I have been to other Visionworks locations but this location by far had the most appointment times which was nice. The front desk staff were kind and worked with customers efficiently. I was checked into my appointment quickly and was seen timely. I also felt they did a great job with answering questions and explaining different options. Hailey who said she is the supervisor at the 108th location should not be working customer service, she was very unfriendly and unprofessional and seemed like she had no idea what she was doing on the phone and just try to get rid of me and make me call my insurance carrier when they had the information there at the store, very unhelpful and just kept laughing whenever I had a question in a couple times during our conversation she said things that contradicted what she said previously in the conversation, so she is not to be trusted with anything that she says and the Parking lot is often full in their micro lot so the only option is to park in handicap spaces, this place seems run down and ghetto, go to another location for better and friendlier service. I called to see if I could get a loaner pair, or a pair order until I could get in for an appointment. Oscar, the gentleman I was talking to didn't seem to care or want to help. With the pandemic that we are facing you would of thought that Oscar would of understood. I said that with all the trouble I've been through with you guys maybe I should just find another provider. Oscar agreed. He said yes that's probably the best. I have never been treated so bad or been in an environment where customer service was so unprofessional. I had my first appointment on Sept 17th on 27th St they cancelled because they were under staffed, reschedule my appointment for another location because the customer service is not great and I honestly did not wanted to deal with them anymore. Had my appointment 2 weeks later in a 108th and they couldn't let me chose my glasses because my appointment was the last one and it was already closing time, she was very nice so I agreed to come back, even though with my work schedule is really hard. Come back at 10/11/22 at 5:57 and they turned off the lights as soon as a I was walking to the door because they were understaffed when their closing time is 6:30pm. read more

We made appointments to come in and check out glasses today. The staff was really great and welcoming. There was a big bottle of sanitizer right inside the door so we could easily clean our hands as we came and went. They gave us trays to hold every pair of glasses we tried on so they could make sure they all got sanitized as well. Once we found the pairs we liked, they went above and beyond to check all options to make sure we got the best deal possible. Kudos to the staff for their patience and diligence not only in finding us the best deal, but also in keeping everyone safe! Honestly, the only thing I like about this place is the Dr. and one of the receptionists who's a very sweet and kind woman. I went in for my eye exam in January. While getting glasses I was being told I needed all of these specialties, clearly trying to up sell me for over and hour. "the doctor said this so that means you want this add-on right here etc" When i declined I still walked out paying hundreds of dollars, without being told prices and how the discounts work. For a few weeks after I felt dizzy and out of it like my vision was off and it was throwing off my perception. Turns out, one of my contact prescriptions wasn't right for one of my eyes as it was blurry. I came back in one day asking if i could get squeezed in for their response to be "oh no, the doctor isn't in today... sorry" so you're telling me the eye doctors just don't come in on days? not even one of the few who work there? what are you open for? Then, later on in the week when they said my glasses were ready, there was a sign on the door saying they "sorry for the inconvenience but we closed at 4 today - even though they're scheduled to be open until 6:30 and told me to pick up my glasses after work. FINALLY, i got in the beginning of march with the other eye doctor - and he told me "you're either gonna have to deal with uncomfortable contacts, or being able to see, you choose" love it. Anyways, It took over a week for my trial pairs to come in for my one eye and unfortunately one of them was blurry, and the other one kept moving around throughout the day. Now almost APRIL i called again to discuss my trial pairs (and if you call 6:00-later they will either not pick up the phone, or in my case, they will answer the phone very angrily) and a man who was very clearly annoyed answered and said " *sigh* how can i help you??" i hung up because i was just sick of this dude, who clearly doesn't give a flying f about anybody who walks in there (same guy trying to up-sell me) Now, after 2 months of having vision that's off, I scheduled an appointment with another Visionworks who already demonstrated better customer service than what i've been dealing with for 2 months. My parents even said after my experience at Visionworks, they're taking their business elsewhere and not taking the chances. I have been miserable trying to just see like a normal person, and my concerns have been constantly swept under the rug. If you hire people who are responsible for other peoples EYESIGHT, at least find people who care, don't make you feel pawned, and don't make it obvious they're just trying to leave for the day. read more

Had a really bad experience at the Southridge store. Needed to return the glasses they sold me, so I went to the West Allis location. What a difference! The service was awesome. Went in for an eye and contact exam. Was given my prescription and was only told that it would help if my last eye doctor sent over my last prescription so they could compare. Not sure if this happened or not, but when I called to order my contacts a few months later I was told that I should have recieved trials and since I didn't, they have to order them now before I can actually order any contacts. AND since it's been more than thirty days without a follow up exam, I will need a whole new exam AFTER the trials come in. I was never told any of this at my last appointment, nor do I plan to pay for two exams just to order contacts when I was never told I needed a follow up OR a trial pair they never ordered for me. read more

