I came to this salon about six months ago for the first time. During that visit, the nail technician accidentally nicked my finger, causing it to bleed. It was a very small cut, so I didn't make a big deal out of it and let him continue. A few minutes later, while filing another nail, it burned so badly that my eyes watered. I even said, "Ouch! Maybe my nails are just sensitive today." Despite that experience, the customer service that day was kind, so I left thinking maybe it was just an off day. When my friend suggested we come back this past Saturday, I was hesitant but decided to give the salon another chance. I spent $150 on my nails because my daughter's birthday party is next Saturday, and I wanted to get them done early so I wouldn't have to worry about them during the busy week. We left for Seattle after my appointment and returned Monday. By Sunday--less than 24 hours later--my nails had already started chipping. I went back to the salon to have them look at the issue. Instead of acknowledging that something might have gone wrong, the first thing I was told was that "this gel doesn't last long." I asked, "Less than 24 hours?" I was then asked if I had been cooking a lot for my daughter's party. I explained that the party wasn't for another six days, so that wasn't the cause. During the conversation, the customer service representative rolled her eyes at me, which made the experience even more disappointing. My issue isn't the money. It's the lack of customer service and accountability. Sometimes products fail or mistakes happen--that's understandable. What matters is how a business responds. I ended up going to my regular nail salon, and the difference was night and day. As soon as I walked in, they asked, "Oh no, did we do this?" When I explained what had happened, they fixed my nails with care, kindness, and without making me feel like I had done something wrong. I believe good customer service is about listening to your customers and standing behind your work. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here, and because of that, my friend my daughter and I, won't be returning. My friends nail was also damaged and her finger nicked at this appointment but I will let her write her own review. UPDATE: THanks for the response again this confirms that they are blaming the client and lying. No apology about how I was treated. Your response speaks volumes. If you did stand to your 7 day policy I would have been treated differently from the start and this review would never have happened. Not the clients fault that you use cheap material. read more

Never have I ever paid so much for a mani/pedi. I chose their matcha pedi which was nice but didn't even come with callus removal. Then I somehow chose the $25 nail polish ‍ no you do not get to keep the bottle for that price! Then I was up for my builder gel fill. The technician first told me I needed a new application, ummm whyyyy? I've never had anyone tell me this before. So that apparently was going to cost me a removal fee and a new set fee rather than just my fill. And apparently there was also a fee to shape my nails?!? Say whaaaaa?!! I've been to this salon a couple of times before, but unfortunately this visit was by far the worst experience I've had. It took almost two hours just to get a pedicure because two of the technicians were continuously having a side conversation. The technician working on my feet kept getting distracted and would stop working for long periods of time, making the service take much longer than it should have. I decided to get a manicure afterward, hoping the experience would be better, but it only got worse. The technician who worked on my nails was rude and unprofessional. She kept grabbing and pulling my hands very roughly. While filing my nails, she cracked one of my natural nails down the middle, causing it to bleed. I repeatedly told her she was hurting me, but she continued to handle my hands roughly. Eventually, I had enough and asked for someone else to finish my manicure. What was even more disappointing was how management handled the situation. Instead of apologizing or addressing the damage, the person in charge simply looked at my cracked, bleeding nail and said, "It's okay, honey. We can just put glue on it." That response completely dismissed the fact that my natural nail had been damaged and that I was in pain. To make matters worse, instead of taking responsibility, they made excuses for the technician's rough handling. Before I even left, I saw another employee teaching her how to remove gel polish because she was apparently new and didn't know how to do it properly. Customers should not be paying full price to be treated by someone who is still learning without proper supervision. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism, the poor customer service, and the way my concerns were ignored. Our normal place's phone was disconnected, so I couldn't make an appointment. I went looking for alternative salons, and Noir came up. I booked two pedis and a manicure for my friend at 2pm, and they had availability at 4pm. I was impressed by the layout, cleanliness, no smells but cinnamon, and their offerings. They had really good designs, but I was most interested in the quality of my pedicure. They offer seasonal pedicures, so it's worth visiting at different times. They have a complimentary drink, seasonal drinks/cocktails, and lovely ingredients depending on the pedicure you choose. Mine was rose and milk. They offer collagen masks for your feet, and a steamer on your legs. One of the best pedicures I've had. Well worth the drive from Troutdale. read more

I had such a conflicting time last time I was here. I came in for a pedicure and they said they had time for me but they sat me in a chair and I waited over a half hour for someone to start on me. My pedicure turned out so good but unfortunately I will not be coming back for another one because their pedicure chairs are the most uncomfortable chairs I have ever sat in. My first visit here was fine, so I was excited I'd visit again. I liked that they had personalized drinks and cute seasonal and decorative items with the set of service. But it will not veil over the experience I had these past few months. After my first, every visit after that was disappointing. Over the course of a few appointments, the last two women, both seemed to be rushing through the service. On my second-to-last visit, the nail technician kept adding layers of gel polish (more than normal), because they couldn't get the design correct, which made my nails thick, painful, and difficult to remove. They also dug into the sides of my nails, leaving me with two painful cuts. The nails looked cute, but I was uncomfortable and knew they ended up damaged. Then, on my last visit, the massage portion of my package was mostly completely skipped. The timer started while my nails were still drying, and my legs weren't massaged at all, even though it's supposed to be part of the service. That usually is the cherry on top for me. For that to be omitted left me sad. It was the first time someone decided to skip out on that. I then looked at my pedicure and noticed that the polish wasn't even. I had hoped the experience would improve over time, but it didn't. It was frustrating to realize that my trust in this place was misplaced. It's time to move on. I really wanted to love Noir Nails long-term. The vibe is great, the space is beautiful, and their pedicures are genuinely relaxing with lots of options to choose from. It feels like a luxury experience. Unfortunately, the pricing has become frustrating and inconsistent. I've been getting my nails done every 4-5 weeks with building gel on my natural nails -- no extensions, no drastic changes. The only filing/cutting done is to maintain their regular length. On my most recent visit, I was hit with a $10 upcharge simply for filing my nails shorter, which has never been an issue before. When I questioned it, I was told the tech uses a "guide finger" to determine length, which wasn't what actually happened. It felt arbitrary and like nickel-and-diming rather than a clearly communicated service charge. I did try to have a conversation with the front desk, but the explanation didn't match the service I received. For the prices they already charge, these surprise add-ons are disappointing. I don't mind paying for quality -- but I do mind unclear pricing and being charged extra for basic maintenance I've always received. Sadly, because of this, I won't be returning. read more

This place is such a gem! My mom had her pedicure done here earlier in the day and couldn't stop talking about how great it was and I had an appointment for 6:30 that same day.
