I came here on a Thursday morning to pick up some donut holes, a maple bar donut, cold starbucks coffee and a ham and cheese croissant sandwich. The lady at the counter is so friendly! She knows all her regulars. She helped me bag all of the goodies and we went on our way. The donuts are always freshly made! My kid loves the donut holes as it's always a treat to get some sweet from us. The maple bars are also delicious! The ham and cheese sandwich is massive!!! Definitely good for sharing! There are also plenty of tables and chairs inside too if you want to enjoy the sweets right there and then. So bummed that this place has gone way downhill. The donuts used to be really good and fresh tasting. Now they taste different (way too sweet, even for someone like me with a sweet-tooth) and the ingredients taste cheap. The donuts also look like amateurs are making them. The frosting looks sloppy, the chocolate has a weird artificial taste, and the overall look of the donuts seems off. They stopped making some flavors too. What we are not going to do is play around with Ms. Jacky's donuts. The first time I experienced these donuts was attending the church service across the street. We just decided to try out the church and they provided us with a glazed donut after church. One bite and I forgot all about the church service, my kids, my husband... I mean this donut was soft, sweet, perfectly glazed, fresh.... I mean the list goes on. Long story short... I never went back to the church... but I sure went back to Ms. Jacky's donuts. I tried the glazed twist, crumb twist, apple fritter and my goodness... all of them were delicious. My husband tried the maple, buttermilk, and old fashioned along with everything I've tried and he was never disappointed. My mom even said the donuts were amazing. God knew what He was doing when he brought me to that church... he provided me with something amazing that we could treat ourselves to from time to time. Love old fashioned doughnuts and old fashioned bars. They have both and both are amazingly delicious. They have tables for visiting and enjoying your doughnuts there or you can get your donuts to go. As many years as I have driven by this shop, I have never bought their doughnuts until the other day. I walked in and was warmly greeted by the folks behind the counter. I advised them I was going to order a dozen doughnuts. I ordered the same variety to try which I will do for any first time purchase from any doughnut shop to compare the quality from shop to shop. I ordered two lemon filled, two berry filled, two maple bars, two chocolate bars, two glazed twists and two sugar twists. For that dozen the price was $15.75. I also ordered one apple fritter that about $2.75. Depending on the type of doughnuts one selects, the pricing for a dozen doughnuts may increase in price. I brought the doughnuts home. I tried a lemon filled one and a sugar twist. First off, the dough used by Jacky's is richer than some of the other doughnuts I frequent in this area and the OC area. The sugar twist was soft and tasty. The lemon filled one was generously filled with lemon flavored filling which helped to cut the richness of the dough. Both were not greasy to eat. My wife devoured the entire apple fritter. I normally buy one to see how unsaturated or saturated the fritter is with the frying oil. Jacky's apple fritter were nicely fried and drained so the dough was not saturated with frying oil. A decent fritter. Jacky's has a decent selection of doughnuts and it's nice to see a really good Mom & Pop doughnut shop in the area. read more

I'm usually a sprinkled fan but the glazed are my new favorite. We've been back a couple times for it since and we usually have to hide the extras or they are gone in a day. Today I was joined at Jacky's by a friend, and we decided to sit and enjoy our coffee and donuts there at Jacky's I strayed from my usual crumb donut and ordered a bear claw, my friend had her usual plane cake donut. I was surprised to find the bear claw shaped donut full of apple filling, that was fine I like apples even though I thought it was very unconventional. However, after a few bites I realized the Bear claw was under cooked with pliable raw dough surrounding the apple filling. I thought easy enough with no line I would just ask to exchange it for any other doughnut, not so easy I was met with hostility and denial that the bear claw was under cooked, she didn't even look at it, Jacky showed no empathy and only offered shouts that it was cooked and would not exchange. WOW!!! Now I'm a pleasant person so I don't think it was me, and now I have come to realize that Jacky is an awful shop keeper who doesn't back up her product. With $2.00 for a 12-ounce sub-par drip coffee add .90 cent refills plus undercooked food I don't think... wait I know I will never return. read more
