The doctor was very friendly. The exam went well. I have confidence in the prescription. There was a problem with the lab, which is not their fault because it's the lab that VSP requires. My glasses had to be redone. It seemed like it a long time, but they came out well. The communication could've been better, but overall, I am satisfied. I will go back.

They had so many machines I hadn't seen before and some traditional technology I'm used to. No need for dilation either! They spared no exam for my eye health. The cost was very reasonable! I get eye exams yearly and they went above and beyond most other places I have been. I don't have vision insurance by choice, and they happily gave me a lens prescription and measured my PD as well without giving me the run around. They also helped me with the possibility of contacts and even tried some on, which I just couldn't tolerate but haven't completely written off due to the amazing staff. The glasses here are pricy; However, you're paying for a service that other places wouldn't do for you. I would've gone to Costco or somewhere less expensive but the staff's amazing customer service is worth the extra cost. I had new piercings on my ear cartilage that were being snagged by my old glasses; Athena sat with me and found me some frames that would work with my piercings and I bought two pairs! I didn't even know the frame's legs mattered so much. She even went above and beyond and adjusted my existing pair and fixed and adjusted my old favorite pair that I bought elsewhere to be more comfortable while I waited for my pairs to come in. She took her time to help me and you can absolutely tell how much she loves what she does and is willing to help you however you need it. She requested a rush for me as well for free and I really appreciate the willingness to help! The staff is gold and they joke around and appear happy to be there so I'm recommending everyone to this place!

On three…read moreseparate appointment dates I have stopped by the Optical Shop at Moran and attempted to buy glasses. The first two attempts I sat and waited without any acknowledgment of my presence despite the fact that I was sitting in a chair right in the middle of three sales people. I just dealt with it because they were all helping someone. After an hour waiting I was still 100% invisible. It was super strange. So, oh well. I decide to stop in this morning right when they opened and I was indeed the only customer. A couple employees were chatting with each other another dude was on the phone and then some guy walks toward me after about 15 min. I thought GREAT! He walked right by me sat at his desk and said nothing. You'd think I had a booger on my face or something. I approached him gently and said: "Are you able to help me?" He said "I'm busy doing something right now" SERIOUSLY MAN! The last time I checked the very high price of glasses come with a pretty plump profit margin! Maybe that's why no-one seems to care. I was in this business in the late 1970s, and I know what makes a professional optician. It has nothing to do with the frames offered or the shop's high prices. An optician needs to take proper measurements, advise you on fit and size of the frame for your particular face, and most importantly, the optician must follow up with the lab to make sure the lab is following the doctor's prescription and the patent's requests. Pat Shaw at the Moran Eye Center Opticians on the main floor is a master. I walked in skeptical, with my weird European frames in hand, ready to "direct" and "supervise" the making of my lenses. Pat, with a ready laugh and a professional disposition, handled my "demands" with aplomb, totally diffusing my skepticism. He knew what I wanted and would take care of it. Today, just a few days later, I picked up my pairs of glasses, and they were perfect. I can finally see something after my cataract surgery, and the tints were perfect! Not only were my lenses superb, the prices were amazingly reasonable. I am one happy dude!

They rightly deserve their good reputation for excellent level of care. My doctor, Dr Murdock, is very patient and explains things in ways that are easy to understand. He's taken the time to discuss my eye health, and gone over my scans/images with me. He's even used visuals to help me decipher some of the weird symptoms I was having. As a result, I left my most recent appointment feeling reassured about the unusual vision issues I'd been experiencing. The staff is amicable and sincere - the receptionists, the billing dept, assistants and doctors. They're a great crew to work with.

From the moment I…read morearrived, the atmosphere was unprofessional; the receptionist and nursing staff were openly whispering and gossiping about patients within earshot of the waiting area. Beyond the environment, the billing practices felt predatory. I was charged a $65 'contact fitting fee' despite having worn contacts for 20 years and not requiring a new fitting. To make matters worse, they didn't present me with the fee form until the end of my appointment--after my eyes had been dilated. I literally could not read the document I was being asked to sign. To top it off, I was sent out into the light without being offered disposable sunglasses or any post-dilation care. I would not recommend this office to anyone seeking professional or compassionate eye care.

