I have been coming here since I was a kid. Not only are they the best donuts (glazed buttermilk bar is #1 favorite) the service is also excellent! We special order dozens of donuts to take back home with us whenever we visit. They use top tier ingredients and have kept their prices reasonable even with the higher cost of ingredients. I recently visited and purchased 8 donuts for work. I tried two (glazed twist and maple bar) and couldn't finish more than two bites of either. The maple on the maple bar cracked off with each bite rather than adhering smoothly/creamily to the bread. The bread of both of the donuts was a somewhat dry consistency. They charge 75 cents to use your card. I unfortunately cannot recommend this donut shop and will not be back. read more

Zero star rating definitely. Thief! You will be charged doubled or more a few days later. First of all my husband and I decided to stop by this donut shop since it was nearby. It was 4:30 am on 1/31/24. We just got in town to visit families. I used my card to paid for the goods and waited like usual for receipt to print out. Seller then said okay. I said okay, and we waited so I could sign the receipt. He said you are done. I've asked him, my card went through, it's paid for? He said yeah it went through. I said I don't need to sign anything? He said no. My husband and I made it to our car and there is the seller who came outside and said "mam your card didn't go through, come inside" and he turned back real quick and walked with guilt. At this point we felt like something was fishy going on because from the moment I swiped my card to the end interactions. At the counter: He said sorry your card didn't go through. I said why is that. You told me it went through earlier. He was acting a little funny and staring at his iPad and kept tapping it, scrolling up and down and then said I could you show you, you see it didn't go through. Well, what am I looking at (I can't see his screen at all because he didn't spin it around to show me and just pretending). Mind you, he didn't want to show but just saying it because he felt like he needed to. I said I'll pay cash. He said oh you are going to pay cash. Then there is no fee for the card so it's less. He wouldn't give receipts for a failed transaction which never printed out or paid with cash. At this point there was his regular customer who wanted to be nosy and stood there listening and I felt humiliation during this whole ordeal. I found out the seller at this donut shop charged my card 2-3 days later but the transaction merchant's name didn't say Vista Donut. If it is a business it should have said it. Instead it said this name: Thong Chen. Who is this person? Seems like he was desperate and needed my money and charged me double for some donuts that were nasty! Almost $70 for one dozen of donuts, three ham and cheese croissants and a cup of coffee! How dare he took advantage after I've paid him in cash and decided to charge my card a few days later. Be careful with this place and I'm warning you. I agree with other reviews that customer service suck ass here and I would avoid this place! read more

As everyone has mentioned, pricing seems to be whatever they feel like that day. Donuts are definitely made on-site but are not fresh by the time they're sold. Chocolate and Maple old fashion were blah, chocolate bar with "whipped cream" was tasteless. My coworker brought some donut from this mom and pop shop. It was really good and I'm not really a big fan or donuts. I had their basic donut no glaze or anything and it tasted super good. I've been to this shop 3-4 times since I moved here in 2019. Most of the donuts never seem the freshest, even the times I've gone early- should I be there bright and early if I want them fresh? I just moved to Lake Elsinore from Pomona and this is the first time I've visited Vista Donuts. First of all, the lady who helped me was sooo very nice and welcoming. She is definitely a professional and she has excellent people skills. I ordered the Apple fritter and I must say that it is HUGE. Mine was still warm. I hope everyone reads this review! I just moved here from Louisiana and was in need of some donuts. I saw Vista was right next to me and so I gave it a try. I've learned that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, and this was definitely the case! The outside and inside weren't very eye-catching. I didn't catch her name, but the owner was very patient with me when I was picking my donuts. She asked about myself so we chatted for a bit and she told me how expensive it's been with the insurances and whatnot. Her husband had gotten a back injury recently so she's been doing all the work and baking by herself as she can't afford any other employees either. She said it's been very difficult lately and they've been having a hard time. She's had that place for 40 YEARS! I can only imagine that what she says is true about it being difficult if she's had Vista Donuts for so long. I got 6 different types of donuts and they were really amazing! Melt in your mouth and full of flavor. I'll definitely be back for more like I promised and I hope people read this and can go support her and her husband as well! Visited once again! I wish it was more often. I love 1.5 hours away so it's not often anymore. ALL of the donuts are so so good, but to be specific, the donuts I can not find anywhere else like Vista Donuts are the swirled raised puffy donuts (orange is the best), the chocolate chocolate , with chocolate chips inside, chocolate frosting and chips outside (yummm). These always sell out quick, so I recommend to get there early before they run out. I especially love their pastries. Horrible service, but nice venue and good location. I don't know who takes the other shifts but the man who wears glasses and a hat was the one that rang up my order. There was definitely no love in what he was doing and he didn't seem like he cared about his job or customer. It was toward the end of the day so he was probably over it and the food wasn't as fresh but there should still be a consistency the entire shift. These are just your average donuts so if you live around here you get'em for lack of better ones close by. But if you do your homework you make sure you land elsewhere at a real bakery with quality ingredients. Bad: the sign!
