The quality of the exam and the selection of the frames are the best I have found in the MKE area. My only reservation to recommend Be Spectacled is how difficult they make it to select lenses once you have picked out some frames. An associate literally read aloud my options off their computer monitor, without clarifying the costs or features. When I selected the basic lenses, they said I didn't want those (then why even offer them?). I never really understood what I was getting or paying. I didn't even see an itemized receipt until I picked up my glasses ($275 for lenses, oof). It all felt rushed, opaque and like I was getting up-sold at a car dealership. If they would be more clear and transparent about lense options and costs (maybe put it all on a flyer you can hand to the customer), this place would be an easy five-star review.

I'm happy to say that changed recently. I made my appointment, had my eyes checked, and got my prescription. I was a patient of Dr. Dahlgren's who had an office in West Allis for almost 25 years. I was not notified when they moved their office to Greenfield. Fine. I had no problem driving to Greenfield. Dr. Dahlgren had been semi retired for several years so I was just happy to still get an appointment. Then I find out at the end of last year that he had retired. I don't know when. I found out when I called to make an appointment. It would have been nice to have gotten a notification both times. When the person offered other doctors, I just hesitated. It really bothered me that his patients got dismissed. It's a nice office, things look great and I don't doubt that the quality is top notch, but it's apparent that profits are more important than people. That just made me feel horribly dismissed.

I don't like their billing system, I feel like they don't work hard enough to get money from my tightwad insurance company, but maybe that's the fault of my insurance. I'm not sure. The third thing is they just can't seem to make use of 21st century technology, they can't email, text, use Google Calendar. They insist on phone calls, voice mail, and faxes. I know they hide behind some excuse about HIPPA, but they are misinterpreting some old regulations from last century.

I waited another month to pick them up and when I tried them on I could not read out of them at all. I did not take the 1st pair back because there was a scratch in the left lens that was not there before. She said that I would have to wait to hear from the owner and that he was in Michigan closing down some shops up there and that it might be up to three more weeks to hear from him. Well another month went by, there still open but no response from no one. So I put a complaint in to the BBB. It has been three weeks and no answer from them either. I doubt I will get my hard errand money back because their policy is no cash refunds. I started to read the reviews for them and came across one that was pretty much like my experience, SO BRYER BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!
