The staff were all smilingly polite. I was a grumpy grouch at first. The technician, Gabriella(?) was calm and seemed competent as she wired me up for an EEG. It all went well except the particular room I was in was a bit chilly and the rolled up towel being used as a pillow weren't conducive to relaxation. It had been some time since I had seen a neurologist and after 6 months of uncontrolled migraines, my PCP referred me to Western Neuro. I loved my experience.. until I didn't. The doctor was very thorough and I felt like my concerns were heard which I appreciated. I left with several referrals and tests after my initial appointment. I felt overwhelmed but I got it done. It wasn't until an EEG and a diagnosis I disagreed with, when things went wrong. I was prescribed a medication which I never took because I trusted my gut and sought a second opinion. If seeking care here, I highly encourage you to be your own advocate. I felt I was being treated based on tests and not symptoms which led me to another practice. read more

The office staff, medical assistant and nurse practitioner were wonderful. The NP Misty Miller were very thorough and responded to all of our concerns. She sent us withe referrals and contacted my pharmacy for a new medication right away. read more

If you are a patient of any TMC facility, don't bother trying to get an appointment. I had a referral from my Dr, who is a TMC provider. I called to schedule appointment and was told they never received the referral, so I asked my Dr office to send it again. I didn't hear anything after a week, so I called back and was told they received it, but that it has to be reviewed first and that they would contact me. 2 weeks later, no word from them, so I called back only to be told that it's because they don't see TMC patients. I asked for an explanation and was told that it's because of the limited number of neurology appointments available in the community, that they have to limit who they will see, so apparently they chose all of TMC patients to exclude. That's not what I'm complaining about, I understand if they have to decide to see some patients and not others if they just don't have the room - it's about the fact that I have waited all this time and no one reached out to explain this to me. And why when I called about the referral in the first place did they not tell me this, instead of letting me wait 3 weeks? I get that they obviously don't need the business, so why worry about practicing good business practice. They don't need to worry about getting or keeping a patient. It really makes me question how they treat their patients since they obviously don't need to worry about keeping them. read more

I just got a call from them (after 5 PM when the office is closed) that my appointment for Friday afternoon (less than 2 days away) was cancelled due to the PA John Marino not being available. EDIT: Oct. 23, 2015. I got a quick response to this review from them. It was the usual apology. In the response, they gave an email and ask me to respond to that email with my email, phone number and name. I did that around 16 days ago and have heard nothing from them. I've had a really bad taste in my mouth for 4 months. My dentist, GI and ENT have eliminated all possible causes in their field. The ENT said it could be neurological and I should see a neurologist. I did some research. The Cleveland Clinic and John's Hopkins, both well respected. They both have a huge list of possible causes. I've eliminated all but one. They list 3 neurological conditions that can cause the bad taste-Parkinson's, MS and Alzheimer's, and should be eliminated. I am 69 yeas old. So to see 2 of those things, that are seen in older people, scared me. And I wanted these conditions eliminated. My primary referred me to Western Neuro. I was assigned to Dr Kendra Drake. After 10 days had passed, they hadn't called. So, I called them. They sent me to Dr Drake's assistant. She told me Dr Drake said there was no reason to see me. COVID or old age can cause this. Never even asked me if I've had COVID. WOW! She's right, they can both cause this. But, shouldn't other, more serious things be eliminated? To say I was blown away is an understatement. My advice, stay away from Western Neuro. If they hire doctor's like Dr Drake, how can you trust them? Maybe the reason their rating is 2.4 in Goggle. read more

I was in a car accident back in September. I was referred to Western Neuro. I called after the referal was sent as I had not heard from them after a week. Cindy, answered and said that "they would call me if I was approved to go to see their doctor and it could take up to 6 weeks." When she finally called she said the referal was for migrains. It was not, it was for a several broken bones and headaches due to those broken bones, whiplash and a concussion. I said "It's not migranes, but I guess it doesn't matter. She said well then you have to get a whole new referal since it isn't migraines. I said why do I have to do that, I just want to get in and see the doctor and i can go over what is going on. she told me NO that I cannot do that, I had to go through the whole process again. So, I called the doctor that sent the referal, waited two weeks for them to call and ended up having to call the neuro dr. again because nobody contacted me. Again speaking with Cindy. She said they had a new referal and the one sent in October, the patient refused to use the referal because it wasn't correct. Really??? I was in pain and wanted to see a doctor, it didn't matter to me in the lease what that stupid referal said. SHE was the one that said I had to get a new referal. She fought with me on the phone stating she didnt' say that and that basically I was a liar. Why would I not want to see a doctor, when I am in pain, just because the wording was wrong on a form. Seriously!!! Fast forward to today, months after I was supposed to get in to see a neuro dr. she called again and said there was a referal. I said for what and she said for migraines, that the one sent in October was denied by the patient because it was incorrect. I told her no, you are the lady that lied and alled me a liar and I would never work with those doctors because of her. She was the snottiest lady I have every spoken with. If they have that type of receptionist up front, why would I want to work with them? It tells me how unprofesssional their office is. Unfortunately, I had need for a neurosurgeon and my primary care doctor recommended this medical practice. After an initial frustrating mixup with scheduling me with a doctor who doesn't work with my need, I was assigned to Dr Andrew Montoure. The office staff worked with me to get me scheduled in a timely manner and helped in figuring out insurance issues. Dr Montoure was kind, compassionate, never in a rush to get my appointment over, and answered my many questions with patience. He, or his staff, is always quick to get back to me if I leave a message or contact them via the patient portal. He successfully performed the surgery I needed and was just as good with my follow-up care. I feel very fortunate to have him as my surgeon and feel confident in his expertise in this area. I don't have any experience with other surgeons or neurologists in the practice, but I highly recommend Dr Montoure. read more

