We first learned of Vitalife from your show, Windy City Live, a show we like and trust. Vitalife's claim to fame was learn how to lose weight and keep it off, without having to work out like crazy and learning how to eat in a healthy way for our own individual needs. We went to the office (in the Schaumburg office which wasn't on Yelp) and they start out by looking over our general weight and health. They explain that Vitalife is a diet plan that you stick to for 40 days then a maintenance time after, and you can either stop there or repeat the cycle until you are to your goal weight. Sounded similar to other diet plans and they really sold the individualization of it all. All mind you, while you are in a room that you are being recorded visually and audio without them clearly telling you. It is stated out the main entrance that there is surveillance on the property, but not in this manner. At times the salesman even said he'd give us a few moments to discuss between ourselves to decide, and then would return even more convincing and encouraging. That's because he was watching and listening to our assumed private conversation without our knowledge. We signed up thinking this was a customized diet plan for $1,200. Expensive, but they sold it well. Then they have you do a scan of putting your hand on a metal sensor, which is a scam. It tells you a ton of random things that you would need multiple blood tests from medical and mental health professionals to know. For example, a red flag for us was that it told me I had a reading/input from my gallbladder, which I have been told by gastrointestinal specialists my whole life is non-functioning. They also give you "affirmations" that are supposed to pertain to our "needs" such as "I won't be upset about mistakes made with money" or "I will remember to live in God's image." These affirmations were completely disjointed from anything they know about us, and myself being a certified mental health therapist, they are inappropriate and irresponsible. They then come out with a bag full of 7 different substances that you are supposed to take in excess daily, while starving yourself. Eating 8-10 oz of protein, 1 piece of fruit, and vegetables a day for 40 days. They do state to make sure not to eat less than 500 calories a day, but give little guidance as to how many calories different produce is or how to find this. The amounts of food they were saying to eat would put most people into starvation mode and could cause major health issues. Not to mention the substance are chalked full of random things, with little to no explanation on what is in them, and by non-medical professionals. We were warned not to drink one of them too fast because it would make us sick and to drink it over the course of 3-5 hours. What the hell is in that, that would make us sick!?! and I am being advised to ingest this everyday for over a month!?! Between the recommendation to starve yourself and take an abundance of "substances" throughout the day, my mother and I who had misguidedly signed up for this program would have ended up sick. We left their office overwhelmed and confused, having all of our answers either dodged or answered in circular responses providing no real information. We got home and read the plan fully, not been given the chance to in the office, and we're appalled at the negligence of this program. I personally wasn't even given any printout from my "scan" because of "printer issues", so was not able to even read it until I got home. It also says not to work out while on the program, probably because it would cause someone in starvation mode to pass out and need medical attention. Any weight loss plan that says explicitly not to work out is clearly unhealthy. Everyone knows a healthy, well rounded diet and exercise is what is needed for a healthy lifestyle. Last but not least, the back of the book starts talking about how we need to live pure and in God's image, quoting the Old Testament and comparing the purity of Adam and Eve. None of this was mentioned in the office or their sales pitch. We called as soon as the office was open to cancel and they told us they were going to keep $600 of what we had signed on for, for the price of the "scan" which produced a bunch of non-sense. Also, that we were required to return the heavy bag full of substances they had given us. We are now angry and feeling used and misguided. They sold their program as something very different from what it was and are now stealing hundreds of dollars from people, like us, that they trick. Don't buy into this program for your health and financial well-being. This program has aspects of scam and cult-like feeling. It starts as something sounding legitimate and then as soon as you sign their contract, it ends up being something very different. read more

The loan company says that they did not authorize that plan. I have the promissory note and the agreement I signed with Vita Life, stating those terms. Vita Life has stopped responding to my emails. I would like to give a real world perspective on this so-called "diet" for the public - especially anyone like me influenced by actual testimonials. Do Not Pursue This "Diet". I have my reasons... Sure, every "diet" will give you results!...temporarily. And that's what this "diet" is good for. I was sold from the get-go. The owner, Davis Jaspers himself, sold me from the free dinner idea to the "I'm a true Christian" talk all the way down til he sued me. Yes, this wealthy, "Christian" man sued me. Why? Well, I fell for his free dinner in 2017. I wanted to learn more about losing weight. I went to his office, was skeptical and he picked up on that. He took me aside personally to talk about how bad my health and my weight is right now and if I don't join his program, I will most likely die young. Scared and vulnerable, I decided I should join his program. Then I found out the price. $2,500. It was not disclosed to me that aside from this large expense I also had to purchase special water drops, food, soaps, skincare, and other dietary needs outside of the $2,500 cost. There are many medical references on the Vitalife (Vitality) website referencing this "diet" and I'd like to point out as quoted from Davis' biography; "Davis worked on his Master's in Theology, but didn't finish. He PLANS on becoming a Certified Nutrition Specialist." He's not remotely close to giving medical treatment, yet claims to be an expert. As a Christian myself, going to a Christian man for dietary advice and assuming his medical advice was valid, be warned that there are many wolves in sheep skin and this is one of them. After a few months on this "diet" I heard from other people trying this out that they were offered promotional rates MUCH lower than mine. So, there is no set cost to this "diet". Knowing my low income, I was shocked to hear this news. I stopped paying since I had already made payments equivalent as to what others are signing up to pay to join the "diet". Still, I was served lawsuit paperwork for the large amount that no one else is paying anymore. Between the lawsuit and what I originally paid, I know I paid much more than what people are paying for this scam. That's all this is - a scam to see how much you're a sucker. How much will you pay? To this day, I still get advertisements to join Vita - whatever they call themselves now. Don't trip into a sinkhole! read more

