I needed to find a new stylist after moving here from Seattle and so I checked Yelp, as I am apt to do when I am completely clueless. Saw the great reviews for Fatema and called and made an appt same day. Yay for flexibility! Her shop was large and spacious and she listened to what I was there to do. For what it's worth, I am NOT the kind of client that tells my stylist what to do. I am not able to see myself objectively enough, and so I have learned to let go and trust someone else. This is where Fatema is the perfect choice for someone like me, as she is experienced enough to know what works best for your face, body and hair texture. She talked me into color and highlights, for which I'm thrilled. My cut is the perfect length for me and detracts from my roundish face. Called ahead and was told I could get a walk-in appointment for eyebrow threading by Fatima. Drove 20 minutes and when I got there was told that Fatima didn't have the equipment for threading by her assistant. Fatima herself was not there. I have visited Voila three times now. My stylist is Fatima. She is a talented, experienced and charming hair stylist! I found her after my previous stylist had scheduling conflicts and that flu bug hit her hard at a time I wasn't able to wait. I had just been through a health issue that had left my hair dry, broken, thin and just plain awful. Fatima rescued me! She conditioned my hair so it began its slow recovery. She trimmed and shaped it so I didn't look like a sea hag any longer! (I am not exaggerating!) Now, about 9 months later, my hair has regained its thickness and shine. I went here last week to get my hair done. I called ahead to see how much it would be for a partial highlight. I was told it would be $60. However, it ended up being $125 for a partial highlight and a haircut. I am not sure how it ended up being that much since I was told it would be half that price! Fatima was very friendly and easy to talk to you. My highlights had pretty much turned my hair all blonde and so she suggested that I add some low lights. The color and cut turned out great! I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem. My normal hair gal is out for a few weeks and I couldn't get in before she left and of course I have an event that is coming up that I need to look decent for. Normally I don't let anyone touch my hair but I thought, eh its short now ... and it's highlights how bad could someone mess up? Then I had a horrific flashback to college days right when I sat down in the chair. BUT that went away when Fatima started asking me questions about my hair. I felt like this was a true passion of hers. Booked an apt over the phone, came in and she was ready for me. The whole process about 2.5 hours for a cut, color and style. Which is very reasonable. She was extremely detail oriented and I loved the outcome. The colors are extremely vibrant and the cut isn't choppy at all. I went to see Clara for a coloring. My roots had grown out (they're light brown) and I had a lot of yellowing. I wanted my hair to be icy blonde with an ash root. I saw a lot of imagines of work she'd done and it looked amazing & of course the fact that she said she can give me the color I wanted and that it'd be "easy". I figured she had done worse hair than mine so it shouldn't be a problem. She had an interesting way of working as she kept moving me from one chair to the other. But again, she was nice, offering water and snacks. The reason I gave her 2-stars (meaning, I've had much better but this wasn't the worst) was because towards the end of the appointment she was saying that it would take a couple of times for me to get the color I wanted. I wouldn't mind it if she told me that right away but she first said she can and then was saying it would take some time. My hair had been colored blonde many times and I know it can be done to the tone I wanted it to as it wasn't that dark (just root grow out). It still came out yellow. And I noticed there was also a lot of patches of blue. She said that was from the light which couldn't be as there was no blue lighting anywhere. While my hair doesn't look terrible, it definitely does not look the way I wanted it to and for her to change half way through the appointment and say it would take a couple of times was just not ok. A few days later I washed it for the first time after the appointment and again, I noticed the yellow. The back of my head is ok (some yellow but doesn't look horrible). The top looks like it's poorly blended and has way too much yellow in it. I also tried to look at it from different lighting and it looks the same, unfortunately. I guess hair can be a hit or miss but I've definitely had better and my experience at Voila wasn't that great in regards to the color I got which is disappointing. read more

7/13/18 Brought my 93 year old mother there again for a color and trim. My mom loved it. She loved how Fatemeh massaged her hair and ultimately was pleased with the way her hair turned out. Fatemeh was patient, gently, gracious and kind...all the qualities I look for. My mother's hair turned out amazing, as expected. I'm updating my review since I can only review you once. A few years ago i went in to get my hair done by Fatemah, she was super nice but i regret ever going. My hair was virgin and was almost three feet long. I was left with a horrible looking brassy bob, her balayage wasnt blended and didnt look at all like the picture i showed her. I was given orange and blonde highlights when i asked for a caramel balayage. I was so upset and we spent over 200 dollars on bad hair. I dont know how she does hair now, i hope she doesn't do hair like that anymore. But my experience here wasn't good at all, i wanted to cry when i saw my hair. If i had known then what i know now about hair, i would not have left the salon looking like that--i was only in 8th grade and im now a graduating senior. I looked a hot mess the next day at school. Fatemeh took amazing care of my hair today! I have long, frizzy, thick, curly hair and she took her time to cut it, balayage, tone and style all at a very reasonable price. After it was colored I got really worried about how it looked because I'm not used to getting my hair done, but once it was styled I fell in love with it - and she even offered to fix it to my liking next week if I wasn't happy which isn't even necessary.