Saw a new Nuero Doc that had been at Banner. I have had neuropathy for 15 years and not affected my driving, and she's seen me at Banner. She blindsided me telling me I needed t get a medical review driving test at some third party in Oro valley. They called me and the cost was insane. I told that facility Id use the state ADOT. Evidently, that private arty called the doc and said I wouldn't take the test? I then find out by calling the Docs office, the Doc had sent a document telling ADOT to remove my Drivers license? There was o call to me nor warning and no time given to get the test and only 3 weeks and gone by from the doc visit. I fired them and will warn all of you to avoid this place s they will blind side you and I even asked for my records and they refuse. That's a crime! read more

I would've given them five stars had it not been for one of the secretaries, who would do well to attend a sensitivity training class. Taylor Ward, PA, is smart, and she has a most amazing bedside manner. She listens intently, is well focused, cares about your condition, and will get to the bottom of your issue. She truly cares. I feel extremely confident, secure, and safe under her care. Dr. Sipos it's likewise smart, has a very good communication style, which is clear and concise, and asks you if you have any questions. They make a great team, and I feel fortunate to be under their care. I would also like to mention one of their supervisors, Shauna, who has top notch customer service skills. I have chronic refractory Willis Ekbon Disease commonly known as Restless Leg Syndrome which is a condition that I was told this Medical Group was knowledgeable about. That is not the case. I am a life time sufferer of this condition who experienced augmentation on a commonly prescribed drug I quit cold turkey after being on my feet with no sleep for three days as well as two trips to an Emergency Room. Patients like me respond only to low dose opioids. I brought in several informative papers including one from Mayo Clinic stating clearly that a low dose opiod is the most effective treatment for someone like myself. I have tried several different drugs and nothing worked. NUEROLOGISTS SHOULD UNDERSTAND THIS CONDITION AND STAY UP TO DATE ON TREATMENT PROTOCOLS.. I would never recommend this facility to anyone!! I've had multiple people ask me who they recommend for back and neck issues and I'm quick to say Western neuro has terrible customer service/patient care and I know I'm not the only one that's experienced this as I've seen other patients walk out frustrated with the front staff or the care they've seen. Dr Benenati, is a amazing neurologist who is a expert in diabetic neuropathy , also some times called C.I.D.P. or chronic inflammatory demylinating polyneuropathy and this diagnosis is reached after doing a N.C.V or nerve conduction velocity which measures the speed of conduction in the nerves. Usually in a normal person the speed is 60 meter/second but in people suffering from nerve problems the speed is around 45 -40 meters per/second. In the person I accompanied to the clinic the speed was zero. After doing a spinal tap which the doctor measures for protein if it is elevated the patient is referred for immune globulin treatment called I.V.I.G. I.V.I.G. comes from a speciality pharmacy the one sending this to the patients home was Kabafusion. All this complicated work done at this clinic is just amazing impressive and unbelievable. I got referred here from my primary doctor Laura young. She was super quick to help me get me into this neurologist to help me with my migraine issues I've been dealing with since I was 5. I've never really truly went to a doctor that specializes with these issues so it was nerve racking. But I'll be honest it's been great to have Jason Castro as my neurologist. Very easy to talk to and help me with my migraines. We talked about different options that could help me. I told him of those options what I thought I could try and have tried so far. We decided to go with injections and it's been so much better for me. He also gave me things for physical therapy for my neck where it causes tension headaches for me. So far I've been having less migraines from his help. I have been feeling a lot better than I was when I originally first saw him. He also helped me with making sure I can get time off from work so I don't get dinged for it. The receptionist Virginia is amazing as well. Every time I've called her she has helped me significantly and answered all my questions. read more

