I have had 6 Physical Therapists and 2 Chiropractors over the last 10 years and she is the only one who helped alleviate my pain and gave me increased mobility. All of the other practitioners I have seen had me do the exact same exercises and stretches the previous practitioners did even though I told them they didn't work before. Dr. Philbrook took the time to listen to me and gave me a complete neurological exam before deciding what course of action she wanted me to take. All the others seemed to be using the same play book, "Oh head-on car crash, that's on page 128". Some of the practitioners didn't even take the time to examine me before deciding what treatment they wanted me to follow. Bottom line, go see Dr. Philbrook, you will be glad you did.

I will start by giving some background info to help explain my feelings and while I do not feel two star review reflects the care team and could be associated with American healthcare I will leave this here for future clients. I recently hurt my back and while I was able to receive some care through my own research I went to Therapeutic Associates to ensure that I am doing as much as I can to prevent future injuries. My first appointment went well and while I did not get much more information than I started I thought it best to continue care. Admittedly they had assessed that I may not need many sessions to get back to full health but would like to continue seeing me. I had asked about billing and was told by the front desk that if there was any billing they would inform me on my next appointment. I had to change my next appointment due to being unable to find anyone that could babysit my son at home and was able to change my appointment successfully. Went to the appointment and got a manual adjustment and was able to schedule the next appointment without mention of a bill. So I had had assumed the treatments were covered under my insurance as they said they would inform me if there was any charge. Unfortunately the next week we got news that we had lost our child on the way and I needed to cancel my appointment to counsel my grieving wife and myself. Unfortunately there wasn't a mention of a cancellation fee or a mention of my previous charges but my mind was elsewhere as well considering the situation. I did reschedule and got an email informing me of charges of the sessions. The emails themselves do not show what the bills or charges are and you must create an account with them to see what the charges are. After finding out what the charges are and considering that I do not feel I need more sessions I decided to cancel my last appointment and found out of the cancellation fees. I admit I should have been more aware of the bills and should not have canceled the day of I was meant to have the session but what is done is done. I was originally going to give a 3 star review but I remembered that during our second session I was passed off to a different associate and was charged extra for the dr to crack my back. All in all I feel as though my experience is an outlier and the general experience everyone has going through them is lovely. My complaints could be due to how insurance billing works and my unfortunate life altering situation which caused me to be unable to keep the schedule I would have liked.

I have nothing but great things to say! All staff are friendly. I had Anne and Amy for my appointments and both were very good at adapting the care to me not just giving me the same care as another back injury. Every PT aide I worked with was also very friendly and held great conversation (I believe they were all george fox students). When I was discharged they gave me a prize and made sure I had the necessary tools to continue my pain-free life. They also gave me their contact information for any future concerns or questions. They let me know I am always welcome back even for a different injury. I appreciate everything they did for me! My back pain improved by so much during the 2 months I was in PT.

My in-laws paid their $150K move-in fee on the basis of the promises made over the course of…read moreseveral years that the rent and minimal fees were all inclusive. This retirement community was supposed to be economical, safe, and convenient. Meals were supposed to be discounted, with many services like a shopping shuttle and medical transportation included. In truth, they could have lived in a bigger, more luxurious room at the Best Western down the street and eaten all their meals at a local restaurant for less money than they ended up paying. After move-in, the free shopping shuttle and medical transport were shut down because Friendsview "couldn't find a driver to hire". This, to my knowledge, has never been subsequently addressed. Their 500 sf apartment cost them $1200 per month, initially. They ended up cooking their own meals because meals were $12 each ($72 per day for 3 meals for 2 people). Eventually, my FIL had to go into the Friendsview memory care program, which was supposed to be a greatly discounted program for residents of Friendsview. Thereafter, the monthly rent and fees amounted to $3000. That did not include supplies used in the memory care unit. They were charged for every item supplied, every aspirin, and every latex glove at exorbitant rates. To add injury to insult, workers in the memory care unit mismanaged my FIL's medication. Because one of the medicines was causing him to slip into unresponsiveness , his doctor ordered it stopped. When he was found unresponsive a few days later it became apparent that he was being given the medication despite a note in his chart to stop that medication. My in-laws granddaughter is an RN, and when she questioned why the drug was still being given staff argued with her that it was doctor's orders. The financial burden was more than my MIL could sustain long term, so when my FIL died she moved out, abandoning the $150K buy-in money. Our experience is that these people are dishonest, uncaring, incompetent, and will squeeze every penny out of their clients that they can. Avoid this place like the plague.
