I was given an appointment immediately. When I got to his office there was valet parking & told to get the ticket validated. Great having valet parking. Maybe waited in the waiting room 10 minutes and called in. Dr. Hershon came in minutes later and he wanted me to have X-RAYS (does that in his office) Waited about 10 minutes after the X-RAYS and Dr. Hershon came in and explained to me what the X-RAYS said. Explained everything to me and told me what to do and he wanted to see me in 1 month. This whole experience was amazing from the staff & of course Dr. Hershon who was thorough . I could not believe how everything moved so quickly. I definitely recommend Doctor Hershon. Do not hesitate especially if it is an emergency.

I saw him at his Manhasset office which is Very busy but moves really quickly due in large part to the staff that works like a well oiled machine. Efficient AND friendly. Hands on exam. Consult. "Sounds like it might be a torn meniscus." Straight off the bat. Xray...need MRI. K...follow-up visit. Yup...torn meniscus. Surgery(gulp!)? Some people live with a torn meniscus and no biggie....others not so much. "If it effects your quality of life..." No pushing of surgery. Just your options. 6 weeks later I'm scheduling surgery. Cut to North Shore Hospital(upcoming review), Doctor Hershon is calm,cool,collected and five minutes with him,so am I. Let's do this. I see him right after in recovery. "Looks good" "See you in a week." Stitches are tiny. Iced the swelling into oblivion. Six weeks physical therapy(doc's orders). Final consult. I'm good to go! My recoup time was excellent and this was the Best "I wish I didn't have to do this" experience ever. Doctor Hershon exudes experience. I wouldn't go to anyone else. He ain't the Yankee doctor for nothin'.

At 5:15pm I inquired form the receptionist as to when I would be seen as my appt was at 4:30pm. She very nonchalantly stated , "well, you're the last appointment." I again said my appt was at 4:30pm. No answer from her. I was not given a time frame as to when I would be taken. So I explained I would be leaving and again she stated "okay" I walked out. I worked in the medical field as an RN for years. If a doctor was delayed we would let the patients know and ask if they wanted to wait or reschedule. It was the patient option. This was a very poor first impression for a new patient. So while I understand Dr. Taormino is very good I will not return. Front desk staff actions and impressions are very important.
