LOVED IT! We celebrated a birthday here and this place was such an excellent find! At first glance, this spot looks so cozy and cute! I was consistently shocked at how good everything was! After ordering our food, we got a few slices of focaccia bread made in-house. I was so surprised that it tasted sooo good! It was soft and pillowy! For appetizers, we got Fried Sardines paired with a lightly dressed salad with tangerine slices and the Breaded Eggplant with mozzarella and tomato sauce topped with basil. The Fried Sardines were perfectly fried and seasoned and was not oily at all. The salad on the side was bright, citrusy and I love the tangerine slices. The Breaded Eggplant dish was also delicious. For entrees, we got the grilled branzino, NY strip steak, and a pasta, Pappardelle alla Bolognese. The grilled branzino came with a bean puree and sauteed swiss chard - the fish was perfectly grilled. NY strip steak was also perfectly grilled medium rare and baby potatoes - they made these perfectly!! The homemade pappardella alla bolognese was delicious! The pasta was made with a ribbon-shaped noodles with meat sauce. It was filling! For dessert, we tried the passionfruit panna cotta and it was a lightly sweet, tarty dessert. I loved it! Can't wait to come back for brunch!!

Special of the day: orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe with freshly shredded Parmesan. + Bottle of spicy olive oil

This is my favorite Italian spot in Astoria! It's a cozy restaurant that frequently has delicious specials and a consistently delicious menu. I have come here several times for dates and family dinners out to celebrate. I believe on one family celebration we meet the owner who was absolutely hilarious. He is a character in himself. He checked on us and thanked us for coming. I've never had a bad experience with their servers. They are always so friendly and able to answer my questions about the seasonal menu and the specials. FOOD: I am always looking out for their specials. I believe their menu rotates seasonally which I love because it takes advantage of what's in season. My husband's go to is the Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce) For a lighter pasta I like to get Orecchiette with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe from their specials. I always recommend going with house made pasta! Another special I've had is the Cavatelli di Grano Integrale con Ragu D`Agnello-housemade whole wheat shells, lamb ragu. For appetizers their tuna tartar was amazing and I really enjoyed their eggplant. Also...their house spicy olive oil tastes like chorizo and we LOVE it 100% recommend!

Been to Vite many times and have always had the most amazing meals. What inspired this review was not only their Kobe beef meatballs, which are perfection, but their seasonal Agnolotti Al Limone. Homemade pasta, Ricotta, Mascarpone and Lemon zest in a lemon sauce. Go and get it NOW before it leaves the menu to make way for the Pumpkin Tortolloni. It is an amazing blend of perfect flavor. I was so blown away by this dish and I cannot recommend it enough. Everything is great. Service, impeccable. Wine, delicious. Perfect zingy Sauv Blanc to quench the palate. Ambiance is reminiscent of a quaint Italian eatery in Manhattan. Wait staff is knowledgeable of the menu and couldn't be any nicer. RUN for that Agnolotti. Now! Credit cards accepted.

Tried the special pistachio crusted lamb chops ($60), and it was very good. It is pricey for the portion but that's always the case for lamb chops. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the garlic mash potatoes were buttery. I also tried the flour less chocolate cake which is a lava cake with vanilla Gelato. It has a satisfyingly deep chocolate taste, and I'd get this again.

Intimate Italian restaurant in Astoria. Both indoor and outdoor seating. The person I dined with previously been here so I was comfortable with him doing the ordering. We shared a few appetizers and a pasta dish. The pasta is made fresh. The pappardelle bolognese seems to be a staple item to try and for good reason it's delicious. Honestly everything we've tried was including the drinks. I wasn't able to capture pictures of everything because we were starving. The service was good, waiter was attentive and friendly.

We went here for my sister's birthday, and we all loved it! Not only was the food delicious the service and hospitality was EXCELLENT! We had the arancini, panzanella salad, & the Insalata dello Chef and all were delicious! I have to say the panzanella salad topped with burrata was one of the best panzanella salad's I ever had! For entrees we had the linguini with clams, pappardelle bolognese, and rigatoni alla Norma and all were delicious! The portions were very generous too! The rigatoni alla norma could have used some more eggplant, but the eggplant it did have tasted excellent! For desserts we ordered two flourless chocolate cakes and one Nutella tiramisu. The desserts were very good too! In general I don't like tiramisu, but the tiramisu here was delicious! The coffee flavor wasn't over powering, and mascarpone was light and creamy. I highly recommend Vita Vinosteria in Astoria!

