Staff were mostly competent. The prices were outrageous. The only tier offered to me to replace the lenses on my glasses was the highest end, and tried to tack on other unnecessary components. So I need a new pair of glasses because after eight years of using readers on top of my prescription glasses, I have finally succumbed to the fact I need bifocals. My husband and I walk in here just five minutes after they open (this means they are far from busy in this practically dead mall) and we browse at frames for a few minutes when finally the only woman working in the store asks us why we are there. Weird way to ask if she can help because I'm most certainly not there to have surgery done. Anyway... the tone she used. As if us being in the store was the biggest bother to her. I hadn't even answered her question yet and already felt like I had over-stayed my welcome. So I simply said, "Nothing. We're here for nothing." And with that, we walked out. I did give 2 stars instead of one because the store was clean and the frames were organized; although, I probably wouldn't have gotten glasses from here anyway because this is a very small store and their selection is extremely limited, to say the least. Also I gave the additional star because maybe there are actually nice employees who work here and just weren't in? I can say this without doubt though, I will never walk in this store again. The only reason for 3 stars and not just one is because of the doctor. She is AMAZING. I hope she reads this in fact, and addresses her lackluster miserable crabby staff. When you walk in you feel like you're imposing, it's extremely uncomfortable. I've been several times over the years and my husband and I cringe when we have to deal with the front staff. These people should not be in customer service, and I rarely feel compelled to write reviews. They also don't bother to call you when your glasses are ready, and that's twice now, so it's not a fluke. It seems par for how they act. What happened to service? I was raised to give good service and expect good service or at minimum cordial assistance. I was in the mall stopped into Visionworks to look for frames since mine are still broken. I wandered looking at the frames on along one wall, while wondering if the man at the front desk was going to ask if he could help me. We made eye contact as I started toward the desk. Had to get contacts put on for a trial (after asking if i could skip it and them saying no) and they weren't even around to aid me in taking them off and putting it in as they were running around getting over people set up. Apparently there's "too many people" but i couldn't have someone sit with me while they forcibly made me stay to put them on in the first place. I pretty was told I had to stay and they had to watch and then I ended up doing it alone. After I paid and this is the one star review comes into play - i asked for the current prescription on my glasses because they had documented it initially and they would not give it to me because I was not getting my frames and lens from there. I heard them say "Well if she's not even getting her prescription from here she should just go ask whoever she's going to. We shouldn't have to help her any longer." So with that I left. They're no longer getting my service or my time. You can pay $95 to get a new pair of frames AND lens from Warby Parker than the $165 they are trying to charge just for putting lens in. Warby Parker does at home try ons and I've always had excellent service. They just don't do eye exams or I would have went there. read more

I visited the store today 12/16/2020 to pick up the glasses and the person told me is was no in the store and 20 minutes later I received the text message that I can pick up the glasses . I called the store to ask if I can pick up the glasses because I received the text message and the person told me to I need to make appointment for tomorrow. Seriously just pick up a glasses. They're very nice when shopping for your new glasses and "paying" for them but when you pick them up it's get you in and out as fast as possible. I mentioned they're not feeling great around my ears and was told they're fine like they know how they feel on me. Will probably have to go back for add'l adjustments now. read more

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible, this is the LAST place you should think about going for an Eye Exam. They rip you off with the 'Doctors' Fees for Contact Lenses Fittings. They are coming up as in Network but, collecting out of pocket payment for contact lenses exams. Even had my insurance company try and tell the office staff that my visit is covered - but, the lady refused to listen. My insurance had an allowance for $150 and they charged me $90 for the exam. I did not even order the contact lenses. They gave some lame excuse that the doctor does not include materials and they are independent optometrist. I wish they would have told me this BEFORE the exam. I would have gone anywhere else. Usually, I pay $20 tops and come out with a six month supply of contacts too. This was the worst experience - I will NEVER go back! read more

