Their optometrist (who I saw two times and was late 40 minutes for my appt) did not know what the issue was. I spoke to another optometrist at a different company recently and he explained why I was having issues with my glasses. The optometrist at View Optical and the staff who I saw do NOT know how to handle progressive lenses. After my second appt with the optometrist, she sent me to a front office staff (Joe), who can barely speak English, and said he would help me resolve the issue. Joe tells me I have to select a smaller frame. I asked him how small, and he tells me he has to see it on my face??? Really??? There are sizes on the eyeglass frames! After trying on multiple frames and being told they were not small enough, Joe chose a frame and tells me it's the right size. He took it back to the optometrist who said it was STILL too big! The optometrist told me she would call the lab manager to get his opinion. Then I find out I have to come back AGAIN to meet with the lab manager! I was DONE at that point, but was told I had to meet with the lab manager first before I could receive a refund! I finally received a call from the lab manager (Joseph) and he said he understood my issue. I asked for a complete refund. It took nearly a month and a half, and hours of wasted time since ordering my glasses to get my money back. This review is for all who wear progressive lenses. Find a place where they guide you on the proper size frame to buy. A place where the optometrist understands how progressive prescriptions affect your vision and avoid a lot of frustration and wasted time.

Tri-City Optometry is the gold standard for bad customer service…read more This review is written on behalf of my sister, who is hesitant to post under her own name because she recently purchased an expensive pair of glasses here and is worried about possible issues or retaliation if she needs repairs in the coming year. Dr. Shital Chatwani rushes through the appointment, speaks down to the patient, does not answer questions clearly, and becomes visibly impatient when questions are asked. The entire interaction felt less like a medical appointment and the clear priority seemed to be getting the patient out quickly and into ordering expensive glasses, rather than taking time to explain things or address concerns. It honestly felt like dealing with a businessperson more than a doctor. Unfortunately, the poor experience did not stop with the doctor. The overall leadership and culture of this office seems weak, and it shows in the behavior of the staff. There are many employees walking around, yet when customers have questions, they often say "I'm busy" and walk away without offering to find someone else to help. In a professional practice, you would expect at least a basic effort to redirect you to another staff member. That simply does not happen here. The staff appear selectively nice to people they are trying to secure business from but otherwise the service is consistently rude, rushed, and unhelpful. The overall attitude is 'take it or leave it.' Even when there is no problem, you are treated with disregard. If there is a problem, I would not trust this office to handle it with care or professionalism. There are many excellent optometrists who accept VSP and other insurance plans. I strongly encourage people to look elsewhere and consciously choose to support a practice that actually respects its patients.

She was super sweet and Dr. Tracy Salgado eventually took over for my actual exam. She answered all the various questions I had and took her time to make sure we covered all the info that I came in for. The process was efficient, thorough and I wasn't pressured to purchase lenses like some of my previous experiences at different establishments. Overall, everyone I spoke to was super nice & down to earth so even though this is a bit of a drive for me, I'm definitely going to be returning for my yearly checkups and I highly recommend everyone to give this place a try!

The next morning, the pain was getting worse and I was pretty desperate to get an immediate appointment into any optometry office. Most optometry offices open at 10am, but this one opens at 9am and I was lucky enough to get in for a 10:30 opening. Once I arrived, I got checked in pretty quickly. The staff there were all very pleasant and friendly. Soon after, I was in the exam room and Dr. Kimberly Haw came in. Dr. Haw was also very friendly and down to earth. I appreciated that she was very frank and straightforward about the potential level of injury that my eye could have sustained, yet also had a sense of humor that put me at ease. After examining my eye with some nifty gadgets, she was able to see that I had an abrasion on my cornea. She explained the condition, treatment plan - antibiotic drops, and things to look out for. I was originally just looking for ANY optometrist that would see me for my eye injury, but after my visit and positive experience today, I will return to Fremont Optometric Vision Care Center ongoing as a regular customer for my annual eye exams. Not that I plan to injure my eyes anymore, but if it happens again, Dr. Haw said to give their office a call as it is their practice to get people with eye injuries into the office ASAP for care. BTW, wear safety goggles when dealing with trees! I was just picking some dumb oranges when a random branch shot in at an angle right into my eyeball.

Of course they also do eye exams and contact lenses as well with an active lifestyle and two toddlers. I have mishaps with my glasses frequently and they always work hard to see if they can warranty my lenses or frames or both when they break. I even had a situation in which my frames broke and were discontinued so I thought my relatively new lenses would be useless, but they were able to find another set of frames that match the specs exactly. If you want a great eye exam from a friendly doctor, call and ask for Dr. Bahn. If you already have a prescription, I need help finding glasses and ask for Wendy.
