I do not work for this agency but had a temp work at my place of business. When my employer had me call Volt to inform them, instead of let her go after several warnings we'll just move her to another location a mile down the road. that store needed that position filled. The temp was disruptive and not doing the one task to answer phones. The guy at Vogt said she won't move stores that she wants the company to pay for her gas to and from work. What infuriates me is he said her and her daughters drive from Tijuana every day so we need to pay for their gas. I could not believe what I was hearing. My girl attempted to work for them, a few jobs and all they did was run her in circles and claim they were calling her the next day and we wouldn't hear back until finally I told her to call cause people only care about themselves nowadays. Upon receiving her first check, she was paid $1.25 LESS an Hr than she was promised, AND they didn't pay her for all the hours she worked throughout the week! Complete scam and taking advantage of US Citizens who are desperate for work. Imagine being told you have a job to finally work, you're ecstatic and give it your all and smile at work thinking you're finally getting paid, only to be scammed when payday comes and hours on hours of hard work was given for nothing! Here is on for the ages. I am an American of Mexican descent. I've graduated Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Alpha Pi. I applied for any clerical, administrative positions that was there. The first conversation I ever had felt like they had a chip on their shoulder. Considering that the majority of staff are considered, "my people", I was met with hostility. The only positions that were available to me were general warehouse worker. I've expressed to them that I have a different skill set than what was offered. The only, "job that they had " were laborer jobs. I let them know how come they are lying to me when I can see the ads on Indeed, on Career Builder, and every other websites offering clerical. There is a saying, and excuse me if I get it wrong. But, the staff at Volt are very discriminatory and because they are in a position to dictate other people's livelihoods, they have this foolish arrogance about them. So, back to my quote. Bellevue, WA recruiter contacted me via email to request a phone interview. Interview scheduled and meeting invite accepted. Day of interview, RECRUITER WAS A NO SHOW...NO email, telephone call AT ALL to inform me that she had a conflict that would prevent the call from occurring!!! When I CALLED HER, claims of "I emailed you to ask if you could reschedule", so I checked my email inbox...Yes, she emailed to reschedule, HOWEVER her email's timestamp was FIFTY-FIVE MINUTES AFTER the time that she scheduled to meet with me!!! Now, if the shoe were on the other foot and I was late or a no show to an interview, I would be considered undependable and stricken as a potential candidate with Volt. So, WHY is it acceptable for an interviewer to be late or a no show?????! This entire horrible experience is made worse by the fact that, previously, I was an exemplary contractor with Volt for several years, in multiple states that I resided AND was repeatedly requested by Volt clients! Definitely NOT a good encounter and I will NEVER AGAIN be a party to ANY type of relationship with Volt, Inc.!!!!!! read more

I have been working for Volt since 2010. My first assignment was at Hyundai Motors America in the Corporate office in Fountain Valley. I worked in HR for 6 months while the Admin was on bed rest awaiting twins! When that assignment ended there was another in Fleet Re-marketing and I worked in that department for close to a year when I found a permanent job at Toshiba in Irvine (in the HR Dept), well that was short lived because Toshiba merged with it's sister and left me without a job, but i got a nice severance package ;) so I'm not complaining! So back to Volt I go, to my trusted Recruiter Erin Williams (Who I met while working at Hyundai). Erin is amazing, she will stop at nothing to get you working again! Her energy is awesome! I appreciate all the time she has spent with me, helping me, coaching me, listening to me and letting me nag her non stop until I was working again. I am now working at Kia Motors America in the Corp office (Beautiful offices may I add) and I love this job, I love the people I work with and I love that Erin is here in the same office as I am, I get to see her smiling face 3 days a week! This office is awesome, from Foster to Jessica to the on site reps like Erin, I really enjoy working for and with Volt (this is not the only Temp agency I have worked for in the past, but I will say, it has been the best experience of all!) When I came across the ad for Volt on Craigslist, I applied immediately. I got a phone call the next day and was excited that I got an interview. I read some reviews online and was discourage after many people spoke ill about the company. I still went to the interview hoping the best and call them after a week later to get an update on the job since they were "going to make a selection in the next day." I email and called them to see if they had a position for me to fit ASAP. It's been two months and they still haven't called me back. read more

I've been working through Volt since 2015. The recruiter I worked with was really up front with me in our interview. She said if she had a position that would be a good fit, she'd contact me. It took about six weeks but I got a phone call w/ a pretty sweet opportunity, and took advantage of it. I read some other reviews, and realize people don't understand what a staffing company is. They are trying to find you a job you like, but they are also trying to fill positions for their clients. If they don't have a position that you can be considered for, they're not going to call you. It's simply a waste of your time and theirs. My suggestion would be to contact other agencies, as they may have other opportunities. Why not have a few recruiting firms consider you for positions??? read more

This corporate office is so unhelpful. I called because a local office in Sacramento would be moving and my company wanted to give them a competitive bid so I asked if their corporate office handled the moves. The gal told me yes so I dialed this office and asked for facilities. The operator is like facilities, what are you needing and I told her to give a quote on a move in Northern CA. She says it wouldn't be facilities. So I say ok, maybe real estate, logistics, transportation... (its always one of those) Well, I would need a first and last name she tells me. Well, give me a general email for Volt and please forward to the correct department. She says there is no general email. HOw about your's since you sound like you know where I'm trying to land. Oh, I couldn't do that. When I'm trying to save the company money an an awful chore that has to be done, you won't help me? Not without a first and last name. WHY DOES THIS COMPANY HAVE THE FIRST PERSON PEOPLE SPEAK WITH GIVE A TERRIBLE EXAMPLE OF VOLT? Very flaky staff. Returning phone call messages is pretty well expected, especially when they wanted you to work for them.

This is the worst company to work for! They do not pay their employees. I have been working for them for 3 weeks, then I was laid off of the assignment that was supposed to be 9 months long at the Apple store. Upon Termination of an assignment, you are supposed to receive your paycheck within 3 days! They owed me 3 checks they only gave me one! I told them that they're breaking the law. They keep telling me that my check is "in the mail". Avoid this company at all costs! My other Co workers have been working there over a month and STILL HAVE NOT BEEN PAID AT ALL!! The Walnut St Fremont, Ca branch treats their clients horribly. The female latina (supervisor?) had a bad attitude for no reason while we were filling out paperwork, and was VERY evasive about payroll questions. My first paycheck is two weeks late. They mail checks from Southern California REGULAR slow mail for THREE checks until the direct deposit kicks in. When they screw up your pay, complain to the corporate office instead. They kept giving me the run around and passing the buck to fix my payroll issue that THEY messed up. It took a WEEK of leaving voicemails, ignoring my emails and texts and threatening to file a grievance by contacting the Orange CA and NYC office before they even addressed the issue and contacted me. In the 20 years I have been working I have never had this happen. I probably will still file a grievance anyway. I've been working almost a month with no pay and now waiting for 3 paychecks to arrive. read more
