It's the best opportunity to see your favorite Disney characters up close. Just take your seat along the curb in front of Cinderella Castle (the best view) along Main Street, or hang out further away on a bench in the shade on Main Street. It all depends on how close you want to get to the characters. This specific parade started in 2014. I originally thought it was the parade of my childhood. The one that I remember getting a nose kiss by one of the chipmunks as a teenager while standing by the curb. Was it Chip or Dale? I have no idea. It was cool how they all interacted with everyone on the street. I didn't see as much of that. It was mostly waving, blowing kisses, and singing. Yep, I was thinking of a totally different parade without the fancy floats. However, this one is way better. The floats actually perform. Peter Pan's galleon ship shoots cannons. Not real ones. Don't be silly. The Tangled boat was so cool with it's moving oars, and tools that swing up high with Flynn Rider onboard. But, the coolest float of all was the Maleficent dragon that's breathing fire throughout the route of the parade. Beauty and the Beast, as well as Mickey & Minnie provided some cute moments. Get to your parade location by 2:45 pm so that you get a good spot. The parade starts at 3 pm at Frontierland. It moves past Liberty Square, Cinderella Castle, and then on to Main Street. Everyone on Main Street will be the last to see it. It takes time for it to get there, but just be patient. Oh, and definitely be sure you have sunscreen because you'll be frying like an egg in a skillet (unless it's overcast). Most people aren't used to the intense afternoon sun in Florida. If you burn easily, you need to be protected. Other than that, enjoy the parade. It's absolutely magical!

WATCH THE FESTIVAL OF FANTASY PARADE FROM FRONTIERLAND…read more Instead of dealing with the crowds on Main Street, we watched the Festival of Fantasy Parade from Frontierland (where the parade begins). The light crowd day (it was a Mickey Christmas party day) coupled with watching the parade from the less popular Frontierland area may be why we easily found a curbside spot. We watched a young park guest experience a Disney Magical Moment during the parade - Alice walked up to the young girl, offered her an imaginary cup of tea and pretended to nibble on her gingerbread Minnie ears :o). Sometimes we see parade characters interact with park guests in the smaller Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade parade - it was an unexpected treat to see this happen during the Fantasy parade. Hopefully it was a tech malfunction that will be fixed - the steampunk Maleficent dragon was not spewing flames during the parade.

If you have a trip planned then opt for it when you reach your 60 day reservation mark for dining. It is listed under "enchanting extra". It is offered a few times each morning and it does sell out fast. That being said I grabbed this tour the first day we were eligible and believe me this is truly the best tour in the Magic Kingdom. Allow a full 5 hours for this tour. You meet at Main Street cinema, preorder your prepaid lunch (part of your tour cost) at Pecos Bill and meet your tour guide. Our tour guide was a charming lady named Liza who gave us portable headsets to hear her better. She came around and adjusted them if you needed help. We started down Main St, looked up at the names on the storefront windows and learned the history about them. Walt's name is there too! You need to look above the ice cream store after you turn the corner and you will see it. They have plenty of pseudonyms there to disguise the fact that Walt Disney was the real sponsor. After that we headed to Adventureland where we got a behind the scenes ride of the Jungle cruise. It was great looking at it from a different perspective. We toured Frontierland and Liberty Square and then sat down 2 1/2 later at Pecos Bill for our lunch. We had a special room reserved for us and our floor was by our nametags. They even gave us a souvenir keepsake, A Disney Keypin to go with my name pin. Please note that we ate at around 10:30. If planning to eat breakfast that day I would suggest to go light since lunch was so early. We then got priority access to ride the haunted mansion and learn more about the famous stretch rooms. During our visit we went "backstage" to where only cast members are permitted both on the main floor and of course finally visited the utilitor system. We are committed to secrecy on this part of the tour but I will tell you that you will learn a lot and it is amazing with all the things we saw. We spent a good 45 minutes in the utilitor and walked around it. Liza answered any questions we had and made sure we stood in shady areas to combat the oppressive heat of the sun. When the tour was over we were surprised to learn this was her first tour by other tour guides and was awarded her D pin which she could now display. Needless to say we were all very happy for her. This tour is for persons over 16 who want to know more about the Magic Kingdom. No two tours are like. This tour differed in many ways from the tour I took years ago and it was so fascinating and informative. Highly recommend this tour for any who wish to spend their day learning about the Magic Kingdom.