I was initially helped by an optometrist for some preliminary screening before the doctor came in and she was great. Personable and kind. Then I met with Dr. Pingree who was able to diagnose the problem. He is very personable as well and easy on the eyes and I felt like I was well taken care of. Going back in 2 weeks for my clogged oil gland to be drained. It could have been a much worse problem. I really looked like hell.

I went to this place almost 6 weeks ago to get safety glasses for work. The optometrist was…read moreextremely professional. I ordered 2 pairs of safety glasses and was told it would take 3 weeks. The first pair of glasses came after 2 weeks. The second pair has still not come as of June 14, 2024. A couple of weeks ago i stopped by after being told the other pair was in. When I got there they said they had made a mistake and the other pair wasn't in. They told me they'd reach out again when they came in. Last Friday I called during business hours and no-one answered. I stopped by on my way to work and there was a sign saying they were closed for training. I called on Monday and nobody answered during business hours. I stopped by again and was told that they would reach out to the company and call me on Tuesday. Did they call? Nope. I tried calling again on Thursday and surprise, no answer. I stopped by again. I was not happy and let the lady at the front desk know it. Instead of apologizing, she said, "As you can see we are quite busy and have a lot of customers here in the office." They are going to have one less customer to deal with. They actually sent me a message this morning, via text, telling me to reach out to my safety supervisor to see what's going on with my order. That front desk person has no business being in front of customers with her attitude. Dr Davis cured my night blindness and vision with lasik. Last night I was driving in a rainstorm…read morewith oncoming headlights and was feeling grateful that I could see. This scenario in the past, I could only see a big blur of glare and would guess at the road until the headlights passed. My passengers were terrified! I had astigmatism with multpile abberations. The computer could configure one eye, but he had to custom configure the other eye. Frankly, the custom eye was better than the other. He invested a lot of time to make it as perfect as possible. On the drive home, I was astounded by the detail in nature that I could see for the first time. By the next day, I had some minor swelling that caused some halo effect and some blurry vision, but that completely resolved within two weeks. I used some dollar store readers at work to get through those two weeks. I've always had dry eyes and had permanent punctal plugs implanted, which helped, but the biggest help for dry eye, for me, was Pataday eye drops. I should add that my lasik was about 10 years ago and I'm still happy. My eyes have slightly changed over the years and I didn't pay for the lifetime enhancements, but I still see well. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. DAVIS!

Recently…read morehoewever in early August I phoned to make an appointment as I was having floaters and curtain type symptoms I explained symptoms to the person taking the call and was informed there was no appointments available until Sept 20. So I scheduled, having limited knowledge of eye issues I took the appointment. As my vision became worse I contacted Moran eye center told them my symptoms and they had me come in that very day. The end result being I have a detached retina, a relatively simple procedure if handled in a timely manner( I should have been sent to emergency at the time I was making appoinment) The appointment person at Dr. Davis office failed to refer me anywhere, did not take appropriate or accurate information regarding my condition. My condition had progressed since then to a point that I am legally blind in that eye and now need a complicated surgery that may not correct my vision. I know if not for the gross incompetence of his staff, with at least some medical knowledge, my condition would not have progressed and the outcome would be better. When I called the office to cancel the appointment they had given me I voiced my issues and felt like they had no concern for this fiasco excepting a wish for good luck. In the meantime my life will drastically change if the corrective surgery at moran is ineffective. So if you call Dr Davis for an appointment make sure you talk to some one with more common sense, concern for the patient and symptoms. Because of an incompetent individual who was not accurate in taking information or considering that this is an emergency, or at least referring me some where else or even speaking to someone with some knowledge, successful repair would be highly more likely. Instead I now have potentially permanent vision loss. BEWARE. If no stars was an option that is what it would be as far as that staff person goes.
