Parents think this school is so great... and the lunches SUCK! They gave me a moldy sandwich and I didn't notice it until my last few bites and I got food poisoning. I am so happy to be out of this school after so many teachers would tell their students to shut up. Not a great experience. Tigard High School was the location for the The Compassion Tigard Clinic…read more I'm a dental hygienist who volunteers with Medical Teams International Dental Van a couple times a year. The Van is all over the Portland Metro area at different times a year. I had no idea the Van would be part of this Compassion Clinic. It was awesome. What a great community event. Tigard High gets a gold star for hosting this event. Wooo Hoo!!!! I had a great time.

They have been so accommodating to my schedule and the kids absolutely love their days at this school. If I could give a 6 star rating I would. There are some days that I pick them up and they are bummed to leave. The learning curriculum is top-notch as well. I trust every teacher there and I know they want the best for my kiddos. My son will be finishing up pre-k at the end of this year and this was the best launching pad to give him a head start in kindergarten. Thank you to learning years and all that you do!

The staff were kind, dedicated, and many of them had been there for years. Now, more than a decade later, my grandchildren are attending the same school, and it's amazing to see so much has stayed the same in the best possible way. The same owners and director are still there, and I still see many familiar faces when I pick up my grandchildren from time to time. That kind of consistency speaks volumes. Learning Years is truly a special place. The care they show for the children and families is genuine, and it's clear that their top priority is always the well-being of the kids. They expect them to finish "school work" and "assignments" even though they are pre-school and there are no true assignments for that age. (At least there shouldn't be) We had our child in first grade at the beginning of the year and removed him due to many blatant circumstances... one was due to a combined 1st and 2nd grade experience which he wasn't prepared for the combined learning and greatly divided attention based on acumen. They said they treat both separately but we were sent home with homework that was NOT for a first grader. This brings up a greater issue. We believe this school thinks of themselves as a higher/further educational school for bright children. They are not. They give work to children without the teaching/learning they need to actually accomplish the work. Unless you are the culture/lifestyle that also teaches your child at home, your child may be lost or left behind at this school. This has by far been the most "by the book/rules" "school" that I have seen for CHILDREN as young as three years old. Do we really think that three year olds should "finish their homework"? Do three year olds even need homework!? I believe enrolling my son in this school was one of the worst decisions I have made in my raising him to this date. He has been thriving and multitudes happier since attending public school I can't imagine why he hated this school so much.
