My visit was very easy, I already had my prescription from my ophthalmologist office, so it was a very fast and easy order to place for contacts. I will definitely be coming in the next few weeks to get my glasses updated for my lenses. Went to the eye doc next door and opted to get new glasses at Visionworks. Staff simply pointed me at frames and offered no suggestions. When I picked a frame, I asked about getting my RayBan sunglasses updated with new lenses. I was told that would be easy. I was disappointed in the two week waiting period. 13 days later my regular glasses were ready but not the sunglasses. I was told this was because we had a day of cold weather, which seems odd. I had to leave town to sunny Florida with no sunglasses which was a pain. After about another week I still had heard nothing about the sunglasses and the website listed the order as pending. I called and was then told my sunglasses were lost. No apology. No real explanation. I was told to come in and pick new frames of my choice because my original RayBan frames were not available. I returned from Florida and went in again and again was just waved over to the sunglass section. The selection was limited. Almost all the frames are very cheap plastic, not really comparable to my "lost" pair. I picked out one of the few available frames and the staff member told me she'd "put a rush" on them. That was a week ago. The website still shows no real progress, certainly not any expedited order. I have been with sunglasses for a month due to slow processing, the inability to avoid losing my property and the apparently mysterious event known as a cold weather day in Winter. Lousy customer service, no help, no accountability and poor selection. Very disappointed. I won't use Visionworks again. read more

Victoria was able to professionally and cheerfully guide me thru the glasses buying process. She was knowledgeable about the products and honest about what looked good and maybe what didn't (saving me some embarrassment. I had vision insurance and she ran that thru the process and I had my glasses in less than ten days. I used Visionworks several times before and will continue to do so! read more

EDIT: After coming several times for adjustments to try and get the frames to fit right, my frames are now warped and crooked. Every adjustment seemed to make them worse. The last time, I walked out and notices some starburst looking cracks. He told me it wasn't the adjustments, that I must have done something to cause that. But they remade my lenses. In my frustration with their adjustments, I went home and tried to adjust them myself, which caused the starburst cracks again. So clearly it WAS from the adjustments the first time, and If I had not been lied to by that guy, I wouldn't have attempted this. So, now I'm left with crooked glasses that will probably never be fixed or fit right, as well as jacked up lenses. Thanks for nothing, I guess... read more

Visionworks reminded me of Lenscrafters and Eye Masters (if those are still around). This store is a largish, with plenty of frame options available, in a wide variety of styles and prices. For comparison, the other two similar chains may have more frames available in general -- at least based on the stores I've been in over the years -- but there are still plenty of options here, and perhaps more stylish options than what are prevalent in the other chains. The location in North Star is better. Having to make appointments for simple glasses adjustments when they have already done it once and my glasses just don't seem to fit me right. So much for a love the way they fit guarantee. Not worth going there. read more

I has a great visit! I use to go the the Rolling Oaks location but since their long time optometrist left I had a bad experience with the new one. This year the Forum location has a new optometrist and he was great! The staff at the doctor's office and eye wear were also friendly. read more

I was at this location on Saturday 9/12/2020 to have my sons glasses repaired. The man who greeted me was very nice but the woman who was working there was very rude she told me they don't sell those glasses there and without even looking up my information. Finally the man there looked up my information and saw I did actually purchase my son's glasses there and the only thing that she could tell me was they don't carry the screws there and could order me a new pair of Frames for 25% but wasn't sure if the insurance would cover anything. Needed glasses fast. Got them with in 2 hours, however if you don't have eye glass insurance this place is expensive as compared to Walmart. Cheapest frames are around $60.00. Even with a 40% off or buy one get one option you will pay upwards of $200.00. Victor was very friendly. My rating is based on price. So if money is no option, this is your place. read more

I purchased two pairs of glasses (Armani Exchange & Converse) at the Rolling Oaks Mall location (Formerly Eyemasters & still listed as such on Yelp) and had a really bad customer service experience: (See review for Eyemasters Rolling Oaks Mall). After my 5th visit to the Rolling Oaks location I decided to try and get the problem resolved at The Forum (Live Oak) location. I was irritated when I arrived at the store (it was very noticeable with my demeanor) but the moment I stepped into store I was promptly greeted with a smile and a genuine warmth by a gentleman dressed in a very nice suit. There were about a dozen customers but he told he would assist me in a few minutes. He was true to his word and actually helped in under 5 minutes. I explained the problem: my vision was a little blurry in both pairs of glasses but when I adjusted the glasses up my vision improved. I also advised that the Rolling Oaks location tried to adjust the ear-grips so they wouldn't slide down but that the issue still wasn't resolved and I didn't want to deal with the other location any longer. He asked if they had taken my pupil measurements; they had not. He apologized for their error, called the Rolling Oaks location to get my prescription, took the pupil measurements and told me my glasses would be ready in 10 days. I had to wait to 10 days on the original order because I purchased Hi-index lenses that weren't stocked in the store and then had to wait an additional 10 days for this location to order another pair or Hi-index lenses for the replacements. I wasn't happy that I had to wait an additional 10 days for the replacements but gentleman's engaging personality (we had a nice conversation about my recent move to Texas from California), genuine warmth, and apology made my irritation with Visionworks subside. I would have been happier had he been able to get the lenses quicker than 10 days but his customer service won me over. The friendly, well-dressed gentleman was Gregory, the Store Manager. Gregory remembered me when I returned 10 days later to pick-up the replacements and was still as friendly and engaging as the first time I met him. His customer service skills are amazing and I will keep returning to VIsionworks @ the Forum for my future eyewear needs. read more

