Super nice staff. The front office manager is excellent and very helpful with the insurance piece. And of course Dr. Jeff Anderson is a wonderful, friendly and competent dentist. He listens to his patients. I asked for 1/2 the anesthetic so that I wouldn't be numb for many hours afterward from a filling. He did just that and 90 minutes later I was having dinner no problem and no pain during the procedure or after. I'm a Happy patient. read more

My stepfather who was like a father to me had been my dentist since I was 14 years old, and he had been my children's only dentist. So it was hard finding a new dentist when my father retired, but I'm so happy we found Dr. Fox!!! This morning I called his office because a molar was bothering me and appeared to be cracked. His receptionist had me come in at 1pm so he could take a look, and sure enough it was cracked and needed a crown. When I arrived Tanya, who I had spoken to on the phone had already contacted my insurance company and confirmed that I was eligible for a crown, if needed. By 4:30pm this afternoon (same day) I had a new permanent crown that looks and feels GREAT! Dr. Fox and his staff are very professional, friendly and informative... I moved from Hawaii and I needed a good dentist. My teeth needed a cleaning very badly, and due to Covid I had not had my teeth cleaned in Hawaii in 2 years. I also needed a new retainer. Dr. Anderson is very kind and very thoughtful. His staff is informative, and they explained the potential need for a deep cleaning etc. The Dental Hygienist provided me with excellent dental care. Wow! What an interesting front office Manager. I don't believe I have ever heard the leader of a team speak so rudely to fellow team members. I am shocked that She has been able to retain any employees. And it's a shame that Dr Fox will be losing patients as a result. I had an opportunity to overhear Marlene speaking to the assistants in the most demeaning manner, it actually made my stomach hurt. This is another review that was a long time coming. We (my better half and I, and one of our kids) have been going to Dr. Fox now for a couple years. It was only because our former dentist closed shop that we started going to Dr. Fox. Their office is located on West Vista Way (running parallel to highway 78) in the Vista Medical and Dental Arts building. Parking can be pretty interesting you're first time going there, but you'll get used to it...LOL. When you first pull in, the driveway turns to the right and up a hill. Parking is in the back. Dr. Fox is quite an accomplished dentist. He provides services in his office that other dentists would normally consult out. In fact, it was because of a survey that his receptionist asked me to fill out that I got in for a sleep study to evaluate me for possible sleep apnea (the jury is still out on that one, should be getting the results soon). His staff is very friendly and go the extra mile to make you feel at ease. The office staff thinks that I don't like coming in, but I couldn't think of another dentist that I would rather have take care of me. Thank you Dr. Fox and staff...love you guys!!! read more

UPDATE: Dr. Fox contacted me and rectified the quote issue with a partial refund. The rest of the previous review below still stands. ___________ +1 star for Dr. Fox's looks and demeanor and for putting my crown back on--we'll see how long *that* lasts. And that's it. They quoted me 129 for crown re-placement on the phone. I get in. They gouge it up to 252 and pretend to give me a 25 dollar discount (with prices like that, clearly a sham) and bring it down to 227. My other (fantastic, btw) dentist put my other terrible crown back on for 75 dollars total. That should give you an idea of how outrageous his pricing is. But it isn't just the price gouging--it's the fact that they quoted me one thing and then charged me nearly double after the fact. *One X-ray* was 50 dollars. One. Insane. Then he casually mentioned how my three-weeks-fresh amalgam filling was potentially structurally insufficient and even went as far as mentioning toxicity, which is completely debunked: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3388771/ He suggested I replace the filling with a composite or even crown it! Zeus knows that I'm in this freaking mess in the first place because of yet another *cosmetic* dentist in Florida who uses Cerec crowns who suggested I crown my two pitted molars. Do not come here unless you want to leave with an empty wallet. Do not come here unless you want to be deceived about scientific consensus regarding dental toxicity. Do not come here unless you want to coaxed into entirely unnecessary procedures that will no doubt be exorbitant in price. You have been warned. P.S. - Wonder why there are so many 5 star reviews? Being an extremely nervous dental patient, I find it difficult to find a Dr. I'm comfortable with. I'm a new patient to Dr. Fox, transferring from Coast Dental whom I didn't have a good experience with. Dr. Fox is amazingly relaxing. His voice and demeanor give a calm that is much appreciated when dealing with dental work. The staff and office are outstanding, it's quiet, with friendly always ready to help staff. I wish I had come across Sr. Fox last year before I had extensive dental done with another dentist, I suspect my experience would have been better with Sr. Fox. Dr. Fox is AWESOME. I had not been to the dentist in seriously like 10 + years due to a bad experience and the lack of dental insurance. I recently got a job that had dental insurance worth getting and decided I should probably pay the dentist a visit. Not knowing where to go I took my boyfriends advice and went to Vista Smiles top see Dr. Fox and his staff. My boyfriend found him and had work done and told me I wouldn't regret going. I made my appointment and was a little disappointed that I couldn't get in sooner, but trust me the wait was worth while. After my visit I could totally understand why it took a little longer to get an appointment. The office really cares about their patients and takes the TIME to provide the best care. I didn't wait more then 5 min in the waiting room and once my X-rays were done Dr. Fox was in the room ready to check things out. A lot of offices seem to double book their patients and then put them on a conveyer belt to try and get as many patients in for appointments in a short amount of time. I am very thankful that in this office, that was not the case. I really appreciate that the staff even took the time to cater to my horrible gaging reflex. Instead of making me uncomfortable with the X-ray film in my mouth for longer periods of time the assistant grabbed another staff member to help, cutting the amount of time in half that the film piece was in my mouth which resulted in me not gagging on the damn thing :). I believe that small things like that are what make this office so successful. I really felt like everyone there was on my side and wanted to help me. I didn't feel like Dr. Fox wanted to do work that wasn't needed. He truly listened to everything I had to say. I never once felt criticized. I will be recommending this office to all my friends and family. Thank you to everyone who helped make my experience pleasant, and thank you Dr. Fox for taking the time to see me. Dr. Fox and his staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable... I have had several check ups and cleanings done and have always felt extremely comfortable in his office. Recently, I had a front tooth that needed a new crown. Not only did Dr. Fox and his staff replace it, but found a way to make it look better and feel better. For starters, I'm not one for reviewing places. However, this place has been a saving grace for my family and I. I was a new patient to Dr. Anderson and his very well trained and managed team/staff. They really have a solid vibe all around, guys. They got myself AND my son in on emergencies on two separate occasions, absolutely last minute. Working with my dental situation, for me, is quite embarrassing and can be intimidating to face the nature of my case. This team from front to back, start to finish, are the absolute package. Professionalism is present and The experience is not only "comfortable and welcoming" as any office advertises; but exciting for me to grasp the "light at the end of the tunnel." No judgment. No fear. All answers and solutions with a family feel. I will follow them any and all advice as well as help they provide, to not only me, but my son and daughter as well. Am I the only one that hates going to the dentist, but then I go and think WHY THE HECK DID I WAIT SO LONG?! Dr. Fox gives you that feeling. You can't figure out where the dislike for dentists comes from! His staff is amazing. Getting a call after a visit to the dentist doesn't seem like a good thing, but they are just checking up on you too see how things are going. Marlene is very helpful and understanding. I don't have insurance and instead of just taking as much money as they could, she pointed me towards some ways of helping coping with the, surprisingly, little costs to my visits. I'm writing this review today because it has been almost one year since my dental bridge was completed and I honestly couldn't be happier with the results. I have been going to Dr. Fox for a few years now, and have been extremely pleased. He is a wonderful dentist and his office staff have always been friendly. Every time I have come, in the office is clean and and they always make sure I am comfortable. I am not a fan of dentistry work but Dr. Fox and Marlene have always made sure to explain my procedures in detail so I know what's going on. However, what I like the best about this practice is that Dr. Fox has always only done work that he been necessary (there have been some issues that he felt could take time to take care of, rather than convincing me to get the work done right away) and explained to me the differences in work I would like to have done. Also, I really appreciate that when I come in for an appointment I am not sitting on the waiting room for 30 mins before I am called back. read more

