We were actually one of those couples who originally planned to elope because we were worried a wedding would be overwhelming, stressful, and filled with hidden costs. Looking back now, choosing Vista Lago was one of the best decisions we made because they made the entire process feel so easy, seamless, and genuinely enjoyable from beginning to end. One of the biggest highlights was having a day-of coordinator INCLUDED in the package. Since she works directly with the venue, she knew absolutely everything top to bottom -- the timeline, vendors, setup, flow of the evening, and every behind-the-scenes detail. We never had to answer questions, solve problems, or stress about what came next because she already had everything handled before we even thought about it. We truly got to be fully present and enjoy our wedding day. The staff also went above and beyond all night long. They continuously brought us hors d'oeuvres, drinks, dinner, and cake so we actually got to enjoy all the amazing food during the wedding. At the end of the night, they carefully packaged all of our leftovers and even saved the top of our cake for us before we left. Those thoughtful details meant so much to us. I am being completely honest when I say I have no complaints. The evening went so smoothly thanks to the team at Vista Lago. They were constantly checking on my husband and I throughout our wedding. One of the most important details to me was the food and the food here was incredible. Everyone was raving about how great everything tasted. You have the ceremony, cocktail and reception all in one location. Not only is it great for weddings, but it is also great for baby showers, 15's, birthdays and a lot of other fun events. It has high ceilings with beautiful chandeliers. It's a gorgeous venue and the best value you will find in Miami. If you are anything like me and very indecisive and anxious, Vista Lago is the place to hold your wedding at. I am giving this place 1 star because it held the most magical day of my life. The location itself is beautiful, the building is clean, well maintained and the inside of the ballroom is gorgeous. The food is delicious and everyone loved it, the wait staff was only serving certain tables during cocktail hour. Our head tables didnt try the cocktail hour apps. Our wedding was rained out, so we had to improvise and have our ceremony inside. Thank god for our wedding planner because all the staff from this venue did was RUSH her... they didnt allow us to set up until 3PM and they didnt give us any staff to help set up because "you have your own wedding planner she can do it"... the day before the wedding I was being stressed about something I wanted last minute and instead of helping me they made it more stressful. To put the icing on the cake the owners never told us the lake was UNDER CONSTRUCTION. A big yellow bulldozer in the middle and a mountain of rocks would be the backdrop of our ceremony pictures, when everyone noticed including the photographers they told them "use photoshop" what kind of attitude is that? From the moment we met Raquel and Jose we knew we were in the right place! They took the time to explain every detail of what Vista Lago would offer us if we chose them for our wedding. Having previously been guests there at one of our best friend's wedding, we knew the quality was top notch. That helped us make the decision to book with them for our big day. This venue was overall everything I wanted! We wanted to have a little bit of the beach, feel without having to be outside for hours, and the inside is beautiful with the high ceilings. We booked this venue in February 2022 and the staff was very flexible with the number of guests and payments that had to be made leading up to November 11, 2023. as we got closer to the date, Shantal was very helpful in helping me finalize the final details and helping me book any other vendors that I needed. The last week before the wedding day my coordinator was in constant communication with the venue to ensure everything would be perfect and Racquel was amazing the day of. Racquel ensured that me and my now husband got hors d'oeuvres from happy hour as well as drinks, and she even went out of her way to take pictures of us on her phone, while the photographer was taking a few. I think that's a nice detail to mention, because at the end of the night I wanted to make sure I had some thing to see! The wedding coordinator was amazing. However, the owner basically stole money from us. We paid for a minimum amount of people. He said it's typical for the final numbers to change last minute as people forget to rsvp or have to cancel last minute. He told me to give him the "maybe's and pay for them so they would have a seat and we would adjust the cost at the end of the event. Two maybe's did not show. I emailed him twice to get the money for them and not even a response. We paid over $7,000. No return email and no refund. Ironic because I'm sure if two extra people showed up, he would be coming for that money. Stay away from this place. read more

Owner will tell you everything you want to hear for your venue but will treat your vendors like trash! Owner told our vendor, "Its my venue, my rules" very unprofessional. Their outdoor speakers dont work, they dont have square tables to offer clients, their one light they use to project on wall is super outdated. Yet they claim they know equipment. Their unprofessional pain in the ass place to book your event. Stay away! Ownership sucks and needs ppl to know how crappy their service is. Recently had my wedding here last week. Overall my experience was ok not the best. The reception is beautiful. Location is ok, stand alone building, very spacious. Food and music was good. I was an out of state bride planning a destination wedding. They do not accept cc by phone and or have a website to make payments. This was super annoying and they didn't budge. My cake was missing the decorations i was told where gonna be put on but i had to decorate the cake myself. On the day of my wedding Leydis wedding coordinator told me my wedding flowers would be delivered than that became an issue and they where never. They weren't accommodating with time on having us drop off the extra party supplies on the day of the wedding . My welcome table looked like there wasn't any effort put into it. Barely any pictures or story was posted on their social media. It made me feel kind of bad and added extra stress on my special day. I was recently a bridesmaid in a wedding that was held in Vista Lago. If it weren't because of the magic that weddings create I would give this place a one star. When my friend booked this venue she was excited - location is below average and their lake view was nice (prior to all the construction happening on the other side), but when "everything" is included for such a low price, you compromise. The venue itself is beautiful, rather than looking like a ballroom it photographs like a mansion. The interior is white with wooden floors and it serves as a perfect canvas for any event