A pleasant surprise as my wife and I were looking for a bowl of Pho after we left the casino in Plaincille,MA. She found it on Yelp and it's only 5-6 miles away so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the large Beef Pho with not too high expectation, the as soon as the waitress brings it to our table, we can immediately tell that it's going to be good because we probably at at least few thousand bowls of the best Vietnamese Pho in our lives. It's very tasty, noodles was properly cooked, and has lots of beef meat balls ( Bò vò viên). It doesn't have other standard ingredients such as beef tribe, but I'm fine with it. The waitress and owner are very friendly. The place is inside of the Stop and Shop Plaza off exit 16 from Rte 495. Plenty of parking. We will definitely be back and try out the Laotian and Thai dishes as well. read more

My wife and I decided to eat here after hearing good things from friends and the good reviews here on Yelp. I'm sorry to say we were disappointed. First if all, we ordered take out. The girl told us 20-25 min. I got there and the food wasn't ready. It ultimately took over 50 min to get our food. The place wasn't busy. There were people at one table and a couple other people waiting for take out and one woman serving as take out person and waitress. When we finally did get our food and took it home, it was lukewarm. We ordered fo beef, crispy shrimp, beef pad thai, pork satay, and egg rolls. Almost everything came in Styrofoam containers. The shrimp and egg rolls were disgusting. They both tasted like Styrofoam. My pad thai was ok, but dry and not much beef to speak of. The best part of the meal was the satay. Needless to say we were very much let down and won't be eating there again. read more

Looking for a giant bowl of comfort on a cold or rainy night, that's not going to break the bank? Vohns is definitely the place to go! This is now a regular place for us to get take out, when comfort food is what we need! My personal favorite is the Beef Pho. The beef is sliced super thin, and the broths flavor is so rich and comforting. My sister in law loves the Chicken with Egg Noodles Soup, and my wife is a huge fan of the curries and fried rice. Mom in law loves the Suki soup with chicken. I am also a huge fan of the seafood and egg noodle soup; with a generous helping of mega sized shrimp, large pieces of tender calamari (not rubber bands) and nice sized scallops! Asparagus in Snow Suits and Crab Rangoons are our absolute favorite things to get as an appetizer. The family who runs the restaurant are very friendly, as is every member of their staff. Their wait staff are very helpful, and the kitchen staff get your food out quickly while it is still piping hot! All in all, Vohns deserves every star I gave them, and then some! With their comforting hot soups and warm friendly staff, you won't even notice the lack of decor. FYI there is a $12 minimum for debit/credit cards; learned that one the hard way one night, since we rarely order less than 3 entrees! read more

The restaurant is located in a strip mall near Woonsocket. Parking is not bad because there is a Stop & Shop adjacent to the location. The inside of the restaurant is nicely laid out. It must have been a pizza place before because the kitchen area looks like it once housed a brick oven. We had spring rolls and crab rangoon appetizers. The rolls were very fresh and tasty. The crab rangoons were possibly the best I've ever had. They actually tasted like crab and came with a great sauce. My wife and I shared a red curry chicken dish. The ingredients were all fresh but the sauce was a little watery for my tastes. Overall very good though. We'll definitely go back. read more

We were looking for a Vietnamese restaurant in the area and this one was recommended to us. Overall we were pleased with our meal and will be back to try some different things and a few that we liked. I would say that skip the starters. We had the chicken satay (way too overcooked and dry) and the pork dumplings (good, but not great). Go straight to the main dishes. The highlight of the meal was the noodle bowl. It was just what I was looking for and it hit the mark. I will be back for another one of those. The Panang curry was also very good. A big bowl of that hits the spot. The pad thai was so-so. It was missing something though. One thing that really stood out was the jar of red chili paste (or whatever it was). I would take a jar of that home if i could. Perfect amount of heat and flavor. Outstanding, simply superb Asian fare from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia all showcase super fresh ingredients served in a family run restaurant that is a delightful change from the comerical enterprises. Yes, there are 3 generations here at a given time, it is what contributes to making Vohn's special. You are treated like an honored guest rather than an inconvenience. I got the penang curry and my husband got the Pad Thai. I'm not Thai but I've been to Thailand and the curry reminds me of a similar dish I had in Thailand. You can taste the lemongrass and bergamot! The pad Thai was good too. My husband didn't really like it because it was too authentic for him. It wasn't as sweet as is the norm here and the noodles were not the dry flat rice noodles he was use to. But this is my review so I'm giving it 4 stars. Decor is as expected of an Asian restaurant, but service was slightly slower. Still faster than many other restaurants but slower than your typical Asian restaurant. read more

Today, I visited Vohn's 11/20/18 and asked for vegan options because I am vegan. After speaking with them about a simple veggie fried rice dish with veggies and tofu, they looked at me like I had three heads.. When I was taking my takeout order out the door, the owner said vegan and starting laughing out load with a customer and wait staff and I was very embarassed by this childish behavior and was dumbfounded. All restaurants should be respectful to all customers regarding their dietary choices.. I will not recommend Vohns to anyone because of this read more

I used to love this place. Since they moved, they make it too difficult to be a loyal customer. I mean who the heck doesn't answer the phone on. Saturday night for take-out? This place is decent if you're in a pinch, but there's much better Thai locally in terms of quality, variety of food options, and customer service (like Pepper Terrace in Franklin). They have no other option except white rice or sticky rice for most meals, like curries (unless it comes with rice noodles). Not good if you have any dietary needs! On top of that, the lady(?) sounded very short and attitudinal, asking me one or two word questions in a non-friendly way when I was placing a dinner pick-up order, and the wait was also a little long. I preferred the customer service person they had there last year, who sounded nicer. On the positive side, it's still decent tasting American "Thai" and they give you a pretty good portion for a reasonable price. read more

Do yourself a favor if you're looking for good pho....take the extra drive to Dorchester. The pho didn't seem authentic and every time I tried to call and place my order I was hung up on so when we finally showed up and ordered we seem to only get attitude. After waiting 30+ minutes to get our food we ended up waiting an extra ten minutes for our Thai iced tea that was too sugary. read more

First off, it smells musty when you walk through the door. Second the highchair they gave us was all sticky and we had to clean it with baby wipes. The food was mediocre at best. The pad Thai didn't taste like any pad Thai I've ever had before (and I have tried it anywhere I see it on the menu) and my boyfriend said the drunken noodles were only Ok. So, I recently moved to Bellingham from New Orleans, where we (a) have a large Vietnamese population, and (b) *really* like food. I confess I wasn't certain that Vohn's would be great, but the Yelp reviews were really good, and the menu looked amazing. I'm feeling a bit sick, and whenever I'm under the weather, all I want is pho. I got summer rolls (with pork), the papaya salad (spicy), and the beef pho with the crispy pork (per yelp suggestions). Everything was SO GOOD. And good news: my $25 order was *way* too much food, so it will be great again tomorrow! As others have said, the pho is really great, in large part because the broth is amazing. Although I didn't eat there, service seemed great too. I called in my order (I don't love talking on the phone but it went very quickly and smoothly) and it was ready for me when I got there. Everyone was very courteous and efficient. Highly recommend and I'll be back soon! EDIT: I've now been back another 4-5 times and have also tried most of the curries and the mango chicken, as well as a number of the appetizers. Everything has been amazing, and I can't recommend this place highly enough! read more