Zero stars is the only acceptable rating. They use predatory and deceptive sales while selling this program as a "miracle". The reality is, this program is extreme, almost impossible to follow. I spent a week afraid to eat anything for fear my deviating would negate the whole thing. I went back the next week and tried to quit but was convinced they could adjust the program and I would be fine. Next week, same thing. By then, it was way too late for any refund. I paid $1200 up front and am locked into $99.99 month for at least 12 months. And it will continue until I physically go there and sign a withdrawal form. I hope I don't miss the deadline. I was threatened by Monica at New Lenox that if I tried to stop their auto charges on my card they would send it to a collection agency and I would be liable for all legal fees. I was tempted to contact my son-in-law who is a lawyer but I'm so embarrassed to be such a foolish sucker, I couldn't. read more

I booked consultation appointments for my boyfriend and I over the phone a month ago and paid $27.00 each. I was told that if I needed to cancel I could do so 24 hours before our appointments and that my money would be refunded. I did some digging (they don't tell you this on their website or when you call to book), but their program costs thousands of dollars! I called to cancel our appointments for Saturday this morning (over 48 hours in advance), and was informed by Monica in the New Lenox office that "it is not their policy" to refund consultation fees and that I could use that money in one of their stores on food or beverages. What a joke! How many businesses refuse to refund appointment fees if cancelled well ahead of time? Stay away from this predatory business! Oh, and Monica? I went in with an open mind about Vitalife..the "salesman" was very quick to tell me all the good things about the diet, failed to tell me exactly how much it would cost monthly in supplements. Your initial costs are a little over $1000 at sign-up, if you pay it in one lump sum, if not the cost is higher. You then have an $80 a month membership fee for the next 6 months that is billed to your credit card. On top of that, there are supplement fees monthly, which ranged from $180 to $240 a month depending on what showed up on your scan. About those body scans...it was quite interesting when my scan showed that my gallbladder was abnormal and they added another supplement to the monthly bag. It was abnormal alright, It was also removed about 30 years ago. When I brought that fact up to the person who saw me that day, they were flustered and gave me some "out in left field" explanation, "nope, take that supplement out of the bag, I'm not buying it." Sometimes I would have a scan and the amount of a certain supplement they would have me taking to correct the issues was 8 or 9 capsules a day of just that one supplement, which meant buying 2 or 3 bottles of it to get me to the next scan...no thank you! I signed a contract, it was all on me and I was stuck with them for 6 months, but I stopped going after a few months and just chalked that lost money up to not doing my research and being taken. I told myself I saved a ton of money by not being sucked into their monthly supplement fees. Don't let all the hype fool you! Do your research, ask a lot of questions when you go for your consultation. From the client photos on their walls, it would seem they have helped a lot of clients, I wasn't one and got sucked in. They need to be more upfront with their monthly costs and what exactly those monthly supplements do because the one they thought they were going to sell me for my "gallbladder issue" wouldn't have done anything to fix that! read more

My best advice is if you are not looking to lose over 100lbs. Please walk away. I went into the facility and my goal was only to lose 20lbs. I was skeptical about signing up in the first place so the owner (patricia) allowed me to do a 6 month period. I was told about the cancellation process, but was informed I would only be charged for the scan. I was okay with that. When I tried to cancel, I had to call a numerous amount of times and was given the runaround's. I signed up on a Saturday, and was communicating concerning cancelling my contract on Sunday and Monday, I came into the office to cancel my contract. I was set to begin the program on Monday. I was given about 4 pill bottle and I had used 2 out of 1 bottle and maybe one out of 2 of the bottles. I was told to bring in the merchandise and I would be refunded the remainder. However, this did not happen, when I brought in the products (monica) informed me that I would receive an invoice with me getting back the leftover money. I called for 2 days and to no avail was ignored. Finally someone reached back out to me and said I would not get a refund. I returned the products that I PAID FOR!!!!!!! I feel this is unfair to consumers, to lie to people and get them out of their money. I paid for products that they took back. So if you are not looking to lose a significant amount of weight. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. I have put in a dispute with my bank and they wrote back my bank "LYING"about my experience and how I was excited.
