I'm updating my review, and I'm telling why I took it down 1 star. The store itself is perfect for my needs, it's in a great location, and it's pretty much always kept clean and they have a lot of cashiers, so the place while super busy all the time actually seems to be able to handle the rushes pretty well. There are times when the lines are really long, but not so long as to leave the store unhappy. The cashiers seem less friendly than they were in the past. They have a high turn around on cashiers. I'm not feeling the "customer service" vibe like I used to but some of the cashiers who have been there a long time are still great. It's more the new crowd that seem a little less than enthusiastic, but some of them are great, so just find a great cashier and go to their line, that's what I do. I wish we could tip cashiers! They work damn hard standing all day putting up with customers BS. They deserve tips too! There is a manager there that I have lost all respect for though. He's a skinny balding type of guy. He's shady. I don't trust him at all. The last time I was there, I went to the back of the store to use the restroom and he was just coming out of the bathroom, well when I went in there was steaming hot dripping urine all over everything. He literally pissed all over the toilet and floor and seemed like it was done very on purpose, it was a lot of urine. I never heard him flush a toilet, there was no sign of any attempt to clean the urine. In fact it was literally dripping off of everything and steamy still when I walked in. WHO DOES THAT?! The manager does. This is the type of manager he is, and I don't think he expected me to be coming into the bathroom. But, I did and therefore I know it was him. It's one of those single toilet in a small room type of bathroom, where you go in and you're the only one in there. In there is a sink, and baby changing table it's one of those "any gender" restrooms. Anyways, when I walked in, it had a literally been peed all over, I mean ALL over. He for sure did it, as it was all still warm and steamy, in that cold bathroom. Also, let me reiterate, this was a LOT of pee. ALL over. ALL over. Not just on the toilet seat and the floor by the toilet but literally peed everywhere all around the toilet, the walls, the back of the toilet, the floor, I'm surprised he didn't pee all over the sink. LOL What a weirdo. Maybe he was pissed off at one of his employees and wanted to send that employee to clean the bathroom so wanted to be sure it was really a gross mess. I couldn't even use the toilet. I just didn't even want to shop there after that, I just left, and I have barely been back since. Because he's a very passive aggressive manager. I am sure he was pissed at someone. He pissed everywhere, and unfortunately for him I was walking in just as he was walking out so I KNOW it was him. He looked shocked to see someone walking in behind him leaving. Yeah buddy, I saw you marked your territory. Busted. LOL read more

Self check out is the best way to go if you don't have a full cart. Store was clean and product availability was good for a long weekend.

This Vons is conveniently located in west Santa Paula with plenty of parking in the adjacent lot. It is large and well stocked with everything I expect in a Vons. The Deli is a large one, and the Bakery offers a wide choice of baked goods and pastries. This Vons also offers a selection of goods aimed at Santa Paula's large Hispanic population. There is also a Wells Fargo branch inside the store, with 3 ATMs for after hours transactions. read more

Exceptional Customer Service from Brianna! I just wanted to give a shout-out to Brianna at Vons for her outstanding customer service. I was standing in line and asked her about firewood as she was walking byclearly on her way to do something else. Instead of brushing it off, she stopped, smiled, and took the time to check in the back for me to see if they had any. It's Halloween, the store was busy, and there were a lot of people coming and going, but Brianna still made the effort to help with a great attitude and genuine kindness. GETTING HERE: This Vons is located on Main Street in Santa Paula. You can access Vons either from Harvard Blvd. or Main, depending on where you are coming from. Look for CVS, Panda, Big Lots, and know you're in the right area. (It's kind of diagonal from the movie theater.) REVIEW: Santa Paula doesn't have a lot of choices for in-person groceries, to be honest. But every time I come to this location I can see the hard work the employees put forth. Yes, more often than not, there aren't enough checkers available, but sadly, that's Summer 2023 and the state of the world, sadly. There shelves are (thankfully) coming back to full-stock. Prices are what they are, which IMO isn't the place to discuss in a Yelp review as well. There's a Starbux located inside and a pretty thorough Deli and Bakery area near the front of the store. It's a good time at this Vons. I have been to others in the county and this one does stand out in a positive way. read more

