I am so pleased with this nursing agency! Their nurses cared for my special needs son while I recovered from total knee replacement surgery. I spoke with Emily, Director of Client Services, regarding the various services the agency provides and she was able to tailor a plan specific to his needs. Emily created a nursing schedule, including a back up nurse and a training day for agency staff. Emily's efforts and follow through made my confidence level soar knowing my son would be well cared for while I would be unable to perform my usual caregiving activities post surgery. The nurses were extremely professional, caring, and respectful while working in our home. Communication at all levels was superior. My non-verbal son also enjoyed seeing the nurses each day as evidenced by his BIG smile. I won't hesitate to refer family and friends to this agency should a nursing need arise. Better Solutions took care of me for four months. At first I had 24/7 care. Almost twenty CNAs total during that time. Most were very good. The rest were good. I eventually had to narrow it down to one person. I was fortunate to pick Crystal as my primary caregiver. She was excellent. Very kind and above all, cared greatly about my well being. She motivated me to do my physical therapy every day, wear clean clothes. and take my showers. I became a bit lazy during me illness, but she played a huge part in getting me back into shape. I was unable to drive at first, so she would drive my car to run errands, and even go with me on field trips to the zoo, aquarium, malls, etc. She would push my wheelchair around the zoo, with me getting out occasionally to walk. This helped immensely getting my strength back. Better Solutions did an excellent job recruiting kind people that give a damn about your well being. I will remember Crystal for the rest of my life. I found A Better Solution to be very professional and considerate. The company was used as private care giving for my elderly mother to augment hospice. The care givers were well trained and respectful. If you have any questions or concerns the managers are quick to respond and work extremely well with you. She has been willing to take her to appts when we cannot be there as we live out of state. Checked on her to make sure she was getting proper care while she recuperated in a care center. Better Solution Home Care provided service to my Mom when she was transitioning from Nursing Home to an assisted living facility. They loaned my mom an old wheel chair with the promise of providing a new one through Medicare. After 8 months and many phone calls where they said they were working on it, today they changed their story and passed the buck to the nursing home saying they're supposed to provide it. I visited my sick mother in San Diego being cared by a company, Better Solutions In Home Care. I could say most of the caregivers aren't doing the job they are supposed to do. 2 out of 5 caregiver does something on their cell phones most of the time. They need to be reminded to check our mom's temperature, check the oxygen saturation if less than 92% that my mother will need supplemental oxygen, change diaper etc. I know that caregiver also need to assist patient with light housekeeping, laundry etc. but those are not being serviced. It was disappointing to see caregivers just holding their cell phones almost the whole shift and us being charge for such big amount of dollars per hour. I woke up one night to check how's my mother doing and found that the caregiver turned off all the lights and resting. Although, I would like to commend one caregiver that work beyond her duties us caregiver, her name is Marina de Guzman. We admire her for doing such an excellent job! She's the best!!! Your agency must educate or lecture your employees on how to perform their duties well in order for your agency to gain more clients that will trust you to care for their loved ones. After a very bad experience with another home care agency, I found A Better Solution. From the start they were more professional and more dedicated to finding the right care for my husband, Conrad. His care giver was Juan, and we could not have asked for better. He bonded with Conrad immediately. Not only did he take care of his physical needs, but also his emotional and social needs. He helped my husband with his PT exercises and made it fun by cheering him on. He played games with him, played his old CDs of classical music for him and actually listened with him. When Conrad wanted to talk about something Juan actively listened. He treated my husband as if he were a much loved grandfather. Conrad has recently moved to Hospice, which is the only reason we're no longer using A Better Solution. I recommend them highly. They may be truly amazing when it comes to clients & their families. But when it comes to certain employees.. I don't know if it's discrimination or favoritism but KURT is NOT a good guy. From day one of my orientation he was rude and lied to his employees (schedulers) saying he never got my info, when I came in the next day. At the end he ended up lying AGAIN and told his schedulers (employees) that I never showed up to my scheduled job. Which was a lie When he gave me my 1st warning. They took me off that particular case. So what he was saying is impossible. I regret meeting that man. The owner however is a doll. Some of the Registered nurses are absolutely amazing! Diana was very thorough and also one of my favorites! I never experienced a moody CNA or Caregiver It really was & is a great team. All Except for the PRESIDENT. I'm writing this review now cuz I was extremely afraid to at the time I was working there. Another thing I regret. If someone is rude and disrespecting and lying on you no matter how HIGH UP & HOW MUCH AUTHORITY & POWER they have report it. Don't be afraid. Like I was. We used "A Better Solution" only for a short time. My husband , a quad, needed help while I was recovering from surgery. The company was willing to work with our limited schedule sending well trained, professional and friendly care givers that worked with our special needs and schedules. The one time a care giver didn't show the manager herself came out to take care of us. We soon ended up with a regular person who we grew to care for and looked forward to her visits. I rarely leave my husband to travel to see my family but feel I have finally found a company I can trust to come and fill in for me. The one star deduction is only for the fact that I had to ask three times for a final accounting which I choose for account review and need for tax deduction purposes. Your loved ones will definitely be well taken care off by A Better Solution, which nowadays is not The norm. read more

Hey everyone, if you are looking for an in home care company for a family member IN HOME CARE SOLUTIONS INC is your best bet. My wife's Mom recently needed in home care due to a fall.She fractured her thoaracic 10. We did'nt know what to do. We have seen on the television and in the newspapers the terrible things that happen to your loved ones from care givers. Mom's Doctor reccomended a better solutions care and asked me to call and talk to Dianna and let her know he reffered them as he had used the company for his Mom. I called and Dianna got on the phone and I explained our problem we needed care for our Mom and we needed it to start the next day. First off no other company called me back until the next day, however Dianna called me back and not only said their company could help but scheduled a meeting that same night so we could get the coverage tomorrow. And she advised me that if Jorge could not come out to the home due to his schedule she would come out herself and she is the director. Everything was done and the next day they were out to take care of our Mom. The care givers are of all levels it just depends on the injury and what level of care you need. I would reccomend this company over the other's that are out there simply because they care about you, the scheduling, checking in to see how they are doing and the personal touch that Diana gives you. I agree with Danielle D. This is a company that is worse than awful. At least one of their caregivers is a thief. While my husband was home alone with her, he spent the major part of each day in the living room sitting or lying on the couch while one of 3 caregivers (Mullores, Gloria, Tina) was in the bedroom vacuuming, picking up, etc. One of them stole my wedding ring set, which was on a porcelain hand under some watches (not in plain sight) on the dresser. When confronted, each one said that she had never been in the bedroom, which is a lie, because my husband heard the vacuum. Merrilee told me to write up everything-the incident, description of the ring, and photos. She was out of town the following weekend, but promised to pick everything up the following Tues. On Tues. she had just flown in and was leaving the airport and promised to pick up the written info on Wed. When I called and left messages, they were never returned. One time she did answer, and when I identified myself, she said,"Well," and hung up. Then she called the owner and told him that I was harassing her. I paid $3,000 to this agency for their "services," only to have my wedding ring set stolen!!! read more
