Where to begin, I'm not very dependably I had to change my appointment a couple of times but they where very understandable and flexible. Dr Porter was great but only not to be out done by her staff member Chantell Furister. She is extremity confidant, compassionate and has a good sense of humor. She helped pick out my frames she refused to let me make poor choices and make myself look stupid. It's a comfortable pleasant but yet professional atmosphere. read more

5 stars for my elderly relative's driving glasses!/ he's soo blessed by the comforting productive demeanors of dr porter and optical ladies : chantall and shantell ! i just am a list of a truly complicated patient, i couldn't work with sunglassing with the frames my very strong rx limits me to, but they got what i accurately owed them and gave back to me accurately what i won't spend up of the good attempt of sunglasses with them! it was worth it to learn more how i need to shop for driving sunglasses, driving sunglasses are specialized glasses, you just have limits that polarized must work with and you need polarization anti-glare in your own eyes preferences physically.. facial anatomy like thin nose bridge makes frames more challenging, : love these helpers but penney's selection couldn't help with my particularly challenging rx! everybody else majority of will be greatly helped compared to elsewhere , dr porter is one of the most respectable optometrists in our area ( i do know so, in the last yr i've been to now 5 major offices )! my search continues. yours improved with dr porter at penney's/ port charlotte mall ! really nice ! read more

My wife Tina needed new sun glasses along with a pair of reading specs. We had just moved to Charlotte County FL from Massachusetts and previously purchased our glasses at JC Penney Optical up in Nashua, NH. We decided to visit the JC Penney optical shop at the Port Charlotte Town Center shopping mall and were not disappointed in the least. Chantell Furister happened to be the optician on duty that day. Her service response to Tina's questions were performed with effortless professionalism and Chantell even came up with a perfect frame for reading glasses that Tina especially liked after having difficulty finding the right fit and look. The sunglass choice was much easier and both eye glass purchases would require a prescription. Chantell wrote up our order and said they would be contacting Tina in about two weeks to come back and pick up the order. Of course they would have Tina try on the glasses and make any adjustments...corrections that were necessary if needed. read more

I had an appointment on the 20th of April 2022. I was very satisfied with the exam with Dr Julie Porter, she was very thorough and she explain everything in detail. I would highly recommend her. Also I saw apprentice Chantel Maldonado to assist me on my glass selection she was very helpful. I wanted my husband to come and see the choice we had made before finalizing the transaction. However 2 of the 4 frames I had chosen would not work for my prescription, so Chantell Furister jumped in and help with the change. She was really good at selecting frames that suited my face. Very courteous helpful, professional and with a great personality. I'm really looking forward to going back to pick up my glasses. The final price was satisfying at least. (Thank goodness they had a 60% off sale-- off ALMOST EVERYTHING). Be prepared to select frames with minimal guidance/ and or feedback while staff cross talks in office chairs.. They become your concern once you locate frame. (Other retailers I find will offer feedback as you try on a few--not here. Once in the chair with frames, there is NO comparison of lens types unless you boldly self-advocate. Unlike other retailers who share their pricing upfront thus creating transparency, They are trained in "black box" sales, They will create a package for you which may, or may not, include extra costs. She told me I had a 1 year warranty.I thought how nice of them to stand behind their product. When I was finally permitted to see the itemized receipt, AFTER CHECK-OUT OF COURSE, she had added a protection plan which cost me extra and surprisingly was not discounted even though her exact words were "everything qualifIes for the 60% discount." I bet JCPenney opticians could run a profitable 3 card monte game. (Don't forget one has 3 business days to reverse any contract.) Can't blame young female; I blame dishonest corporate policies. Her performance is satisfactory evidenced by the fact she is employed. read more