With so much great food in Astoria I always forget about this place. Tucked away on a corner off 31st ave, Vite looks small and unassuming, but it's probably some of the best Italian food I've had while living here the past decade and a half. Their pasta is made in house, and their specials change with the seasons to really focus on seasonal ingredients. Still, they have the staples you'd want to see on a classic Italian menu (meatballs, linguini with clam sauce, and even some pizzas). Servers here know their stuff and are happy to explain anything on the menu as well as make recommendations. We kicked things off with a rice ball stuffed with spinach and mozzarella which was crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside. My date had the pumpkin tortelloni for his main, which I can only describe as a dessert pasta. If you love pasta and have a sweet tooth, this is probably the dish for you. I went with the cavatelli and lamb ragu which was excellent -- meaty and filling, with perfectly made fresh pasta. This spot is on the pricier side, but definitely a great spot to come for a special occasion.

Amazing experience here celebrating my friends birthday. Gave off a very snug/comfy feel. Love that the specials were handwritten on a small chalkboard that the staff brought around to tables. Standard selection of pastas and pizzas, extensive list of red and white wines. We ordered a bunch of food to share. Can't really go wrong with any of their options. I recommend ordering something from the Specials.

Came back here after 1.5 yrs. I got the squid ink pasta- "Tagliatelle al Nero di Seppia- housemade tagliatelle with squid ink, calamari, mussels, clams, shrimp, green peas". I was surprised that the sauce itself wasn't squid ink based. It was still good. We also got "Tortelloni di Zucca- butternut squash, ricotta, amaretto sauce" which is basically like ravioli. It's super sweet cuz of the butternut squash. This dish is like entree & dessert in one. It's pretty good. We also got Brussels sprouts which come with sliced almonds. It was pretty basic.

Nice cozy spot for date night. Not overly formal but a little nicer for a special occasion. Atmosphere has vintage vibe, romantic and quiet. Tucked off of 31st Ave. Specials are written on a chalk board for the night. Branzino with brussel sprouts sounded really good, but I ended up getting just the octopus appetizer this time. My date got the pappardelle bolognese. I tried a bite. Both dishes were good but a little heavy. Wish it came with some fresh veg or salad. Everything felt a bit heavy and saucy. Even the octopus came on a bed of white bean purée, so another creamy sauce saucy base. Portions were not huge for the price but since it was pretty heavy, it's very filling. For dessert, got the pistachio and chocolate gelato. It was not mind blowing in my opinion, but perfectly fine. Service was very friendly and charming. Italian language lessons playing overhead in the bathroom was fun. I'm not a frequent Italian restaurant diner, think it's a little heavy for my taste, but this is a cute spot in the neighborhood with a nice atmosphere for a dinner night out.

Lovely service as good as the first time. Wine and cocktails, mezcal margarita is yummy. Bufala pizza and shrimp with garlic for apps. Shrimp is stupendous. The toasted bread dipped in the sauce is outrageous. Smoked pork chop special was especially delicious. Pork was not dry at all and the crust was super flavorful. Pappardelle Ravi was delicious. Pasta was Al dente and sauce was perfect. Clams sauce was great. Small clams. Slight tomato broth. Eggplant was not as good as last time. A bit mushy and not as flavorful. Dessert this time. Sorbet, salted caramel and chocolate. Also affogato with salted caramel and a cappuccino. Sat outside with friends and can't wait to come back.

I've been meaning to try this place for quite sometime and I'm so glad I finally did…read more They have an excellent lunch menu where you can get 3 tapas for $24 or 5 for $40. Regardless of the hot weather, I decided on a table outside. Each bite of the tapas was delightful for what it was and I ended up ordering an extra tapa because I couldn't make up my mind. I chose the shrimp in garlic sauce (oil) that I sopped up with the accompanied bread, the dates wrapped in bacon (they do their own twist by filling it with honey ricotta stuffing and finishing it with a red wine reduction), I also went with cod fish croquettes (the perfect crispness on the outside and a delectable creamy texture of fish inside), I can never pass up the patatas bravas, so, I got those too. I had a glass of a beautiful, crisp, white Chardonnay off the menu from Spain. Definitely a must try if you are looking for a quick meal for one. A wonderful experience overall, friendly staff and delightful colors that add to the outside atmosphere. Stoop and the city is also on the same block which is a plus