I have been to several locations and I must say this one probably has the best customer service. The store manager does an amazing job and is usually on top of things. We have been going to this location for the past 2 years. Their variety lacks sometimes but if you ask for more styles or a specific color on a specific frame the manager will go out of his way to find it in the book to see if it is available. I was indecisive about my pair because I did not want goldish frames and preferred them in black. And the other pair of frames I had were purple and I was looking for black. He went and searched for them and returned to tell me one was available and the other no longer was available in stock. So I was going to order the black pair that were available. But then my husband suggested that I keep the brown frames since all the other pairs I have had have been black and he insisted he liked the brown ones on me. So after giving me some time to decide... The manager came back to get my decision. I thought he would be upset that I made him waste almost 30 mins searching for the black frames, but he wasn't. My husband and I were surprised he wasn't the least bothered. When we went in to pick up our glasses I received mine in a regular case. Since I ordered bebe frames like every other year I was expecting to receive them in the bebe case. So I asked her if I could have the proper case. The girl looked at me and said "sure! Let me get that for you". When she came back I realized the cleaning cloth was missing. But I decided not to mention it since I was only concerned about the case. Then While my husband was waiting for his glasses and inspecting his first frames I noticed mine seemed to be dirty on one side. The lady that was helping us (who I had never seen before) was not the least bit friendly. It kind of seemed like she was annoyed to be there. I asked her if she had a cloth nearby so I could clean the residue on there. She said I should have a cloth in the case but I showed her I didn't. So she just took them and went to the back. Not saying one word. She came outside handed me a bebe cleaning cloth and the glasses then asked if that was better. They attempted to clean them in the back and After a quick overlook I said yes and put them away. My husband then asked me to try them on again so he could see how they looked. When he was checking them out he said they still seemed to have a bit of that sticky residue on the side of the frames. So I apologized to the lady for not fully inspecting my glasses and told her my husband had seen they had a bit of residue left. She seemed annoyed and was like "uh.. Okay" and took them. The manager noticed her little attitude I assume bc he immediately stepped in and said he would take care of it. He immediately apologized and cleaned off the residue, he then had me try on the frames. I was wearing my contacts so I couldn't see through my glasses how they looked. He immediately noticed that one side was a little off and was making the glasses tilt. He immediately fixed the issue for me and asked me to try them on again. Huge difference! I definitely appreciate his customer service. He makes sure his customers are happy before leaving his store. He is the reason my husband and I continue going back to this location. He always goes above and beyond. Everyone else here always seems to be friendly as well. I am just going to assume that specific girl was new and was barely getting the hang of things. read more

I came in to get some new glasses so I could pass my next eye exam to renew my license and to see better...I initially came in to get the two pair for $99 but walked out spending much more for a great designer frame with upgraded lenses. The staff was great - and they'll be my stop for years to come. They have a great selection at great prices; and it's worth your time! The store was clean and nice and cool (it was 105F today) / They said it'd take them an hour to get the job done. Happy with the service they provided. read more

I had not had new glasses for 6 years since my vision hadn't changed. I was looking forward to getting new frames, small plastic ones that were very different than I had been wearing. I had not been to Visionworks before. I was greeted by Sierra, and she was very sweet and helpful. I chose my frames and she did her measurements. She spent a nice amount of time making sure I was comfortable with my choice, explaining that the straight bifocal I wanted would possibly give me a different view than I was used to in such a small frame, but this was what I wanted. I had large metal frames, and I needed the change. Well, I knew within hours after picking them up that I could not be happy with my new frames: the plastic was too bold and distracting and the bifocal was not working for me at all. I was so disappointed. I called and was told I had 30 days to be happy. I went back soon after, and was helped by Jai this time. She was so sweet and helped me find frames that were metal but small like the previous plastic ones. She, like Sierra, worked hard to make sure I was comfortable with my choice. I picked up my new glasses, and I thought they were great! The next day I realized they felt tight on me and I thought I had made a mistake. I went back in, just before closing on a Sunday, and Sierra was there. She inspected my glasses and said she could make them feel right. She did just that. I'm so pleased with them now. I've never been to Visionworks before but I will recommend them to anyone. I had spoken to someone at the Rolling Oaks store by phone when I started looking for my frames, and the young lady put me on hold to search for the frame I requested, but never returned after 12 minutes. So, the Forum store will be my choice. read more