Horrible customer service. Bought 2 pairs of glasses and when I went to pick up one pair was missing. I called corporate and complained especially about poor customer service. I had to pick out another frame.... and wait again. When i went to pick up the manager helped me. I asked her to adjust my frames a little and she cracked both lenses.... I was able to get a same day, last minute appointment- which is SO helpful since I don't often have time to schedule in advance. The ladies working the front were all very busy but took the time to make sure I was acknowledged & got me started on paperwork. My appointment was at 4:15, but I wasn't seen until about 4:30 due to them running a little behind. The woman at the desk kept me informed so I was able to get a head start on picking out glasses. As soon as someone was available I was called to do the 'pre-test' part before seeing the Optometrist. Shortly after, Dr. Lackzowski (sp?) called me in and did a very thorough, yet quick eye exam. He took more time than other eye doctor's that I've been to, and made proper adjustments. After I was done, I only needed a few minutes to find glasses since I already browsed. The sales lady really broke down the pricing to get me the best deal. Looking forward to picking up my glasses soon. read more

Waited forever for my eye exam (which I scheduled in advance), eye doctor made me feel like it was my fault he was so busy & said I was "one of those people" who made his day so busy, like it's my fault I needed glasses. Went to pick up my glasses today & the prescription is totally wrong & hurt my eyes. The girl responded with a nasty "you had them on for like 2 seconds" comment. I'm not an idiot, I know when I can't freaking see anything with the glasses on! If they can't fix it, I will be demanding a refund. I will never go there again. Unprofessional, rude, & inaccurate. I recently went to pick up the remake of my glasses from this location, which all Stein locations have changed their name to VisionWorks. You see a year ago I saw the Optometrist there & had new glasses made up for me. I was told that I could come back within a year & pay $30 ($20 for the IDENTICAL frames & $10 for the lenses) & get my identical frames & lenses redone. (you do have to give up your original pair of glasses though) I dealt with both Randy & Cathy there at this location both times & they are the best at what they do. I highly recommend going there for your one stop shop for glasses & or contacts & to see an Optometrist all in one easy to find & convenient location. read more

I was very disappointed in the office aspect of the place. I looked up this place off my insurance list, gave them my insurance information days prior because they stated they needed it to check everything prior to appointment. When I got there, that's when they first called and turns out that I couldn't be seen there! Used their online service to schedule my appointment. Tons of time slots available, so I was able to get exactly when I wanted. Arrived 10 minutes early, which was just enough to get their paperwork filled out, then the pre-test. The doc did a quick and thorough exam, asking questions and taking time to listen to me. Then I worked with Chris on finding frames. She did a fabulous job getting me set up with just what I wanted, and quickly checked out. read more

I went to the Brookfield location for an an exam, waited forever I had the glasses I wanted picked out, waited forever for someone to wait on me Was told after finally being helped my glasses would be ready in 2 days, by the time I got home had a message saying sorry it would now take 10 days I called after 10 days to see if my glasses were ready and the girl who answered phone said she didn't have time to check--Seriously This place is an absolute joke and I will be surprised if they are still in business in a year I would never go back and I will tell everyone I know to never go to this place read more

I went in there for the first time and it was great! I was a little late for my appointment but they still greeted me and took my eye test. I was explained in detail about different options they had for the glasses and the frames and helped me choose the best option possible. My experience- First walking into VisionWorks, no one greets you or addresses you right away. I felt so lost and not sure of what to do. Which I thought was a bit odd. Appointments- it's just a timeframe not the exact time you booked your appointment that you'd be seen. I waited for about 40 minutes after my initial appt time. Only one Dr. on staff which I understand for budgeting costs, etc. My exam- The DR was great. I enjoyed his knowledge and personable. Gave a few options of the best options to try. So I thought that was good. I also received an exam for contacts/glasses. My glasses- They are not PERFECT as I was not able to get the "transition" lenses for the sun's glare due to backorder on that. That was disappointing all in itself. My contacts- been an ongoing process. They cannot pin my contacts to my prescription being that my Rx is a bit on the heavy side. I intially paid for my glasses/exams and thinking that was the full total. I was wrong. It would cost me another 300 for a years supply for contacts. I do not have that kind of money for contacts. I'm a bit disappointed with the outcome. I've experienced better at other vision centers. I wanted to give a great review but fell short of experiencing that. read more

Visionworks West Allis is the absolute worst place to purchase glasses and contacts. The "deals" offered force you to spend a lot more money than you'd ever hope to spend on mediocre, display frames (the least they could do is take off all the tape from the sticker). The wait time is absurd. I received my glasses in a month - not an hour or even a week. The professionalism is sub-par. Although the manager attempted to make the experience slightly better, other associates defend themselves for not having clarified information, for making mistakes and for being unprofessional. My experience at Visionworks in West Allis started out ok but turned sour after being told "don't let the down hit you on the way out".

