In general, I do not go to the doctor unless I absolutely have to. And then I prefer the most minimal treatment possible. I have been dealing with epilepsy for years. She is the first doctor who really took the effort to make sure we caught a seizure so we can properly diagnose the type of seizure for the best possible treatment. Most doctors in the past just said as long as I wasn't having seizures we should just continue treatment as always. I finally know the exact type of seizures I have and since. She also listened to my questions and provided me with answers (which I could actually understand) and we worked together to develop a plan of action to improve my health. In my opinion she is an excellent doctor. I have doctors within my family that considered transfer me to the university's hospital but it was just as good, possibly better care under her. Dr Mateja de Leonni Stanonik is one of the best doctors I have ever met. I suffer from migraine pain that has been difficult to deal with. Dr. Leonni spent time with me from the first visit and even called me several times discuss my care. Her devotion to patient care admirable. There is no neurologist that I would prefer. This doctor is so egotistical. In front of me she was very disrespectful to her nurse and her front desk person. She flashes her diamonds like she is a princess. I found her to be mean and quite conceited. I'm in Human Resources and I'm sure she has a high turn over in staff. Dr. Stanonik is and has been most caring I have searched for years for a neurologist who will take the time and have the interest in my particular issues, resulting from a TBI from an accident at work. I can't say enough good things about Dr. de Leonni Stanonik!
