What I found (at least on her wing of the building) was a staff who kept her clean and comfortable and treated her with respect. There were a few things that needed my attention and I knew I needed to be there everyday for at least a while to keep an eye out. As I sat vigil in my dying mother's room I got compassionate concern, hugs, and even prayers from the women and men who tended to her. Her pain meds were always delivered on time. Before we put her here I saw the other reviews and was very scared for her but there was one positive review that I focused on that eased my mind. Some staff are wonderful and caring, but relative was not treated correctly, and despite everything said to them-they finally sent to hospital, finally! STAFF ARE TOO LOUD AND NO PATIENT CONTROL No noise control and no monitoring of patient whereabouts. Setting in urine and feces too long is not healthy, food iffy, some staff argue about hospital doctor orders for medication and had an attitude, "I'm going to check" was the response AFTER the argument, then the correct procedure was followed. No attention to reviewing patient medical and medication records, and first few days lack of attention and care except to put everyone in adult diapers and eventually change them. There are some good workers there, but... beware, someone must be there every day. THIS FACILITY MUST CONTROL LOUD NOISE, PATIENT NOISE FROM SHOUTING, TV, PHONES, AND STAFF who are too loud also. PATIENT RECOVERY DEPENDS UPON A QUIET and RESTFUL FACILITY-NOT DISTURBING NOISE. CAN'T SAY THIS ENOUGH.

As I recall from several years ago she was a good customer and I helped her. She gave me her card. My eyeglass prescription has been very stable for decades and I'm careful so glasses last me a LONG time. Recently my arms have gotten shorter *grin* and my ophthalmologist recommended progressive lenses. I figured Transitions would be a good idea as well. Today (a Saturday in April '19) I walked into South River Eye Care in Edgewater MD with my new prescription. My wife was busy and I was out on other errands so I was without adult supervision. *grin* I told the optician who stepped up to help me what I thought I knew and what I thought I wanted. She very patiently helped me with a number of frame options and equally patiently took pictures of me in each for my wife to look at. She wrote all the options down and the front desk staff opened a file for me. So we would not have to start over when I came back. I'm impressed. Without vision insurance the prices are a bit attention getting but I truly feel you get what you pay for here. I expect to be back late in the week to finalize my order. A few days later I stopped by with my choices firm. Very helpful, good fitting, good measurements (Pd), and outstanding treatment. Just nice people. Seven to ten days to my new glasses and a 60 day window to order a backup pair with a steep discount. Out on a business trip when I got the call that my glasses were ready. Today I stopped by to pick them up. Great service again. Recognized and greeted at the desk, well fit, excellent advice for adjusting to my first pair of progressive lenses. I'm wearing them now. *grin* My wife is happy about how I look and I am happy about how I see. We'll be back for her new glasses in a few weeks.
