This is my favorite Costco in San Antonio. There is one really close to my house but they don't have gasoline so I visit this one more often. As a bonus it's next to a Total Wine. With gas prices what they are I try to combine my errands into one trip a week. Some of the things I always get when coming here are organic eggs in the 24 pack. Great price compared to HEB and they are always fresh. Love the frozen Handy crabcakes. A lot more crab than other stores and brands. I make my own bacon and pastrami and always buy my pork belly and brisket here. The quality is just better than elsewhere. So happy when they added self checkout lanes. I'm not buying for a huge family and the addition lets me get out quickly. I have also used Costco travel for cruises with better prices and extras than other travel sites. While the value is usually very good, it's hard for me to get out of there for under $150 but, knowing I'm buying in bulk, I believe my outages go a bit farther. One of the more convenient services is Eye Care. There's an independent Optometrist adjacent to Costco, who performs Eye Exams and can then have your presumptions sent for pickup within Costco which odds open until 8:30pm. There's also a basic Auto services Center to purchase and install Tires & Batteries. Also, don't forget the the Hone Improvement and new vehicle purchasing power available to Costco Members. I'm pregnant, and the manager confronted me over an incident I wasn't involved in. Her employee at self checkout has been rude multiple times to us over the course of months. Someone I know had a verbal interaction with that employee, and their conversation progressed, and resulted in the person I know calling them a b*tch. I was not there or apart of the conversation when this took place. The manager then came to me immediately accusing me of calling her employee a b*tch, I immediately informed her that I pregnant and that I was not involved. She ignored me and continued on. I want to have limited stress during my pregnancy, and am extremely fearful of the possibility of losing my baby. The manger continued to harass me and my family over the incident. To the point where she walked to the exit speaking to my sister, who was also not involved. I had to physically get between her and my sister to guide my sister out the door. There's good employees at this Costco, and it's great that the manager wants to protect their employees, but the attitude of the worker at self checkout is genuinely rude and ruins the entire trip to Costco. We live out of the way already, so we hardly go to Costco. We will no longer be going to this location, for the safety of my unborn baby and family and my own mental well-being. read more

3.5 stars why? COSTCO MANAGEMENT ADDRESS THIS: The employee experience is hit or miss and now for my biggest issue. During the exiting process there is this Asian lady that looks your cart over like an FBI agent. She slows down the line and touches items that doesn't belong to her. She should not move things around that people OWN to look under items that are clearly visible from the sides of cart. No other employee does this - it's rude and disrespectful. There is no self checkout and the likelyhood of stealing is very low. Treat your customers, which pay a lot to shop here with respect not contempt. I recall during Covid she literally asked me to put a mask on my 3yr old, and I said no thank you. There is no law regarding inspecting my cart, we do it to be polite. read more

We have utilized Costco for years and enjoyed great customer service. Today, Saturday, May 3rd 12:15p was not that. Utilizing self-check and 1st Costco employee scanned all of our items in for us. We paid and went to front of store to show our receipt to leave where we are told all of our items weren't scanned in and 2nd Costco employee clarified our pkg of $4.99 Lens Cleaner was not scanned then he looked at receipt again and said no, instead it was one of two pair of Levi' jeans $39.00, had not been scanned in, and he called "Audit" directing us to move off to side. A 3rd employee came running over and we were taken back into store to another register where yet a 4th employee came over to see if additional support was needed. We paid for the pair of jeans that had not been scanned after I studied the receipt to make sure what we were being told was correct as by this point I was just done with Costco experience and couldn't trust support we were receiving. After paying and giving my explanation where we did not receive good customer service, we were walked out and received multiple I am sorrys. Note to self, I will check off my own items against receipt before I get to checkpoint as this was not the kind of fun I wanted to have. read more

There isn't much that can be said for a Costco. When you walk in, there is always a warm greeting followed by being asked for your membership. There have been some Costcos in densely populated areas that have been messy due to customers picking things up and leaving them in places where they shouldn't be. However, it's nice to see that there is always someone actively looking for this and returning them to their displays. The clothes area is always folded and there usually is someone refolding the clothes that have been moved around. The meat and refrigerated section is always stocked to the brim with bulk meats and pre-made meals ready for your hungry eyes to grab and go. There's not much difference between Costcos and that's what makes this experience as wondering as it has always been for all the years that I have been shopping here. The customer service, cleanliness, and professional upkeep of the warehouses made me a forever customer. Oh, and don't forget the massive pizzas and super generous return policies. The process for checking out and getting in line is a nightmare. There are two lines that form on the right side of the store but then you have people on the opposite side by the snack section cutting in and not waiting their turn like everyone else. They need to have someone monitoring the lines all the time and making sure that people are not just cutting in front of 20 people. We were in the area for another errand and came to this Costco as it was nearby. We needed a new battery for our SUV. They had then in stock and we were on our in in minutes. I want to also mention that this Costco is much busier than my usual. It also has a Gas Station which I wish mine had. It was set up a little different than my regular Costco. But the thing I really noticed was the amount of products. They were much more full up in their bins and on tables. I would say 3 times as much in clothing set up on the tables. The place seemed crowded with more goods in general. They were also much more crowded than what I was used to. Very busy-maybe that's why they have more items to sell. read more

This location is very standard for a Costco. They have all the good stuff including everyday clothing that you like to wear and great rotisserie chicken. I particularly enjoy the coffee section and I appreciate how the frozen food is a little bit of a higher level then your typical grocery store. Stopped at Costco and had wonderful service. Eye glass department is fantastic. Tried to get gas when leaving and the fuel pump was not working correctly. Tried a 3 times and got assistance. Clean and has so many bargains in stock. Unfortunately my aunt and mother had food poisoning from the fresh salmon. Mom was hospitalized a day and my aunt 11 days did sepsis. The staff quickly reimbursed for the fish. My concern is that I called and no one remembered me calling and I hope no one else got sick since the product probably wasn't pulled. I think they have a great selection of quality meats. Parking is OK but too many in handicapped without placards.I wish the app allowed to scan and go the way they do at Sam's. They also don't give second cards without proof of address living in same house. Had Costco put new tires on my wife's vehicle.Got a flat tire driving to San Antonio yesterday. Put the spare on. Dropped off flat tire at Costco in Selma Tx I left the tire overnight and was told didn't need an appointment if I got there 15 minutes before they officially opened Saturday morning and to wait in the Tire service areaI was there 30 min early. Had breakfast tacos for the crew as a thank you gift. Nobody came out. Store officially opened at 9 :30 Went to the tire counter No one present. Went back outside to see 2 vehicles pulled into service bay. Knocked on garage door. Mechanic rolled up the door Said I'd have to wait 2 hours for a 5 minute job. I told them I'd change it myself. They rolled tire out the door and closed the door. Didn't offer to load is in the back. I'm 62 with a ruptured L4 disc and I had to load the tire myself. Really lousy service. Y'all need to take some lessons in manners from the Webster Texas branch. Their tire department is first class and the staff is extremely polite read more

This location is always too crowded. There is never enough parking and most of the employees are straight face. They don't have early shopping hours; which they should for at least executive members. Maybe that could alleviate some congestion. People are always parking in fire and no parking zones. Costco is so overrated and definitely not worth the membership, frustration and time.
