't let them access your insurance benefits. read more

In a huff, I walked out of Visionwork's competitor's eyeglass store having already paid $55 for an eye exam even though I had insurance. But they couldn't confirm my insurance and told me to my face that my insurance company was closed on Saturday so they couldn't call. I got the same spiel on the eyeglass side as well. "We can't call your insurance provider today. They are closed on Saturday." I was told. I was pretty frustrated by then. I went to Visionworks ready to prove I was insured and related the whole experience I had with their mall competitor. The associate, Brendon, or Brandon - I don't completely recall - smiled and said "Oh, don't worry. We'll call them." "But...I was told they were closed and that you couldn't speak with them." He very calmly said "Just give me your basic information and I'll call." I wasn't totally convinced he would reach anyone - the other experience left me jaded. But hey, hope springs eternal. Sure enough. Brendon sat right across from me and called my insurance company and VERIFIED I WAS INSURED BY THEM. I was STUNNED that their mall competitor could make such a newbie mistake on both the examiner side and the eyeglass side. Brendon continued with his work and we quickly settled on a pair of glasses, lenses, coatings and tinting, etc. I promised him that both my wife and daughter would be coming by soon to purchase glasses or lenses very soon. Service was okay, friendly staff. The only bad thing I have to say is that they had a promotion of 2 pairs for 89.99 and once my mother picked the ones that she liked marked in yellow for the promotion, the person helping us scanned them and said one the frames was marked incorrectly. Instead of overriding them to correct their mistake my mom had to spend another 15 minutes looking for a different pair that she didn't like as much. Ruined the entire experience. read more

I lost my glasses somewhere between the first & second floor in our townhome. Seriously, where did they go? After a few days of searching, I threw in the towel & decided to get some new specs. This location is across from the hair salon that I use so I figured I would drop in. The two employees were busy with other customers but I was greeted upon arrival. I started looking at frames & grabbed a pair I liked. By this time the other customers were gone so I sat down with a very friendly employee. She mentioned that I could get a pair for free (yay!) so I got back up & picked out another pair of frames. No hard sale here with upgrades to the lenses. The transaction was completed & I was advised that my glasses would be ready within an hour since they had my prescription on hand. I had to head home so I told them I would pick up the next day. The glasses I was wearing were not only to big for my face, they were not attractive in fitting my face, and were NOT correctly done by vision source! Stay away!! I came in for my mother in law and sister in law to get new glasses. The staff was really friendly and helpful specially Cassandra C. We walked in with out a appointment, but were able to be squeezed in between patients with appointments. I thought we were going to take all day waiting, but to my surprise we were taken care of in less that 10 minutes. Both my sister and mother in law were explained in detail what was going on during their exam. Cassandra was really patient with us because we took a while trying different styles and brands to find the perfect fit. I appreciate that she gave us enough space to feel comfortable to look around, yet enough assistance to not feel neglected. I purchased several set of glasses from vision works (4 pair) and I damaged one pair and I had a warranty that allowed me to have them repaired for a low cost. they repaired that pair that was damaged however the technician put the left prescription in the right eye glass and the right prescription in the left eye. I didn't find this out until I made a yearly visit to my optometrist. I told vision work about there mistake and they refuse to correct there mistake. I refuse to do business any more with a company who is as petty as this. Instead of Vision works they should change there name to a real piece-of-work!!! read more

Beware, I ordered contact lenses from this location back in 2012 using my insurance benefits. They got my order messed up and I ended up with 3 boxes of contacts, one for one eye and two for the other. Also I ended up paying a lot even after my insurance. Not an issue since I learned my lesson and don't come here anymore. HOWEVER after making my yearly appointment at my eye doctor at another location, I went online to check my benefits only to find that Visionworks filled a claim on my insurance for glasses (I don't wear glasses, only contacts) last week. I am trying to get this situation fixed because it is going to screw up my benefits for my eye appoint and contacts next week. Still waiting for them to call back. They actually filed a claim on a product I didn't not order and have not even been in that place in over 6 years. This is insurance fraud read more

She didn't try to trick us with a bunch of over priced additions, she was honest about each one and gave us a great recommendation for the scratch resistant for my son.