Went with my sister yesterday so she could get her glasses adjusted. We walked and waited in line behind a woman and when it was our turn the worker asked what we needed and my sister told her she needed her glasses adjusted. The worker grabbed her clipboard and started walking off saying oh I was just seeing if u were here to pick up something I'm helping some other people right now. But when someone else behind use stopped her on her way to the other people she 'helping' she stopped and helped him no problem. So after a few minutes of standing at the counter with absolutely no help, we went across the street to americas best they helped us and we were on our way in less than five minutes. read more

Went into the facility with my boy friend, I walked in ahead of him and was completely ignored, a woman immediately greeted and literally jumped out of her seat and ran to him to greet him and ask how she could help him. He gestured to me and said, "she's here for new glasses." She seemed genuinely disappointed. She asked if I had been there before, took my name and insurance information and disappeared. A few minutes later a women named Jai or something similar told me she would like to assist me with my selections. When I asked about the other woman, she told me she left for lunch. We left. It was very rude for the first employee not to tell me she was leaving after I had provided all my personal information. Who knows what she's fine with it??? The glasses were amazing but Alyssa at Vision works is so rude. Not only was she rude to me but rude to my 12 year old daughter. I cannot believe that such a person is actually allowed to work with people. She didn't even ask for our names but instead looked at us and said, "Have a seat. Ordered 2 pairs of glasses, got the first pair a few days early. Went to pick up the second ones (they were supposed to be sunglasses) only to find that they repeated the first pair...no sunglasses. It's hard to drive in San Antonio with no sunglasses. All the sales person could say was "sorry" and to wait an ADDITIONAL 10 days. It's frustrating to drop $300 after insurance and wait almost a month for them to get things right. Poor customer service. I'm sure there are better places to get glasses. This one is not right. Glasses are not like a pair of pants or a new blouse...they're a necessity. read more

Worst customer service ever! When you are told "it will be just a second" expect to wait at least over an hour. Employees not paying attention to the order of customers coming in. And also having untrained people on the floor does not help. It's one thing to be busy but clearly not okay to keep making someone wait who's already been there watching people come in and out and get attended to. read more

I gave Visionworks no stars because of the terrible customer service and the fact that it took 23 days to receive my glasses. I ordered regular glasses and sunglasses. My husband also ordered two pairs of glasses a week before I did. His glasses came in on time and they checked the fit and sent him home with a free glass cleaning set. When I picked up my sunglasses within the 7 to 10 days they handed the glasses and case to me and walked away. Since there was a significant change in my prescription I did not request a fitting. I decided to wait until the regular glasses arrived. That was a mistake since the one stem on the glasses was so loose I could not have worn them anyways. After another week I called the store to inquire when my regular glasses would arrive and was told that the frames were at LaCantera and it would be a few more days. I waited several days to call and once again told the frames were at LaCantera. Again after a few more days I called for an update and was told that they weren't due until the 29th. I explained to her that they were due on the 29th of April and we were now five days into May. The next phone call to check if they even received the frames was basically answered with a don't call us we will text you when they are ready. But we will put a rush on them once the frames arrive. Finally I received a text that the glasses were ready on the 12th of May. I went in to pick them up when we were back in town on the 14 th.They were barely polite when I said the new sunglasses were so loose and needed to tightened. I explained that they had never been worn and she replied that they only loosen with wear. I asked to have smaller guards in the section of the nose area in the regular glasses and showed her my old glasses which were the exact same frame as the new one and they replaced the nose piece with pieces that were still to large. I explained again that I needed the smaller pieces and finally she put the right size and the glasses fit. She handed me a case and asked if I wanted a bag and left to greet a new customer. No thank you for your patience. No eye cleaning kit. No sorry it took weeks for you to receive your glasses. No I am sorry that I inferred you are a liar and wore the sunglasses and that is why the stems on the glasses are loose. The next time we spend almost $1600.00 - which was the amount not covered by insurance - it will be at another company. I am not sure who is the manager at this location but that person should be replaced and the rest of the sales people need to be reminded that there are other stores that customers can go to buy glasses. The one exception is the store representative with the name of Jai. She was the person who sold my husband his glasses and helped me with my order of frames so that a few days later when I came in with my prescription all that needed was to enter my prescription into the computer. Unfortunately only one competent employee will not be enough for me to return to this store when I once again need new glasses. I now have to give this store one star and I do so only because I must in order to post this review. read more