Vista Smiles keeps me smiling! Dr Fox has the best ran office I have ever been to in 39 years of life! Marlene who sets appointments understands the importance of time. As a business owner I rarely have time for myself. I don't do follow up apts. I expressed to Marlene that I don't do needles and I needed a deep cleaning. I could not believe walking into Dr. Fox office I was seen within minutes. X-rays and all kinds of gadgets. Soon after Candice began my exam. She quickly realized I had, I HAD! Gum Disease! so gross! Candice was aware I did not want a needle and surprise again! Candice went to work! She did an entire deep cleaning and removed my embarrassment in a short time. Glad we finally found our family dentist! Located in Vista. Dr. Fox is a wonderful dentist, he has done great dental work on both my husband and I and our 3 teens. He is very up to date on all the latest medical dental knowledge out there and is very professional, yet easy to talk to, I just always feel very comfortable in his care & while having dental work done. He has great assistants that work along beside him, I really enjoy talking to them, sweet girls. His staff is great, friendly, attentive and just very helpful, we seem to get our appointments in even with our very busy schedules that all 5 of us have. Even my kids like him and the staff, that is a huge plus for me. I've been going to Dr. Fox for years and I've had a lot of dental work from him as well as other dentists so I'm well qualified to recommend a good dentist. You're in good hands with Dr. Fox and his staff including and especially Marlene (I strongly disagree with the negative comments about her. She runs a tight ship - the office is well managed and organized and that's one of the reasons that Dr. Fox is able to concentrate on quality dentistry). Dr. Fox is extremely thorough and fair and does not gauge his patients. I insisted on having a removable appliance instead of implants where 2 teeth were missing and Dr. Fox strongly discouraged me - I did it anyway, which was a mistake, and ended up doing the implants and crowns. Dr. Fox felt very bad that he hadn't been insistent enough (impossible because I was determined) so clearly he isn't out for money. He's very concerned about his patients well being and he's conservative when it comes to suggesting treatment. Be very careful when dealing with this practice. One cavity? That's what you think but then you get there for the second appointment to get it filled and it suddenly becomes two. Time and time again, dentists seem to disappoint me- either their prices are too high, their customer service is horrible, or you wait an hour to be seen when you show up EARLY to your appointment. Let's start off by saying that I had the biggest fear of going to the dentist... I have had absolutely horrible experiences. But last year I decided it was time to get back in the chair. I told them that I was very nervous and everyone in the office assured me I would be fine... and if fact I was... very caring people. They made sure at all times I was very comfortable. From the time you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile. I like that. Everything I go in the service is prompt which is definitely a plus. A few months ago I had a friend that broke his tooth and needed it fixed. I suggested that he call the office and speak to marlene. She fit him in right away, which was nice. Who wants to go around with a broken tooth forever? He called me right before he went in and said he was nervous and had also had bad experiences before... I told him not to worry the staff would take care of him. And they did... he called me when he was done and thanked me for sending him there. And just a few days ago I had another procedure done and a few hours after Dr fox personally called me to make sure I was doing ok. In fact I was, but I call that amazing service...
