Facilities - standard PT office, but it's located in The Sporting Club, so you also have access to the extensive gym equipment, running track, etc. while you're there. 3. Experience - The manager Bob Molluro is a 3rd generation physical therapist, so it's in his blood. He's very personable and a great motivator, and his safe, conservative yet challenging approach is both reassuring and confidence inspiring. I've personally made incredible progress under his care, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and this NovaCare location which he manages.

In both cases, she gave me details on what muscle groups I had that were underdeveloped, and provided me with a list of exercises to do at home to strengthen those muscles. The fact that this facility is located in a gym is a huge bonus, too. Any machine you need to work a specific set of muscles is just steps away, and the "ambiance" of gym sounds while recovering from my injuries helped my spirits somewhat. (He usually gives me great recommendations so my expectations were high.). Scott was snarky, arrogant, and brushed off a lot of my feedback that the exercises were causing me pain. He seemed to have a one size fits all approach to why people have back pain and the exercise they should do and if it is causing pain, you are doing it wrong. Perhaps I was, but then why couldn't he help troubleshoot with me to get it right? I used to be a dancer, have a pretty high degree of understanding of body mechanics, and am quite accustomed to taking strict instruction about how to move my body in specific ways. I was really disappointed. I badly want to improve the quality of my life and diminish my pain. This was a complete disappointment. Time to start the process all over again with shopping around for a new therapist.

My last two places were, in a word, awful. They assigned one therapist to 2-3 people at once, so you'd spend an hour for 20 minutes of actual treatment - if you're lucky. They point you to a machine and move on to the next person. Justin was with me the entire hour. He tailored the workout to me. He knows when to push (think football coach) and when to ease off because your body won't take it. He knows physiology and has an exercise for everything. And he's got a terrific sense of humor. (Be sure to tell him about your cats - he loves them.) Justin is also totally honest. Unlike some PT places in the city, he won't try to rope you into more sessions than you need. When you're done, you're done. My knee healed really fast, just a few months after the break, I'm way ahead of where most people are at this point. (Of course I went to all the sessions and did exercises at home too. Justin gave me very good diagrams and they've got online capabilities too. The location is fantastic. It's convenient and well-appointed. Where else do you go to PT and see a waiting room with tables, coffee, fruit and the New York Times? It's the classiest PT place in town. Their rates are reasonable. I couldn't believe what I was getting when my insurance paid the same (or more) for PT that was a waste of time. I'm writing this during the lockdown. I was so impressed that, when we're allowed to go to gyms again, I'm going back for some personal training. And I can't imagine going anywhere else for PT.

I only had to wait about 15 minutes before being taken back to the exam room. The person who did the intake was efficient and nice. Dr. Wang was also very nice. He answered my questions, explain the x-ray and was gentle when touching my hand. The physical therapist, Zach, what is also nice and knowledgeable. He gave me the splint, and showed me how to put it on. He answered some questions I had. From the time I checked in till the time I left the staff here were all really nice. I felt like I was seeing as a whole person not just a medical case. I'm really glad I came here for a second opinion.