I go in to vons 5 minutes before closing on March 15 2025 and I ask "Diana" how many minutes I got she said 3 on the intercom and then she said rudely "now 2" when I ask her in person,so I'm headed down and aisle and "Diana" yells down the aisle I'm on "we're closed!" than I say back " u wait on me, I don't wait on u" cuz how rude to say that to a customer,ik what time I have to leave cuz I literally just asked u. I just left the Santa Paula location and was rang up by Joanne. She was awful. She didn't look at me at all. Without greeting me, she starts scanning my groceries while slamming them. After she finished, she didn't bother to tell me my total. I put in my card and she put the receipt in my face and said "thanks". While I was leaving, I heard her greet the next customer with a friendly "hi how are you?". The difference between that customer and myself? Im black and they were white. Blatantly racist and unprofessional. I called and spoke to the supervisor Jennifer, who cut me off and said "I'll transfer you to someone above me". Then I spoke to the other manager Frank, who apologized but it didn't seem sincere. It made me feel like a pestering customer. He did not ask me for any details. He quickly hung up. read more

Vons - Love this place! - Grocery Near Me - Santa Paula, California

There is a difffernce between quality and serviced in terms of one be editing the other, here it has been a gradual process of trying to reduce quality cor quantity, back a short few years ago, the counters from many of the on hand clerks were open, now if you are lucky, three will be open at the most by the nighttiem it's less then 2 or even 1 manning the front. I came in once to return or exchange as somehow an item was mischarged or something of that nature and despite trying to wait for help, the person handling it said to take a hike and that i was holding up the line despite this not being the case, having people harass me and then having to take it up with management. Now i don't pretend to be a business owner but i would say the fist order of it is to leave a good impression on your customer so they come back and not feeling as if why should i pay so much more for less when better prices and sevice can be found elsewhere. Again i tried to give benefit of a doubt and tried to order from their online app only to find my order delayed and then never show up only to the find out i wouldn't recieve a refund and that they had fired most of their drivers for cheaper services and redirect all customer calls to a customer center in the Philippines. Now i don't know about you but i jsut wanted a few things to eat not a cumberosme and painful process to get a few things for cooking meals. I recommend elsewgere as this place has chelanddd in terms of value and customer service, something i can say is of top importance to people with limited time to shop speficially in this difficult economy. read more

Fried Chicken, On a Friday, I called to see if Vons had fried chicken (this fried chicken is so good). They said yes, I jump in my car to go pick some up. The only have two ovens that make fried chicken, on Fridays both are used for only dark meat at $5. I was upset, I wanted full fried chicken (2 wings, 2 breasts, etc). Vons service manager apologized offered a $10 GC for inconvenience. So today I call, ask if they have 8 piece mix fried chicken available, the deli associate says yes, I hop in my car get there lickety split. Walk up to the counter where there is nothing available. Associate states he thought there was some. I ask for a manager, wait 12 minutes one shows up. Explain my story, she apologized says next batch be ready in 5 minutes. I will receive one free. I explained thank you but I needed two, I will pay for the second 8pc. Did my shopping, received two bags, get home make side dishes, we are ready so sink into thieve bags of mix 8 piece fried chicken. Guess what was in the bags? All freaking dark meat!!! read more

Today is Saturday, May 11, 2024, the day before Mothers Day. Time was 1:30pm. I reside in Santa Paula. I refuse to do my grocery shopping at this Vons branch due to insufficient products on the shelves and the store being so filthy and poor customer service but I needed to take my chances today to get a couple of items. Today, there was a dirty diaper laying in the middle of the aisle. The store was packed with customers with long checkout lines. There was ONE cashier line open, and ALL self checkout was in use. The check out lines were all the way to the back of the store. Employees were just standing around chatting. Now, wouldn't you think the day before Mother's Day early afternoon that ALL cashier lines should and would be open? POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, POOR MANAGEMENT! SAD! read more

Whenever we're in town, we come here to get barbecue supplies. It is a small drive from where we stay, and I'm guessing is one of few major commercial areas in this town. The parking is never an issue, and the lines are never long. The store is well stocked, clean, and efficient in service. I always find what I'm looking for here, which is great because I am very picky about what I eat. They also have a starbucks location inside. read more

I had some time to kill in Santa Paula so I stopped in Vons and did some grocery shopping. It's a nice, clean store with lots of variety. The isles are wide and the shelves are well stocked. They have a bakery, deli, florist, meat counter and all the regular groceries. Staff was friendly and polite and when the lines got a bit long they called up another checker. Good parking lot and they have a bathroom available to the public. Yay!! read more

Really. I used Instacart Vons Santa Paula to keep people from catching my "cold". I asked that nothing in the "cart" be replaced with another product. I said please and thank you. I paid a 20% tip. The nice man quickly got here with my groceries, and the replacements I'd asked not to receive. And he had No Bags to put them into. I guess he intended that all the groceries might be left scattered loose around my front door. I know. I just looked up Instacart wages and he only got paid $10 for the shopping and driving out to my house. So good thing I tipped him almost $20. Vons. Are you really out of shopping bags? read more

