Pioneer also has stain products. John is going to help me get the right stuff to spruce up my dinged kitchen cabinets. I can't wait. Another sales associate and I briefly discussed subjectivity when I whined about the sales person who told me Greek Villa and Swiss Coffee would work together (note: THEY DO NOT). Benjamin does not toy with subjectivity. He has vast knowledge and helped us with paint for walls and cabinetry in a 20' x 35' room. Nine months later we returned for advice for paint to go on 1900 square feet of walls with cathedral ceilings, existing blonde brick; many variables to consider. One thing I noticed out there--every impeccably restored home I visited used Dunn-Edwards paint. Problem: they don't have stores east of the Mississippi. Solution: Vicky. I reached out online and was lucky enough to get paired with Vicky as my color advisor. She's been nothing short of incredible. I sent her photos, floorplans, reference images--she took it all in and gave thoughtful, expert advice, suggesting colors I never would have considered but that turned out to be perfect. She even offered smart alternatives to some of my original picks and explained the reasoning behind each suggestion. She knows color. I ordered samples through the Dunn-Edwards website, and they shipped fast, well-packed, and complete. The moment I applied them, I could tell the quality was next level--the depth, the richness, the way the colors shift subtly with light. Beautiful. Now I'm placing the full order to ship to NYC (yes, they ship paint for free--huge perk). I'm all in on Dunn-Edwards, and Vicky made the entire experience enjoyable, easy, and inspiring. He pretty much just uses Sherman-Williams paints for all of his work. This store off Oswell Street is absolutely awesome. One of the kids that works in the store has an Art Degree and really knows colors. All of the staff at the store are very knowledgeable in what they do. Similar to the Apple employees they have to go through extensive training to be employed. After about 5 trips getting multiple samples we are finally on our way to having the house painted. I was thoroughly impressed with manager Brent's level of exerptise and patience. His willingness to listen and share ideas surpassed the level of customer service that customers hope for. I'd been erroneously advised about two white colors that would not pair well and there we were slapping sample colors up on the walls at home and being horrified. The white we'd been advised to sample, looked much like a green towel that had accidentally been bleached. I frantically called the store and Brent empathetic ally and deftly redirected us back to warmer whites. Not once did he malign the other salesperson at a sister store who had provided me with non-coordinating colors and who hadn't discussed light reflectivity numbers. Thank you Brent.
