They worked about 45 minutes, then told me they had to leave because the one guy hurt his back, but "we will be back Wednesday" (8 days later). Wednesday came, they didn't show up. Left a message on their answering machine, they didn't call back. Tried to call again, answering machine full. Left message on their website; no response. I understand things happen, people get hurt, appointments sometimes have to be broken, but at least have the courtesy of telling your customers why you can't show up as promised. We interviewed and met with more than 10 contractors and got a number of bids. Frankly, we were getting worried. Many of the contractors in this area are just flaky! They don't call you back, they don't show up when you make an appointment to meet, and in general they don't do what they say they will do. Later, when we compared several bids side by side, we found a few had proposed inflated bids. There were other contractors that were skilled with a hammer and offered competitive pricing, but seriously lacked other skills, like listening, communication and customer service. We had a huge project and questions and concerns. We needed a highly skilled contractor for the variety of tasks, good communication, someone who listened, cared about our situation, was easy to talk too and not a flake. Thankfully we found Matlock Construction Services. It was a lot of work and took nearly a month to complete the needed repairs and renovations. Now the project is done and we are thrilled! Working with Todd relieved so much of our stress and worry. We knew we were in the best hands possible. Matlock exceeded our expectations on every level.
