This is one of my least favorite Vons in town. I only shop here if i have to make a quick stop. Otherwise i will go the extra mile down San Fernando and Balboa. Its unreliable, I was never able to consistently find Formula for my baby. One day they had it, the next the didnt. Seriously? Rice Milk on the Shelve was about to expire in 3 days....They didnt have any in stock either. Ralph's across the street had Rice Milk expiring MONTHS later. The Baby section is just tiny. There is nobody around to assist you when you need something-Its a mouse chase to get any help... Most of the times there are way too few cashiers thus making lines long... One reviewer said their selection is great in every department.. Umm, no. Please visit ANOTHER Von's then attempt to make a comparison. 0 stars should be the selection. I live in the neighborhood and used to shop here. 10 years ago was a nice store. Over the past couple years an aggressive pan handler almost got in fist fight with me in parking lot because I didnt have change to give him. Another transient had his Penis out and was trying to pee in the trash can by front entrance. I had my 3 year old son with me.. another guy was aggressively hitting me up for money while I was at ATM machine in front of cashiers. Nobody asked him to leave. I've seen guys running out the door stealing a case of beer, no employees did anything to stop him. I've called manager several times and nothing has been done to make a safer environment to shop with your family. Perhaps the recent attack on the lady in the parking lot which was on 6:00 news will open the store owners eyes to the situation. Or when people stop shopping here all together. As of now I don't want my wife being the next person attacked for pocket change or crack money for the people living in campers in the parking lot. There is security but what are they doing? All I know is this store will not be getting my business or any of my family. read more

It's my go to comfy store but I had a bad experience this time, I went to return a redbox movie and returned the wrong one by accident not paying attention and left I guess it spit it back out and somebody took it. Me and my bf realized after went back and asked to see the cameras see if anybody returned it or stole it. Might I tell u it was fallout 4. So we go to the supervisor nd he says sorry man the cameras dont rewind. What kind of store does that. Just very disappointed.... I come here often to buy some groceries to take with me to work. I come in the early mornings so its pretty empty and quiet at that time. Its kinda dark in there....not sure if its because its the morning, but seems a bit cave-like. Not a big deal though. Its always clean and well kept. Employees are always really nice. Its a medium sized super market meaning its not as large as say the Ralphs I go to on Ventura in Encino. But for the most part, they have anything you need and sometimes they have items you cant find in other grocery stores. Its a nicer grocery store, to which I sometimes find myself driving further to avoiding the nearby Food 4 Less and Ralphs because those are kinda dirty and lame. read more

Stopped going to this store about 2 years ago when on a visit I encountered 5 consecutive items that were past the sell by date. Went back yesterday for the buy 2 get 3 free coke products sale. When I checked out the bill which should have been $21.50 plus tax was over $26. Add to that that when I just opened the first one of the sodas I went there to buy it is spoiled. The worker at the meat market doesnt know the name or the price of his merchandise. A meat was not labeled. I wanted to buy something but I didnt want to overpay without making sure that was the actual price for the item. I asked him to check the price to make sure and he said "naw, i just got here". I told him if he could ask someone or find a way to figure it out. He said there wasnt anybody, or anyway to figure it out..... Its not his problem, or his job to know. I seriously live at this Von's. It's the closest grocery store by my house, other than Ralph's across the street. The selection on beer is pretty standard with a few goodies which is a plus. Okay their staff, sure they have the typical employees that blend together , but there is one lady that I seriously adore. Her name is Barbie, she is the cutest lady I just want to take her home. Also known as Ghetto Von's. Not sure why but every time I come in this store the checkers are always bitching about the baggers. Then you have the meat and seafood section of the store. Weak selection at best. Good luck if its fresh. No matter what time of day you can bank on the lines being far to long and only one or two lanes open. Made an advance order in person the same day for sandwiches at their deli and they failed to make them, which made us late to our event! They were concerned we would not arrive to pick up the order even though we arrived on time, so they didn't make our order yet they had our phone number! This is the closest grocery store to me which sucks. We only come for emergency grocery shopping. Prices are not that great. Fruit is overpriced and old. Wish They would just let you bag your own stuff because they always pack heavy stuff on top of your bread and eggs or then stick your detergent with your food . I go weekly on every single Monday to pick up a few items for work. I always get the Kale and Blueberries from the Veggie/Fruit section. Everyone there has always been helpful and nice. Well, I ventured towards the meat section and boy...talk about "I don't give a ****". When I asked a simple question, the guy didn't even acknowledge me or look at me. Hi, I'm a bit uneasy that the last 2 times I've ordered the eggnog, this time for neighbors... You guys sent everything but the eggnog. When I got it each time, last time it being a whole day out and it said it was in stock for thanksgiving. Why don't you guys go pack the orders as they come in? I ordered 4 for neighbors and you guys did the same thing you did on Thanksgiving which was the only reason I made any of the orders I've made on your app, both times. I'm still giving you guys 4 stars though because I love the Hispanic cashier who's always in good spirits -- I forgot his name... I really satisfy their service. And wolud like to say "Thank you" to anybody to helping me. On 04/28/17 , 10.01 Pm., I went to this store to deposit my dad's money. He gave me $500 but the machine said only $400. I just go check with my dad who waiting me in the car. I went back and saw the lady that work there got my $100 bills in her hand. I said "That mine" and show her the recipt. she took me to see her suppervisor or manager in the night shift. I asked her to check the camera, 18 minutes after she said that not mine because she saw the other lady inthe camera( I think I saw her too, but after I deposit money 10 minutes, she wear green shirt). I ask her to check again and show her the recipt that said 10.01 PM. Finally, she look the camera again and I got money back. I certainly glad about that, just $100 but it has much value for me Thank you that supervisor or manager so much. read more