Not only was it the perfect #alldaydate for us it was also so educational. Jerald was so fired up and knowledgeable about all things Disney it blew our minds. He was the real star of the show in our mind's eye. It was as if Walt himself was our tour guide. We started at Epcot behind the scenes before World Showcase opened. We went during the flower and garden show so all the landscapers were manicuring the flower models. He told us all the tricks they use how they make building focal points in each of the parks. Then we went behind the scenes to see how the American Experience show works. From there we went and saw the Shops at Disney, Laundry, Costume Design/manufacturing/ storage. Lunch at Whispering Cafe was excellent. Last stop was a tour of Magic Kingdom. The grand finale was us walking down the Main Street parade route just in front of the parade. We felt like part of the show and VIPs. They let us stay and watch the whole Festival of Fantasy parade which was so entirely awesome appreciating what we had just scene behind the scenes to make it all happen. Thank you Disney Adventure for an unforgettable experience. BTW, for all the parents of little ones out there...our kids got their very own "Mary Poppins of a nanny for the day. We used a company Extra Hands who provided an awesome nanny as their personal park guide for the day. They had just as much fun as we did.

Our tour was given by cast members (employees) of the Disney Institute. Shout out to Monica and Stu! These are the people who act as ambassadors for the "Disney Way" of doing things for corporate team building visits. They are enthusiastic ( either that or darn good actors) about Disney and are very knowledgeable about pretty much all things pertaining to the house that the mouse built. Ever wondered about the supposed tunnels under the Magic Kingdom? You will find out on this tour. Ever wanted to see how Disney maintains all the attractions? This tour is for you. From costumes, landscaping, trash collection, trading pins, parades, transportation, maintenance, entertainment, if you can think of it, this tour will do everything short of giving out proprietary information to answer your questions. The tour is pretty much all day with lunch provided. If you are a picture buff, this tour is not for you. As Stu put it, you are only allowed to take pictures if you see babies in strollers. Every thing is referred to being onstage or backstage. Taking pictures backstage was strictly prohibited except for the Disney tree farm and nursery. Seeing the Animal Kingdom parade in its storage house was really neat. The tour is pricey. This experience is for the person who has done pretty much all that Disney has to offer as a guest (if that is possible). You have to be sixteen to attend so it's a nice adult only day on the properties. Now here is some very minor downsides to the tour. One. Disney World resort is so expansive that Disney could easily make this an 8 hour 5 day tour. They have tried their best to give a broad overview that is entertaining but does not wear you out. For someone like me that wants to know all the nuts and bolts of very specific aspects of how Disney works, you will walk away at times wanting more. Two. As I said earlier, the tour is pricey even with lunch thrown in. When it ends around three in the afternoon, I wanted to go straight into Epcot or Magic Kingdom and look for some of the things I learned about. It would be nice if they gave you a complimentary admission into one of the parks that would not burn a day off of the tickets you probably already own for the time you are going to be on the properties. Three. I really wanted to spend more time in the mothership park Magic Kingdom, but each of the four parks is given fairly even time. Four. The meal was at the Wilderness Lodge. It was a good meal, but serving heavy setting wet ribs is not a very good choice for a tour that involved a lot of walking and standing. It was fairly cool in October, but eating a meal of ribs in the summer would have been miserable. Finally, you really don't know the agenda for the day until you get there. From what Monica told me, Disney tries to change up the tour from time to time, but since it is pretty pricey, I don't know if I would roll the dice and risk taking the same tour again. There is so much to see I would want a new experience. Again, these are minor downsides and are only ways Disney could enhance the experience. Don't let this list of five insignificant quirks change your mind. The tour is worth it. This is a really good time and a break from the normal Disney experience. Give it a try.

The parking lot of Magic Kingdom is massive! This is my issue with it, its so large, that's fine, but they never have enough trams to pick up people. You end up waiting and then are jammed on the tram. Once you get to the front of the ticket center you have to go through security. This is another issue, they only have one line. There are so many people and one line! It's crazy! The ticket center also has ticket booths, but I would recommend buying your ticket ahead of time. Once you are past security you have three options to get to the parks: you can 1. Take the monorail to Magic Kingdom, 2. Take the Ferry Boat to Magic Kingdom or 3. Take the monorail to EPCOT. This is also the spot if you are park hoping from Magic to EPCOT or vice versa. You can also get to the monorail resorts from here. Overall this is fine, you kind of have no option if you drive to Magic Kingdom. Chances are you will go through here at some point. It's fine, its large and has all you need to get to the parks.