style. For food, the bride chose the chicken and steak dinner - it was average wedding food, but they did bring out chimichurri sauce that saved the plate. Here's why it could've been a one star: there was not a day during wedding planning that the bride didn't complain about something that was supposedly "included" but sucked. When it came to food, you could choose either chicken for everyone or steak for everyone - if you wanted your guests to have an option to choose either or, it wasn't allowed. They accommodate to have both on the plate...for more money. The cake was included, except it was hideous - if you wanted a decent cake with fondant, it was also significantly extra. The tables were also included, but if you wanted rectangular tables instead of round...it was also extra. Prices went up for everything! Drapes, lighting outside, table cloths, bars, vases, hours...so much alternated the cost my friend ended up paying like $11,000 dollars. For that, she could've chosen Thalatta and gotten married on a Thursday if anything. My friend didn't have an event coordinator but she did have a friend that helped throughout the whole process and knew the brides vision! The day of the wedding they only let us take things at 2:30 when the wedding was at 4:30. There was no prior event, that's just irrational nonsense! Our friend, who was designated to take items and set the wedding up was denied access inside because she wasn't a licensed coordinator! She was the one that knew exactly what the bride wanted and where! But the venue asked her to leave (rudely) and set everything up themselves...so many details were left out. They also called the bride the night before her wedding with extreme attitude and even after being asked to no longer contact the bride but the mother - they still did. Here's why it's two: my friend has good taste! Even though everything was extra and the process of everything before the wedding was a nightmare, it did in fact look beautiful. The bistro lighting, although $700 more, really did look magical for cocktail hour. My friends decision of having tall arrangements filled the room and every other choice that was extra really did add nice touches! Plus, when someone you love gets to marry someone they love deeply...everyone is just happy to be a witness. Overall, unless you're okay with their original set price and realize it doesn't include anything you probably want - I would suggest you look for something else! read more

Our experience with Vista Lago was great!! We had an awesome wedding and enjoyed our special day very much. We received plenty of compliments on all the decorations and the way the hall looked that day. Leydis was very sweet and made me feel ensured that everything would go smoothly the day of the wedding, as well as provided great suggestions. The day of the wedding Cecilia took care of everything in a phenomenal way and made sure I didn't have to raise a finger for anything (Thank you so much Cecilia!!). The reason that I am giving them four stars instead of five is because the day of the wedding I had multiple guests tell me the serving staff was rude to them and one of them even dropped a cup of the soda on the table and just left it there, did not clean it up right away. Obviously the day of the wedding that was very awkward and embarrassing to hear such complaints. I let Cecilia know and like a true professional she addressed it immediately. Also the whole time leading up to the wedding I was dealing with and communicating with Leydis, which made me feel at ease because I had met with her personally several times and she knew exactly every little detail for the day of the wedding. On the actual day I was kind of blindsided to see Cecilia there, whom I had not built rapport with at all and had not discussed everything with in detail. I feel that being informed prior that Cecilia was going to be my coordinator the day of the wedding and having a chance to build rapport with her would have been better and made me feel better. The reason this was an issue for me was because the day of the wedding although the centerpieces were beautiful they were not the way I have discussed and chosen with Leydis the day of my tasting so I was a little bummed about that. After looking around for wedding venues, I decided to visit this one after getting a recommendation from my mom's co-worker who was getting married here. After calling, I was told the date I wanted was already booked (I called 19 months in advance!). Jose, one of the owners, got on the phone (very nicely) and suggested the weekend before (which made sense). I agreed to go in and check out the venue. Long story short, although location is in the middle of nowhere, building itself is gorgeous and perfect for weddings. The package they offered was the cherry on top.. upgraded linens, chivalry chairs, food, DJ, LED lights, cake, centerpieces, etc.. ALL included (like.. what else can you ask for?). I automatically booked the date and paid deposit. I didn't feel like I needed to continue to search around. Fast forward to a year later (closer to the wedding).. Jose continued to be VERY nice. His wife, Raquel, not so much. She needs to take some courses on how to speak to clients (especially when they're brides!!). Last thing we need is more stress and frustrations from speaking to your "wedding planner". It's normal for brides to have questions and for everything to go perfect. She always seemed bothered by my emails and sounded very sarcastic with her "!" after every word. A week before the wedding, I asked them for a final invoice (no, they hadn't send me one yet). Then, after getting the invoice, it was MY responsibility to get them to money ASAP. A check wasn't good enough since it wouldn't clear in time. She instead suggested I take cash or debit with an additional 2% charge (do the math). Jose, the nice one as usual, got on the phone with me and very nicely suggested a wire transfer. Super convenient option (which not sure why Raquel couldn't suggest). Wedding date went VERY smoothly and everything looked great. DJ/MC was FANTASTIC!! Cecilia and Leydis were both great. The food was honestly the best, the DJ Rolando was outstanding and most of all Leydis the event coordinator was the most helpful, tentative to detail and kept the wedding running smoothly. We purchased the elegant tent for outside due to the possibility of rain (which it did) and the ceremony was beautiful. Jose the owner has an amazing staff and the ballroom was out of this world. You would have honestly though it was a million dollar wedding. All of our guests were completely stunned on how perfect this wedding was. Ceci was amazing , she was with us throughout the wedding and made sure we were taken care of throughout the whole night. She also organized everyone for the ceremony and party entrance making sure everyone was good and in their place. I felt welcome as soon as I walked in on the wedding day. Jose asked me if I liked everything if I wanted to change something. However everything was already perfect.
