When my 102-year-old mother came to San Diego in December 2025 for her winter stay, we realized…read morethat she had declined significantly from the previous year. While still able to get around with her walker, she needed assistance for many of her daily functions. As we are both in our late 70's, we determined that some in-home weekly assistance would be needed. Relying on Yelp reviews we contacted San Diego Home Caregivers and met with the owner Sterling Miles. It was clear from the start that finding the right caregiver and meeting all of Mom's needs was his top priority. He even gave us information on other options in case his services might not meet our needs. He is genuine in his concern and commitment to providing top level care. We could not have been more impressed when we met Mom's new caregiver Jasmine. Her cheerful, warm personality was a perfect fit, and Mom was immediately comfortable with her. She went out of her way to not only care for Mom but to also help us in any way she could. Unfortunately, by the end of January Mom was at the end stage of her life. Because she was so comfortable with Jasmine, we had her continue to come even though Mom also had Hospice care by that time. As 20 family members came to say their goodbyes over the final two weeks, they were also very impressed with how caring Jasmine was and how much Mom appreciated having her there. We highly recommend Sterling and San Diego Home Caregivers.

I saw the great reviews for San Diego Home Caregivers and reached out to them. They set up a quick home evaluation and Sterling came out to the house. My mom told me that he was so kind, gentle, and full of compassion. He then called me to fill me in on a plan to get them help. Sterling went above and beyond to provide us help. It was clear to me that Sterling is in this business because he cares more about people than simply making a dollar. If you are looking for a company that cares about those you care about, I highly recommend San Diego Home Caregivers. You will be as thoroughly impressed as us when you meet Sterling at the free home evaluation. Hope this review is helpful to you in choosing the right caregiver company!

I was told another area was being prepared for parking, and it would not be a problem. We arrived at the assisted living in January. There was always a parking space in January. Early February, I noticed signs being placed at each parking space reserving it for visitors, employees, and now, assigned spaces for those who still drive. I drive 30 minutes to Santee, and there is absolutely no parking available for visiting. Even down the steep street coming up to LC, there is no parking available. There are things that could be done to alleviate the parking situation, but management doesn't seem to care? Now when I attempt to visit, the lot is full, people are parking everywhere including handicapped, fire lane, and blocking other parked cars and people are yelling at each other vying for vacated parking spaces. If parking weren't a problem, I'd give 3 or 4 stars. The kitchen, while sometimes disorganized, always gives three hot meals a day. The place doesn't smell bad and seems clean. The common areas are nice. Medicine delivery (costs extra) hasn't been a problem. We have had a couple problems with "care" issues, but nothing too serious. We are seriously considering an another place a few miles away with ample parking for visitors. For the cost of monthly rent, a parking space should come with the unit.

At Angel's Guest House the caregivers were so much more compassionate and truly loved my father. The food served was higher quality, better variety and served with love. Not to mention a whole lot cheaper. It's run as if we were family. I'm VERY PICKY and I felt at ease knowing he was in good hands. This place is located in Santee. A little bit farther than he was but well worth the change. The caregivers and owner were so welcoming. I want to thank them so much for their loving care. His health continually declined as he went in and out of the hospital over the next few months. The last time he was discharged from the hospital he asked me to find him a small home, with round the clock care. He previously lived in a larger corporate style Independent Living environment, so he was adamant that he wanted a more laid back environment. He was tired, bed ridden and suffered from from Parkinson's Disease and also had Pulmonary and Cardiac issues. When it was time to consider how to proceed with his health issues, he made the tough decision to go on Hospice. He didn't want to go to the doctor anymore. He just wanted a safe place to rest and be cared for. Taking into consideration his wishes, we found a safe and caring place for him at Angel's Guest Home. There he got 24/7 care from Cathy and her staff. My father adored Cathy who is the owner and seemed to always be on site. We visited my dad every day for months and Cathy was always there to help her staff and oversee the operations at the home. All of the people who work at Angel's are so kind and work so hard. Its a tough job physically, mentally and emotionally. I don't know how they have the strength to do it, but I am forever grateful to them for the care they gave my dad in the last chapter of his life.

Pet friendly, and a dog park on site. The staff are kind and caring. Victor is the best in sales. Front desk ladies are wonderful. The 1 star deduction is for the slow and complacent service in the restaurant. At the Pointe's restaurant, Terrazza, the food is excellent, but staff move slow and often forget to prep the tables with basics like water and glasses, silverware, etc. Once they seat you, they disappear and it can be quite a while to be able to ask for something like forgotten water or butter, etc. The buffets run out of food due to lack of staff watching and preparing. The Chef rarely (?never?) comes out to check on his tables. Bless the restaurant's staff's hearts, they could use a good manager that is present on the floor and a checklist for the table service.
