This gym has everything you need to begin gains. Went there once will come back, the atmosphere…read moreadds 20 lb. to your working set with the energy lol. There is not a ton of employees as they are non-profit, but are knowledgeable if you have questions. They have many power lifting clubs you can join or engage in. If you don't want to work hard then this gym isn't for you.

I signed up for a class, drove 45mins to be told there isn't a trainer and they don't offer classes right now. Members at this location are paying the same as someone whom attends a PF that is open 24hours, has a trainer, and classes. I wish the gym opened at midnight on Monday for the start of the "corporate" work week. The gym is now under new management so hopefully fingers crossed a trainer and some classes will be added and hopefully 24hours will be in the near future.

When I heard the news they started closing at 9pm I almost shed a tear. I would never think Planet Fitness would ruin my life like this but they sure did.. Doesn't workout there. Just collects folks money every month and leaves it. You can see from my photos. Broken bands, plates that are falling apart. Holes in walls. Dirt and grime that is years old. And machines that are in need of recovering. I was in town to see friends and wanted to do leg day. While I was able to complete leg day, I wouldn't come back. I will say the power rack I used was fine, the weights literally fell apart in your hands. The 80 dumbbell I picked up didn't have rubber around 40% of it. Just ugh. I did my workout and GTFO. This could be a gold mine for the owner. Bring in new equipment. Deep clean the place. Fix the machines, and planet wouldnt have a leg to stand on.

I visited this place to use the gym area. Since I paid $10 or $15 as a visitor, I was looking forward to jogging on a treadmill with a built in TV. Instead I was met with a treadmill that looked like it was a hand me down form Richard Simmons work out video. A treadmill that was created when it was first invented. In other words not modern at all. It was practical but not what I was used to. The other alternative was to go to Anytime Fitness since I like their treadmills more but it was the weekend (8am) and staff has to be around to let people in. You can't just walk in. So anyhow...my alternative was not in abundance and I settled..I ran my happy butt on the treadmill for 30 minutes while watching people below smack tennis balls around. If it's not for some tennis I don't think I'd visit this gym again UNLESS..they shut down THE GYM or ANYTIME FITNESS

I would caution anyone considering this facility and ask a lot of questions before you "sign up"…read more (And I'm using that term loosely because there is no contract to be signed here). I started in the class in the middle of a 5 week session. I had to pay a pro-rated amount for the remaining classes in the session when I arrived on the first night and when I needed to cancel due to a work conflict two days later ... the traiiner said there were no refunds. He stated in an email to me that he couldn't put anyone else in my spot and that's why "I don't offer refunds. I can't run a business that way". (a direct quote) The cancellation policy or lack there of is not noted anywhere in any legal jargon: not on the company's website or facebook page. That's a bad way to run a business -- you need to be flexible with your customer base and your refund policies. Skipping classes is one thing ... cancelling out is another. Since I joined in the middle of the session -- I found it hard to believe he coudn't put anyone else in my spot .. I think this club is his only source of income and he spent the money .. which is why he couldn't refund it. I guess this would be a great place to go if you wanted to sue someone and win big ... you don't sign a contract when you "join", so there is also no explanation of the terms of your payment or waiver of liability if you get hurt -- just his word against yours .. which woud never stand up in court.

So when all else fails I go to Float and Fly Wellness Studio in Dubuque and float for an hour. It's so amazing to be able to be weightless for an hour and take all the pressure off my body. I love that it's clean and has such a positive vibe!
