I went into Visionworks yesterday and made sure they had my insurance information, they spoke to my insurance company and I left. Today, when I went for my appointment, they told me they didn't accept my insurance, so I said to cancel the appointment and they responded that I owe them $25 for not canceling within 24 hours. Very unprofessional. Didn't even acknowledge customers as they walked in the door. Stood around for 10 minutes waiting for someone to free up so they could answer some questions and possibly sell me some glasses, however, they never did. After the third third customer came in without being acknowledged one of the lady said "oh, y'all need to sign in because we're really busy". I will not do business with this location and probably not with this company. A complete waste of my time. read more

Went in to get a pair of sunglasses fixed that needed notepads added. Steve assisted me and went above and beyond. The glasses nose rim was a bit challenging to adjust but Steve took his time to fix them for me and was very personable and friendly as well. Ive shopped for eyeglasses here in the past as well and have always had good experience. 5 stars for Steve for sure !! Thank you. read more

J-Lo (Jennifer Lopez), Supervisor, is a well-trained, very competent and highly professional licensed optician whose skills are among the best I have seen in the decades I have worn corrective lenses and visited optometry offices for care. She is not only highly skilled, but also has a bedside manner second to none. The office is spotless, well-organized with a highly professional atmosphere. J-Lo, as she is known, takes the time to help every customer, giving each her full, professional attention, providing a superior customer service experience for the patient. I had technically difficult repairs and replacement of parts on my sunglasses which she easily handled, taking care not to damage my frames or lenses and making sure the fit was comfortable and cosmetically acceptable. I highly recommend J-Lo and Visionworks Heritage Plaza, Port Charlotte. After years of medical practice, it is rare to find such a caring, competent optician with a great beside manner. read more

I was pleasantly greeted by Cindy Krogg and was offered her assistance. She examined my sunglasses and made some observatons on the condition of them. She then took my glasses and made the necessary repair efficiently. Cindy was very friendly and professional. I plan on making a purchase in the future primarilly due to her demeanor and service. OMG I am amazed by the annoying lady that jumped me when I walked in the door. Immediately wanted insurance info. After gathering info and explaining to me how she couldn't access my info. No listening or sales skills. She would have been fired from McDonalds. Walked out! Stay away if you care about getting real customer service. read more

I have been going to this location in Port Charlotte since I moved to the area 16 years ago. I've never had a problem and the staff was always professional. I called today to schedule an eye exam and was told that they are no longer doing any eye exams. Evidently there is No Dr on staff any longer. The last couple of times I went for my eye exam there was a different/new Dr. on site. They seem to find something better and leave. Now...to find another place to go for both my eye exam and glasses. To say that I'm disappointed is an under statement. Vision Works has all my info and hopefully I'll be able to pick up my file once I find a new place to go. read more

My husband always gets his glasses here. We are snowbirds and he waits until we are in our Florida home to get his glasses. He brings his prescription down. This place is a disaster. Buy one get one free? Still cost me $829 for a pair of glasses and sunglasses. Then when delivered, they weren't what I ordered and they spent the better part of an hour trying to convince me that my sales slip was wrong and their order was correct. Finally, after a long debate they promised me delivery of replacement lenses in a 3 day window as I was leaving town. On the third day, I went to have the lenses swapped, and the new lenses were not ready. Today, 9 days later, I called to verify that the lenses were ready so that I could come in and have them swapped, and was told I would have to wait until tomorrow. Seems to me that customer service is an oxymoron for this business. read more

I recently lost my glasses and came in to get a new pair. The lady in the office treated me like garbage just because I was young. She belittled me when I was confused about my insurance in front of other customers!!! And to top off being treated so poorly I had to wait almost an hour just to have my prescription printed off because she "lost" it because my Dr. left. How do you loose someone's eye exam, who was just in here not even 3 months ago. Especially when they're young? How do you expect someone to pay for a new eye exam because of your mistake? I'd never return here and I'm extremely glad my Dr. left. read more
