Never again will I shop here.
Obviously this hasn't been said enough about/to Von's management since NOTHING has been done to fix these problems!
The lines are ridiculous during the day. I know that's a management issue and not the employees so I try muster up enough kindness possible after standing in a line for 15+ minutes. For the most part, they are very nice and usually will go along with my sarcastic ass during the check out process.
But the main reason I'm writing this review is because of the incident that happened tonight. All day I had been looking for a gift card I had gotten for this store, seeing as I'm young and just starting out on my own, I'll take any help I can get!
Anyways, back to the issue. So I had lost this card and spent most of this evening looking for it. I was super bummed cause I really needed groceries, but I didn't give up hope!
Online it said they were open until 1 am. Finally, I swear this card fell from the sky, I found it. By this point it's midnight, but I live half a mile away so I rushed over there. I thought it was a little weird that there were literally no one in the parking lot, but just assumed it was because it was so late. I walked in the store and went to grab a little basket when this heavy set black man rushed me from the other side of the store, yelling and raising his voice, "What are you doing?! You can't be in here! The store is CLOSED! You need to leave. How'd you even get in here, that door was locked!!" So I replied by explaining how online it says that they're open, and I really wanted to make a sarcastic remark about how I'm Houdini's daughter, but i figured it wasn't the time or place. Lol And then another voice began yelling at me from register 2, and I was all the way by the other entrance, so I thought it was very unprofessional for them to be yelling across the store at me, let alone yelling at me period. When I worked in retail if I would've talked to a customer like that, my ass would've been fired real quick. Anyways, sorry, I keep getting side tracked. Now this other tall skinny black man starts yelling at me saying, "we're closed! You need to leave! Now! I want to go home! Just please leave!" I just stood there sort of dumbfounded, since I wasn't expecting to be bombarded like this. I once again explained how online it says they're open at one, and the second guy cut me off and bluntly said, "look for yourself, the hours are on the door." Now I was getting upset, so i fired back that it wasn't my fault the hours were posted differently online. I tried asking as nice as I could if I could please just grab a few items real quick, and after a few minutes of going back and fourth, the first guy finally had had enough of me, since I was obviously not leaving until I got my groceries, he told me, "You have TWO minutes. NO MORE." I was like really two minutes that's unrealistic, so he says "well you could just leave now." I admit I rolled my eyes, grabbed a basket and flew through the store as fast as possible, grabbing some of the main essentials I needed. All the while, the first guy was over the PA system saying non stop, "THE STORE IS NOW CLOSED YOU NEED TO BRING YOUR ITEMS UP TO REGISTER 2 NOW!" He said it probably 5-6 times in a 5 minute period. So I finally go up there and I think he realized by now I wasn't one of those people who could easily be shut up and that I WOULD be making a complaint because he began kissing my butt (this is the second guy, the cashier. I believe the first guy was supposed to be a security guard or something. ). He began telling me how he's sick and just wants to get off work and go home. Never once did he or the other guy apologize for their attitudes. But #2 did tell me after I explained they should fix their hours online, "if you want them changed call the store managers (or corporate or someone high up, I can't remember exactly who he said) and let them know." That's not my friggen job!
Ugh. So that was my stressful experience with your "friendly neighborhood Vons." Needless to say, I will be going to another Vons to spend my gift guard. I will also be making a few phone calls tomorrow to complain about how rude and unprofessional their employees were tonight. I can guarantee if I wasn't bombarded and attacked like that when I first magically appeared through the doors, I wouldn't of had an attitude towards them! It's just common sense, you don't treat customers like that if you like your job. I'll be sure to bring up all the complaints on yelp as well. read more