What an incredible waste of time my appointment was to this facility. After waiting 3 months to see a doctor who supposedly was familiar with CRPS (dr. christiano), my wife and I found that he had practically zero understanding of the condition whatsoever. He actually lists CRPS as something he specializes in, and clearly had no idea what it is. He acted very confused every time I spoke of my symptoms (which are completely straight-down-the-line typical), and offered me absolutely NO understanding, advisement, options, assistance, or even any help at all with medications (with what is widely considered to be the most painful condition known to mankind). I received no medical services, or options for any kind of treatment for my terrible and serious condition. It is appointments like this that leave CRPS patients feeling even more hopeless than ever. I know that I do. All this facility wanted to do was send me back around in a circle, back to a pain management center....that was equally as unhelpful, ignorant, and without any compassion at all. Thank goodness my primary care office has some sensibilities, and is willing to offer their assistance (as they see where my referrals have gotten me.....nothing and nowhere). Shame on you Western Neuro, for making me believe that finally a doctor might actually help me with my neurological disorder....and being utterly let down. He was CLUELESS AND UNPROFESSIONAL. And damn you for making me wait so long for an appointment that was useless, and for the pain it caused me to transport there. And your office staff was rude on top of everything else. After discovering I had a cervical problem, there was only one Dr. I would even consider consulting about the issue, Dr. Sipos. He performed brain surgery on our son in early 2000, not just saving his life but enabling him to have a full and productive life. When I called initially for an appointment with Dr. Sipos, I was told his first available appointment would be the middle of April (this was early Dec.). I understood completely but was able to see his PA, Nicole the end of January. I was seen exactly at my scheduled appointment time and Nicole was very personable, she performed a through neurological examination, putting me at ease quickly with warm personality and on point responses to my questions. She determined that the need for surgery was likely and had Dr. Sipos in the room quickly. He was just as I had remembered him, professional, thoughtful and put me at ease immediately. While the thought of having surgery on my neck gave me a few anxious moments, the caring and impressive staff did give me peace of mind. There was not a single thing I experienced that hadn't been discussed prior to surgery, either at " Spine Camp", pre surgical Dr. visit or pre hospitalization registration and physical. Everyone involved in my care has exceeded all expectations. The surgery, so far, has been a wonderful success, with an unexpected bonus. I have suffered with migraines for decades. Since surgery, not one headache. This is life changing. Dr. Sipos and staff are extraordinary. read more

Where to begin? First, I was scheduled with a Neurologist NP, not an MD. After a few months, he suddenly disappeared without notice or explanation & I was moved over to Dr Drake. The problem occurred when they did NOT fully document things they had said to me in person, as well as incorrectly documenting things I said. I asked them to fix their mistakes by adding an addendum to their medical notes. They refused & when I said " Do you understand this was your error & these mistakes can be costly and affect a person severely?" she said that Dr Drake always documents things very carefully. When I replied "Oh I guess you never make mistakes." then office mgr MaryAnn replied "If you don't like it, find another Doctor" and hung up on me. I was floored by the rudeness. I not only have a neurological issue, but I also work daily with technical medical records systems (so I know it is very possible to add notes to these systems) & I work for an insurance company & we investigate medical providers & claims for fraud, waste & abuse. I am also a member of medical malpractice groups. This has not gone unnoticed! Personally I believe they are worried about their liability. I am shocked & appalled at the lack of compassion, incompetence & sheer arrogance from this medical practice & everyone who works there. Tried to call for a month to make an appointment. Kaley never calls back,or tells the operator she left messages on your voicemail, but she does not. Alva is very protective of the doctor's schedule and takes a lot of time off. Doctor may be good, I don't know. Dr. Sipos came highly recommended,but it doesn't make any difference if the office staff is so incompetent that you never have an appointment. Someone should take these reviews to heart, I see multiple people saying the same things about the office staff. What do we matter? We're just people in a lot of pain. read more

I have never been so disappointed in this clinic. I got a referral to this place it took three days to finally get someone to call me back to schedule an appointment. I was scheduled a month and a half out. Got sent a packet with a reminder. Got a confirmation for my appointment a week ahead of time. What I didn't get was a voice mail telling me that my appointment was canceled. Do you think I would drive across town if I knew it was canceled. The registration person and the secretary both claimed they left me a voicemail which they did not and were really snotty. read more

I had neck surgery in 2016 and Dr. Hillel Baldwin put in titanium discs. After surgery I started getting very bad headaches and nerve pain, spasms, etc. Dr. Baldwin insisted it was not from the surgery but after consulting with other doctors I was diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia. This was later confirmed by other doctors to have happened during my neck surgery. Dr. Baldwin and staff would not even return my calls. My quality of life is horrible and this is debilitating. I was referred over here by another specialist and after calling for days JUST to get an appointment, I finally gave up. Apparently there is only one person you can make an appointment with as there is some sort of screening process they have even AFTER your physician sends them a referral. My calls were never returned and the mystery person I was told to keep calling back for was never available to make me an appointment. My time is important too. I also work in healthcare and getting away from my work in order to repeatedly call and beg someone to please make me an appointment is ridiculous. read more

Probably the most uncaring, unprofessional, arrogant group of people that I have ever delt with. Tried for days to get an appointment. Couldn't get them to return any of my calls.