We have been going to this Visionworks location for years. There are 5 of us in glasses, and they are always wonderful to work with. I also have a new contact wearer. He wanted to wear them, but struggled when it came to putting them in. He was very nervous and tried on three different days to get them in at the office since they won't let you leave with them unless you can get them in and out - so thankful they make sure a new wearer knows what they are doing before sending them home with contacts. Thanks to Parry's patience and encouragement (we scheduled around her availability because she made my son feel at ease), he was successful today in getting them in and out! Huge achievement and progress from his first attempt. She has always worked with each of my children and with me, and we couldn't appreciate her more. She won't let us get glasses frames that don't look just right on us, and she works hard to get us the best deal with insurance since all of us have contacts/sunglasses/glasses or a combination of two. Thanks to Parry, my son got them out this afternoon at home in a matter of minutes. Her confidence in him gave him the self-confidence he needed to be successful! read more

Very unprofessional team of employees. The women working here seemed to not care about the customers at all. I had my eye appointment done on a Saturday on Wednesday an employee called and asked what color contacts I had ordered because she forgot and never put in my order. Then when my order was ready I recieved a phone call and the woman told me my contacts were in then she said who is this again (at the end of our conversation) and said I just want to make sure because I wasn't sure if I had already called you. It was a very strange environment and everyone seems to be alittle "off" that works here. I'd rather give $250.00 to a company more worth my time and money and who actually value their guests. read more

Can I give this zero stars? I called to make an appointment for an eye exam and glasses the same day hoping that I could get in. After speaking to the receptionist (?) I was told I could be seen at 5 and she emailed me a link to fill out paperwork ahead of time (to save time). When I got there about 5 minutes early it was packed and there was a lady complaining on how her son had an appointment for 4:30 and hasn't been seen yet. I knew I should have just left then. I was told to talk to Cindy Lou (not her real name but it could be). Cindy Lou is a complete mess. She handed me a clip board and asks me to fill out paperwork (again). I inform her that I had already completed the information online before I came. She said she had no idea how to access that (awesome!). So, I filled out the paperwork. Cindy Lou was busy giving a customer a pre-eye exam (which I'm very certain she did not have training in). When she was finished she told me I could begin to look for frames and that I would be the next to see the doctor. After wandering the store for frames that were really in no particular order- I decided to sit back down and wait for the doctor. However, Cindy Lou asked me once again to go find glasses. A few minutes later I was approached by another employee who informed me that they do not take walk-ins and that I would need to call and schedule and appointment. Um, I'm sorry? WHAT? It was now 5:45 and I had enough of the nonsense so I left. read more

The worst place I've ever attempted to get glasses. Order took a long time. Picked up my glasses, and the left prescription was not correct and blurry. I assumed it was the wrong prescription altogether, so I took it to my eye doctor - different place. They told me they were made incorrectly and rotated. Sent the glasses back in. No call back to tell me they were ready after waiting for a week. Come back in, poor customer service. I have to wait 25 minutes just to pick up my glasses. Couldn't see out of the left eye again. Woman at the counter was rude and snotty and impatient. She said she needed me to bring in a pair of old glasses to compare and that she would call me when she decided what to do. Never called me back. A week later, still trying to assess where my glasses are and if they are going to get it right. I will never get glasses here again and hope to get my money back so I can go elsewhere. It should not be this hard. I have a simple prescription. read more

this was my 2nd year returning to this same location.never again.I came in for contacts this year. and to make a long story short....for some reason they had the wrong contact brand listed in my file. and no matter how many times i called them after my appointment to tell them what the right brand to order for me was...they could not record the right information. they ordered the wrong contacts twice...and when i called them TWICE to tell them the correct brand to order they still never got it right because i received a call back from an employee wanting to go over the pricing of these "correct" lenses i had wanted....suprise surprise the lady who called me back was still trying to order the wrong contacts.so finally i was told they had ordered the right brand..i waited a month and never heard anything..finally i was sick of waiting and called to see if my contacts were in yet...i was told "theyve BEEN in...and we tried calling you" which i never had received a call from them...and even if i missed the call they should have left a voice message iv never dealt with such incompetence or lack of organization and communication within any business establishment. i will never ever come here again and have already spread the word to others not to waste their sanity on this place. read more
