I have been very disappointed with the lack of communication from the professional hospice staff…read more In the over three months since our mother was placed on hospice we have not heard from any medical staff. Dr. Maley talked to us Once briefly shortly after our mothers enrollment in hospice. The social worker and chaplain have called several times. Our mother has had a change in status however we were not notified. Nothing was done to prepare us for her rapid diminishment. Last week she had an episode when she was briefly unresponsive. No one from hospice contacted us. The episode happened while the hospice aide was providing care for our mother. This is very disappointing. When our mother was placed in hospice there was no discussion with us about the possibility of exploring other hospice options. Her primary care doctor is also one of the medical directors of the hospice. We have been appreciative of the hospice aide care. However again there has been no communication from anyone in the medical side of the hospice program. We find this extremely disappointing and unsatisfactory.

We've had Dr. Stephen Krebs each time and he's been very friendly, knowledgable, and willing to answer all of our questions without judgment. We never leave without a handful of information on all the important topics our son will be experiencing between visits! He's made the anxiety of going to the doctor so much easier on us with his gentle demeanor.

If somebody else set-up shop in Carlisle they would be swamped with patients within a week. I will never forget when we waited 3 hours for our newborn's first appointment. Yes, 3 hours in a freezing cold waiting room with a newborn. You are probably saying to yourself that there was a very good explanation for that and in fact there was! There were two doctors on that morning and one of the two doctors was sick (and contagious according to her) so only one Dr was seeing newborns. That other Dr, the contagious one, was only seeing sick kids because, as we all know, all germs are the same so she couldn't possibly have infected kids that already have weakened immune systems. If you really want to take your children to a Dr that is OK seeing sick kids while she is contagious then more power to you and good luck to your children.