I like shopping here but recently when I try to order items from the meat section they never acknowledge you or they are always in the back. I waited 10 minutes there until someone finally came to help me but that's only because they were going to restock the packaged meats they have on the isle. Vons should hire people that are attentive and want to help their customers not ones that would rather have a chat in the back not even glancing once over their shoulders to see if anyone needs help. read more

I am the current duchess of this Vons because this store is convenient when I just have to have cheaper crackers, cheese or sodas than at Tresierra, but I prefer other Vons because the stores in Ventura have better selections. This store does have ample parking with a Wells Fargo, flowers, and a bakery all packed into a smaller store. On our last visit, an employee noticed us wandering around trying to find crackers and Pace picante sauce (hot, of course) and she cheerfully gave me the aisle number for the Pace which was on sale thanks to our Vons card just for u savings. She led my husband to the crackers which were a dollar cheaper than at Tresierras as was the margarine. The store seems to be handling their check out lines better now and we zipped through on New Years Eve. We also get a kick out of our Chevron gas rewards, so it does pay to shop here. But for fresh tortillas, meats, chips, veggies, and fresh Pico de gallo you can't beat Tresierra. read more

I had a question - just one simple question . The employee that acknowledged me came up to me and asked " what did you want " and I said "Oh well I had a question about lottery tickets" She then responds "oh yeah I can't help you stand in line over here " I stood in line only to be " bounced " around from person to person. The clerk in line told me " oh stand at the desk for money orders " I responded " I was just there ... I was told to stand in line " The clerk then redirected me to another employee . The employee then said " let me get my supervisor " long story short I was in there for 20 mins , bounced around from employee to another employee . Very unorganized. I'm not knocking the store or employees just whomever does the orders. Not sure if I'm the only one, seeing how I'm the only one to leave a review about online ordering. I've been going to Vons ever since I moved to CA a few years ago, and this is by far the worst location I have been (and given that my wife and I move every 3 months for work, we have seen quite a few). First off, there is no Panda Express in this location, as some have said; however there is one attached to the same building complex, but it is hundreds of feet away... I can't comprehend why every Vons has to be layed out so completely differently. Obviously different stores will be different sizes and be working in different spaces, but that general flow of the place could be a lot better. Why is there food, then non food, then food, then non food, randomly from isle to isle? Why is some of the cold stuff down this isle, then the freezer stuff down a few isles away? Why are the cheeses and creams not up the isle directly in front of the milk? Stupid planning. Most of the staff has been lazy and unhelpful. The checkout lines are ALWAYS backed up, and I always see random workers wandering around doing nothing. There are a few staff members who have been friendly every time I am there, so they aren't all bad. Buying produce here is like opening Pandora's Box. I never know if it will be amazing or mold the next day. Even what does seem good at first never stays for very long, kind of like they put the oldest out to sell while the new is ripens beyond use in storage. I was going to say that my Just4U wasn't working correctly here, but I realized I had the wrong location saved on my account page, even though it had still worked at many other Vons in the past. When I updated my account with a Santa Paula address, the Just4U started working again. This location does have a RedBox, but it is the only location in town, meaning everyone comes to it. This wouldn't be bad except the machine is inside the building beside the front door. Thus, a huge line congregates in front of the entrance and across where people need to exit from the checkouts. Why can't this machine be put outside like so many other RedBox locations? That keeps the non Vons shoppers out of the way and fixes the congestion problem at the door. read more

I love SP employees but I live in Fillmore now and order online (Thanks Rona)....anywhos for some reason when I order online the last 3 times it has gone to SP store and all 3 times each order delivered has been wrong. I will give them credit though, they do correct the error. Just wish I could get an order without me having to call...I feel like a "KAREN" customer :( read more

I've gone to this Vons about 3 or 4 times and EVERY TIME the staff there has been over the top friendly and helpful. I live in Santa Paula and I have learned not to ever shop at this store. It is very poorly managed. There are always employees wandering around, chatting, not working. There are always empty bins in the bakery dept. Sale items are usually not available, as no one refills the shelves. The cashiers are phony nice, which does not feel nice. Yesterday morning I ran in there to buy some top sirloin that was on sale. It was 7:30 am. My least favorite phony cashier asked if I had found everything I wanted in the store. I told her that there was no london broil...(which is what I went in there for).Her response was, "Oh I guess he didn't cut any yet". Well the store is open for business, and that is a featured item!!!!!!!!!!!!! Inexcusable. It reminded me why I never go there. read more

Store is very clean and neat. This Vons has stuff that other Vons does not have. The only problem is that I can only shop here when I come to visit my hometown. People are friendly except for the cashier she's the short heavy Hispanic lady . She was very cold and did not look and say anything to us. That will not stop me from shopping here I will have to go to another cash register next time. read more