The doctor is great, but if you make a 1:30 appt I didn't get help until 2pm. Then I chose the glasses I wanted and the sales person tried to add over 110 dollars of features without saying anything to me. Then when I asked for a print out from Bill-salesperson he wouldn't print out or show me the breakdown. It took so long I had to leave. Then I tried calling twice to order the way I wanted my glasses and Bill said he would call back and never did! Terrible customer service! Won't go back even to have my eyes looked at again! I asked Bill twice to call me, after speaking to him at 3:45 yest, he said he would call me back within 30 min to take my order. To no surprise he did t call back and he is off today! Terrible service!!!! I received a call back from the supervisor and DM. They both took care of me with great customer service. I have used LensCrafters my whole life but insurance switched and that was no longer an option. Went to visionworks. Less selection and cheaper quality frames there. Prices overall were better though. Most major brands not available here. Staff was incompetent: using paper forms instead of computers and filling those forms out wrong. They use outdated equipment for fittings. Staff was also unfriendly- not rude but not pleasant either. Very slow turn around time on glasses as well. Cancelled my order at the last minute and ordered my glasses online from someone else. read more

This office of Vision Works at the Seminole Towne Center mall is not a place I would recommend to anyone. One of the female managers and one of the sales associates were extremely unprofessional and a personal relationship was going on between both of them. This relationship hindered the way of doing business. Even though the female manager denied nepotism or anything personal, it was apparent as she would not listen to a concern that I had about the salesmanship and rudeness of the female sales person. What happened to good customer service? Went in to get glasses for myself & my wife. Was met by Casey who did an excellent job of helping us select frames.My glasses had to go to the lab and my wife's would be ready in an hour. We returned and was met by "Sabrina", we told her we were there to pick up glasses. She got the glasses, cleaned them and handed them to my wife without having her try them on. When my wife tried them on they didn't fit properly. We went back on, I believe 07/11/19 to pick my glasses up. My wife told the lady who greeted us about Sabrina not having her to try them on. When the lady tried them on my wife she discovered a piece missing from the frame. She asked Sabrina to check and see if they had another frame, Sabrina responded "NO". The lady excused herself and went to look. The frame had to be ordered. The lady tried mine on and adjusted them. When I got home I tried looking at my computer screen, all was blurred unless I looked at the cabinets above my computer. When we picked my wife's glasses up I told the lady about my problem. She make an adjustment, I now can focus just above my computer to see the screen and I now have 2 large red blotches across the bridge of my nose when I take the glasses off. Visionworks corporate customer service site don't tell you until you finish your comments that you are limited to 255 characters-They really want to know what is happening. Put glasses in desk drawer, wearing old ones. Will definitely not go back. Sabrina should be sent to unemployment office. read more

This place has the most amazing staff ever. They went well beyond the normal to help me get a pair of computer glasses I desperately needed for a job interview only days away. I went to my eye Dr. that morning got the prescription they asked me if I wanted bifocals and like a fool I declined but after carful consideration after the fact I needed bifocals added. I had spent all day in Lake County looking for someone who could get my glasses made before the deadline of the interview with no success at all. I had also asked if it was possible to add the bifocal to the glasses and everyone had refer me back to the original Dr. By the time I arrived at Vision Works in Sanford I was worn out frazzled and ready to give up. I said I need these glasses before Wed next week they said no problem we can have them tomorrow. I said I would kind of like bifocals on them to they said No problem and adjusted my prescription. They went even further my glasses are perfect they adjusted them so that I can see the computer and read without the bifocal at all just a single lenses. They took my VSP plan so instead of quoting me hundreds of $$ my glasses were under $100. If I had to rank them 1 to 5 stars I would give them a 10 star rating. HORRIBLE service and no communication. First they could not refract me and sent me to a specialist. No big deal, my eyes have issues. The specialist was able to and took care of the refracting. They sent the Rx to this location. I confirmed it was there via the specialist and a phone call. Then they said they would need to refract me again and yes, charge me for another refracting. NO WAY!!! I finally got that worked out and went in to get my glasses. The person who helped me first started trying to upsell me after I told him exactly what I want and was frustrated when I said no (some man I wont tell his name here) he then went to get my Rx and came back and said they dont have it and they would need to refract me again. When I explained the situation he didnt care and made no effort to rectify the situation. I got up and said I have had enough of this. He just shrugged. So I went to another location (Altamonte Springs) and got great service. I will drive the extra to avoid these people. I also called my specialist to get my Rx sent directly to me and told them I will never work with these people again. Oddly, they understood and did not question any of it. So my suggestion is avoid these people at all costs. read more
