Nice store and friendly employees. Unhappy that 2 customers were checking out with masks pulled below their noses and a woman walked in as we were leaving with no mask on at all. This Von's is a drive for us (we live in Menifee) but it offers more cake options without having to order from a specialty baker that charges a fortune and requires 2 weeks notice. Over priced on everything! Customer service is good. And the store (except the men's bathroom) is pretty clean. I live up the street from Von's but I'd prefer to go to Stater Bros off Cajalco. Though I will shop here for little things. The gas station has decent gas prices but 90% of the time you have BIG line to wait in just to get gas. If their prices were better I could see myself doing real grocery shopping here. But I don't see that happening. read more

Reading so many bad reviews about what people had to say about the store I shop at. I'm going to give some brownie points to the workers here its not easy dealing with rude customers and they do have some great cashiers which I want to give a five star to Brenda. She is is such a nice person knows all the familiar customers by name which is nice. There are a lot of young kids working there but just remember you were a kid too stop pretending you were always so bright and pleasant. Just saying.... Good for being the closest grocery store, other than Stater Bros. My only complain is that this store is NOT WIC friendly. Every time I go, I always get some type of annoyed face from the cashier. As if that wasn't bad enough, none of the shelves are labeled with the WIC label. It makes it difficult to figure out what is WIC-able and What isn't. read more

1 star just now we went to pickup waters from them for the ballon festival in Temecula people were upfront when we walked in. We get waters and head for checkout and nothing. No one is there no one in sight. Freaking standing at checkout ten minutes I had to reach over grab there telephone us e the intercom and say we need someone at checkout number five. I just want to start off by saying how grateful I am with the amazing customer service I received earlier this morning from Kevin. I had a long drive and my tire pressure light came on. I have never put air in car tires before, I know it must be the easiest thing to do, but I've never done it before. I went into the station and I mentioned this to Kevin and he did not hesitate and said he would come help me put air in my tires. He was so kind because he had no obligation in helping me, but he took a little bit of his time to help me out. Again, I am appreciative for his help and excellent customer service. He had a rather difficult customer before us and I was amazed by the composure he kept while dealing with such an unbelievably inconsiderate and rude human being. The theme in the store is great Customer Service. Unless you encounter Angie, store staff will bend over to make you happy. Want your steaks cut 1 1/2 inch thick, just call Brad in the meat dept. and ask. want a special cut or seafood, call the meat dept. manager and he will do his best to get it. Brenda at checkout is a real asset and quickly resolves receipt questions. If you are a regular, they all get to know you and it has "that neighborhood feeling (kindof)". With the first exception , everyone is so nice. On the downside, prices are high. Store has lower volume and sometimes produce is old. Sale items are sometimes out. Do not order chicken or potato sticks after 7 pm or so - they will be so dried out that the food is marginally palatable. If a regular, must enroll and have "Just for You" pricing specials. Check your receipt however as receipt is often not reflective of those special prices. Check out their either Fri. or weekend specials. One problem is that on Tues. night, all sale information for the prior week is discarded. If you are not given a sale price, they cannot check the price for the prior week. Every Wed., a new week and ad starts, and if you were over charged, and didn't keep their ad, as they won't have one, you will have to "explain" how you were over charged. Angie above just called me a liar and walked away. A subsequent visit, and different manager, resolved this problem however. And PS, they almost always ask if I need help to my car. 25% of the staff call me by name. I like that. In spite of the above, it is my normal "go to" market in Temescal Valley CA. They really try to make you happy. read more

I have lived in Lake Elsinore for over a year now. I hate my grocery shopping choices- Stater Brothers and Albertsons. They are over crowded and make me depressed just thinking about going to them. The Vons on Grape is right next to a Walmart and equally as run down and bad. Today I left the house on a mission to get things for my boyfriend's weekly lunches and didn't want to go to any of the places close to home. I hopped on the I-15 and went East. This Vons was the very next grocery store near my home. Lucky for me it wasn't a long drive, just 10 minutes. Once I walked in I decided to get a cart and a coffee. The carts were clean and the coffee was fantastic. I walked over to the bakery and was looking at the bread and an employee saw me and asked if I needed any help finding anything. THANK YOU! I have not had anyone at a grocery store ask me if I needed anything SINCE I MOVED HERE! I politely said I was good and thanked her and kept walking the store for what I needed. The aisles are nice and open, clean and everything is well stocked. No need to go from one store to the other to get what I needed. Everything was there and fully stocked. Upon paying for my groceries the bagger asked if I needed help to my car. Really? PEOPLE STILL DO THAT? I am very impressed Vons on De Palma Rd, very impressed. You are now my new go to store for all my shopping needs. :) read more

Not much competition in the area, as this is a somewhat rural and underdeveloped area. This is the best Vons I've been to in many, many years. I only go here when I'm on my way to my rental property in Lake Elsinore, but compared to the stores in Orange County this is a treasure. Shelves are well stocked, the layout is huge (thanks in great part to the cheaper land in the IE, no doubt), there's a gas station that, unfortunately, has caught on WAY too much with the locals because it's always packed, and most of all, the service deli performance is flawless. I have so much trouble getting a damn breakfast burrito or custom sandwich at my usual Vons, that when I came here, it was like sandwich nirvana. I'll make a point to stop here as often as possible. This store, to me, proves that it's all about management - some stores are perfect and others in the same chain are horrible. read more

Wife uses Von's club like it's going out of style. She has mastered how to maximize points to rack up gas points. Thanks to her hard work we usually end up with a dollar off a gallon at this location every couple of weeks. Today, I only paid $1.95 a gallon and it was nice to get it. They have killed fast check out. It's more like, hopefully I don't have to wait so long to just buy 3 items. They took out self check out which is why I went there so often. Now it takes forever to get out of the store. And the last place I ever go to is the deli. Talking about short staffed and over worked grouchy deli people. I used to go for sandwiches or sliced beef, ham turkey, and other deli items. But now, I don't. They have the ultimate wait. I love this Vons. They have a great cheese aisle, which makes me as happy girl. The lady who often works in the cheese aisle, is very helpful & often has great things to sample. She got me hooked on crackers with Brie & fig jam- delicious. I also love their fresh baked bread (just ask them & they will slice it up for you). read more

I do not know why I am reviewing a chain gas station. Normally lowest price gas here with VONS card. They fixed the pump receipt issue and receipts now printing at the pumps. A little tricky getting in line for a pump - it is a one way entrance and the line forms at the stop sign in front of the four pump lane entrance. Beware - some BMW types will of course enter from the "do not enter" side to cut in front of everyone waiting in line. If there is a god - so many self important driver's going to hell. read more

The deli is pretty good. I got fried chicken and it was tasty not great but def better than Stater's not as good as Ralph's. Potatoe salad was decent the red skin & the Korean noodle salad too. What I was really surprised with was the sushi. First I verified it had been made that day so I tried it and it was delicious and $9.99 for a large. The store is clean and stocked but prices are very high for your run of the mill staples. If you only buy whats on sale it seems moderate but I have found some items to be as much as $2-$3 more each than other stores, not good. read more

I use to love Vons because of their quality of service. I did not care about paying a little more than other stores because I always felt welcomed. Now I rarely have anybody great me with a smile or treat me as anything other than a inconvenient body taking up their time. Yesterday I went there around noon to pick up a few items for lunch. As I got to only open register that was six people deep I decided I would just go out to eat lunch leaving my items near the checkout stand. So un happy. I bought over $80 worth of Crab and lobster the day before Thanksgiving. The Alaskan crab went bad!! Over night in the refrigerator!