Take the Ferry Boat to Magic Kingdom 3. Take the monorail to EPCOT And then on really busy days or when there are issues with the Ferry or Monorail, they have buses to take you to Magic Kingdom. This is fine, there is not much to say about it. You have to come through here when you drive to Magic Kingdom. If you plan on ending the day at Magic Kingdom or EPCOT, (park hoping to both), I would suggest parking here. It is easy to hop via the monorail from Magic to EPCOT. You can also purchase tickets here but the lines are long in the morning. I would also recommend getting your tickets before heading to the park. They also have security checkpoint here, so you will go through security, but then when you get to the park you do not have to go through again, you have already done it. The security line can get long, they usually funnel everyone into one line which is slightly annoying. Its so large and so many people, they need to have multiple lines open. My real issue with this place is the parking. The parking lot is so large and the rows are so long. They never have enough trams taking you up to the ticket center. You end up having to wait forever in the morning and then again at night. You can walk but it can potentially be a really long walk depending on where you park. But you will see it if you drive to Magic Kingdom.

We booked through the website and had great communication about where to be, what to expect, etc. On the day of our tour, we arrived at the pick-up location a little early and our guide (Jessica) was already there waiting for us. The van was spotless and comfortable and our Jessica was very concerned with our personal comfort and safety. Along with my wife and I, there were two other couples, one celebrating and their 51st anniversary and a young couple in the military out for a fun evening (we are somewhere in the middle of these age groups). We all had a great time. Once the tour got rolling, so did the rain. It poured but that didn't distract from the experience too much. Jessica was very informative and entertaining and clearly is very concerned about everyone having a great time. She showed us sights of the city on our way and asked fun trivia questions. I'm kind of a "slow-to-warm-up" kind of guy and she made thing relaxed and fun right away. We stopped at four restaurants for food and drinks. She sampled Asian, Ethiopian, "American", and dessert. I don't want to give too much away because the stops change frequently and there's also a bit of joy in not knowing ahead of time what is coming next. At each stop our table was waiting and we were treated very well by the waitstaff (I was a little worried about being treated like a transient tourist being on a tour like this). At each stop they were ready for us and food and drink arrived quickly. There was time to relax and enjoy the company and the food but things moved along quickly. All-in-all, this was a fantastic tour. We will definitely do it again when we return to Orlando. We want to try the lunch tour, too. I think this is great for locals and travelers, alike.

We met at 6877 S Kirkman Rd in front of a closed down Office Depot. I'm not sure why we met here. There was no food stop near this location. We visited, in order: 1) Stonington's Fried Shrimp 2) Tako Cheena 3) Yum-mi Sandwiches 4) 4 Rivers Smokehouse 5) Jeremiah's Italian Ice I've gone on countless other food tours. Here's how this one stacks up. The food portions were above average in my tour experience. They were large and mostly main food items, not dessert. At place 3 we had two items: a small smoothie and the two of us split a full sandwich. At place 2 we split three tacos. At place 1 we got some shrimp, catfish, corn bread and mac n cheese. Place 4 was a cup of BBQ pork with cheese grits on the bottom and coleslaw on top. Place 5 was an icy or gelato. Our guide tried to personalize our tour. He discovered one of us was in town on healthcare business an proceeded to point out all the local hospitals as we drove. I've learned more history on other tours, but perhaps Orlando just has less. I wouldn't know. What we did learn was interesting and presented in a fun way. We covered a lot of ground in the car and stopped on the side if the road in a few locations. I'd change: In other food tours the guide called ahead to the restaurant to say we were coming so the food was ready upon our arrival. This didn't happen on this tour, though it's a nice touch as it keeps the pace up. Our guide stood in line and ordered at each restaurant while we sat down. Then we all sat down and waited as the food was cooked. Calling ahead would speed the tour up. Secondly, none of the owners or managers or chefs (or even waitress for that matter) of any of the restaurants came out to speak to our group, which is common on food tours in my experience. I missed hearing the restaurant's perspective on the food and the establishment's history. Our guide did provide some.