This place is ok simply because of the employees but if you have to use the restroom it would be cleaner to go on the side of the building. Mothers can't change their babies because there is no changing table. Ive seen cleaner bathrooms at the beach!!! read more

Go to VONS in Granada Hills or Smart and Final in North Hills. Standing in line at check stand 1 around 7:30pm on Thursday 3/5/2020... two ladies in front and the cashier enjoying a delightful conversation about antibiotics and probiotics... 5mins later the conversation still continues and the lady still has not completed purchasing her two items. So a gentleman waiting in the back yells "what's going on, can we move the line..." mind you we have been standing in the express line for 5mins waiting for the lady to finish purchasing her 2 items. To that response, without a smile or a simple apology, the cashier snaps back (almost in a yelling tone) there is the self-check line. I don't know about y'all but I tend to utilize people service so that companies will continue to keep and hire human employees (not self service machines) but SHIT if that's the attitude customers are going to get from employees, maybe next time I should use the self-check out. The cashier should have understand where the frustration is coming from, apologize and suggest the self check out line. This girl needs to be re-trained in customer service and know how to deescalate the situation NOT fuel the fire. I was very bothered by her reaction. I won't be patronizing this VONS anymore. read more

This Vons is pretty close to my home. They have pretty much everything, even when I need to get some emergency dog food on short notice. Their fruit is pretty fresh and yummy. The meat section has varies of meat and chicken! The customer service is ok! Thanks ! read more

This Vons is terrible. It is poorly run, poorly managed, and the customer service is laughable. I placed an order for pickup from their deli, and without even calling me, they decided to not make my order, so when I went in to pick it up, it wasn't ready for me. I had to wait 30 minutes for them to make my order, which made me 30 minutes late to an event. The person who took my order provided some excuse which made absolutely no sense, and then I had to wait in line behind a person who was using some kind of coupons in the express lane. This person was taking so long that I had to move to a different line, and I was out of there before that individual even finished. Terrible. Never coming back here again. read more

Just came back from this Vons location. I was at self-checkout when a white racist woman (Kayla) approached me and began to harass me about my mask. I was following the mask mandate and had a mask on, and she stated that my mask was not a mask, which is very hypocritical because Kayla had on a sparkly mesh mask. She was targeting me because I'm Mexican, then she told me just because I just came from the border, it doesnt give me the privilege to wear the type of mask I had on, which is similar to hers! It was inappropriate for her to state that I just came from the border, then she tried to take my groceries away after I paid for them and told me that I can't come back to the store. I been living in Mission Hills for decades and never encountered any type of racism and harassment. I hope this woman gets fired because she does not know how to deal with the public. I am an American citizen and nobody should have to tolerate behavior like this. Absolutely unacceptable! read more

Their deli is definitely underrated. They make the freshest sandwiches. Briana makes her sandwiches with so much tlc you can taste it ;). To the way she slices the breads, meats and cheese, to the way she covers your sandwich when she has to step away. I recommend the turkey pesto avocado, add solo sauce. Also, the Chicken artichoke on cheddar bread. In the mood for something fresh? Try the the lemon capellini pasta. read more

I come here for fresh meat, veggies and deserts, I love when they ask me if I need help to find something. I haven't visit their restroom yet because, guess what?? I always go to my bathroom before I leave my house and I don't expect them to have it shine and super clean, but yes I saw some pictures of it and it's not right, they could improve that. Employee didn't were proper mask . Her mask was covering only her chin and mouth. I was very uncomfortable her breathing and touching my items .when I verbalized my concern and said I am not comfortable when you are not following proper guidelines for wearing a mask another Hispanic Costomer came to her defense and said ' you can go shop somewhere else ',and that employee and the other Costomer started laughing and talking in their native language. That made me even more sad and uncomfortable . Management should hold their employees accountable for their behavior and actions. Called this morning and explained yesterday's situation to their manager she said she will talk to the employees,but Maneger also said we told employees if their masks slide down they should not touch their face . This means masks can stay down God knows for how long until that employee get a break,wash their hand and put the mask back on . I suggest to put a hand sanitizer next to the employee,so if the mask slides down employee can clean their hand and put the mask back on so everyone can feel comfortable and safe thanks . read more

Every single time, without a doubt, the women working the floral area give short, snippy answers or attitude, or ignore customers completely. The manager here is a complete a-hole. I asked if I could get quarters for the change that I had, so he directed me to the Coinstar. I then take my voucher to his register and I ask can I please get all of this in quarters? He replies, no that's only register two and four. I reply, do I have to get into another line for quarters? He looks at me and shrugs it off, gives me a really shity look and goes mute. I take things into my own hands and look to my right (cashier#2) and ask can I please get this voucher? Quarters would be amazing. She looks at me, "of course honey!" Was it really that difficult "Manager?!" He should be demoted, so damn lazy.
