I had a bad exerience last week, when I went there to obtain an even exchange of a gallon of Lactaid milk, which was frozen and spoilt. the 2 wome at customer service were quite adamant and inflexible and totally refused to give me any consideration. I even wrote to the corporate office asking them to reconsider, to no avail. these days the last thing any customer needs more economic pain. this Lactaid milk cost me close to $ 6-00. needless to say I was terribly disappointed. sadly I had better luck getting an even exchange for spoilt dairy products @ Wincos in the past, but they would not budge. they keo repeating that herir policy is strict. no exchange or refunds for any perishable products they sell. i changed my policy as well, and now I purchase my dairy products @ Walmart. read more

Winco has great prices. I did get some Sparkling Ice drinks that were $0.78 each when Walmart and Target charge $1+ for them. They also had herbs about $.30 cheaper than what I would pay at Aldi. The store is bigger and is similar to the Winco I used to visit in Fresno but the layout of the Aisles was a little different which cost me quite a bit more time to navigate trying to find the correct aisles. I honestly won't be coming back though because Winco does still does not accept credit cards. You can use contactless method to pay but it will reject a credit card and the cashier told me they only accept debit cards. This is still greed from the Employees (the employee stock ownership plan) because they don't want to pay credit card fees for use. read more

We need this store on the East Coast. Great selection of Foods and Meats in one place. They even have a large bulk foods that would put Giants to shame. A lot of things they have are not available on the EC but many could be. Prices are competitive. 1 fault as with everywhere is that there are never enough cashiers & registers open! I had a very disappointing experience at WinCo. The customer service was extremely rude, and I was made to feel like I was being judged based on my appearance. Instead of being treated with basic respect, I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout my visit. No customer should leave a store feeling judged or looked down on. I hope management takes customer service more seriously and reminds employees to treat everyone with kindness and respect, regardless of how they look. read more

First off I love Winco Foods, always a great selection. They have it all at good prices, not always the lowest, but they normally are very low. This is employee owned and is CASH or ATM only. If you come in with your Visa this could be an issue. Produce is an excellent price and they have bulk food area which you fill your own bag to get the weight you want. Great prices on baking supplies and chocolate chips. OK prices on meats. This a Costco size, supermarket, but you can buy small quantity at fair prices. ​I am beyond disappointed with the service at the Ventura WinCo. I recently purchased two packs of ground turkey that turned out to be completely spoiled. When I attempted to return them the very next day, I was told that because they are "perishable items," they cannot be returned--even though they were sold to me in an inedible state. ​It is unacceptable for a grocery store to refuse a refund for spoiled food. My expectations were already low based on the initial interaction at the customer service desk; the specialist working had pink hair, a nose ring, and visible hickeys on her neck, which felt highly unprofessional for a customer-facing role. ​This experience shows a complete lack of standards, both in the quality of the products they put on the shelves and the level of service they provide. They have pet food (cats, dogs, fish, birds), alcohol, custom cakes, gluten free choices, meat, cheese, deli, ready to go meals, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, toliet paper, water machine, bread, produce, etc. The prices are awesome. I posted pictures of the pet food and some other stuff to show the prices for May 2024. I always want to show what they offer in terms of brands and current prices. Going to update because I need to take away a star. The prices have jumped on many items. From about 4 weeks prior, one bread item DOUBLED in price and another snack item jumped by 50%. Otherwise, prices jumped about 3-5%. Since they don't take credit cards, prices need to make up for the loss of the credit card rewards you get. So, if you get 3% back on a card, cash prices need to be at least 3% lower to make it worth the trip. This differential is no longer the case, so I can just get what I need on my other shopping trips where I can use my credit card, read more

Shopping at Winco today they were out of Canada Dry 0 sugar. I asked 2 of the employees if they had any in the back. Like any other time I asked these 2 awesome on point employees Chris and Sandro for help they were more than willing to help and found in the back what I was looking for. This isn't the first time. On Christmas we were making tamales and needed tomatillos and green chilies. Chris came to the rescue again, went in the back and found us a fresh batch due to all of them on the shelf had been bought. I love how friendly and super helpful these 2 employees are and it makes me coming back to Winco because of this. I hope Corporate realizes just how valuable Chris and Sandro are. Customer service has suffered throughout the years, but these 2 have not let that happen in their store. Thank you to both of you for keeping it alive. If I could score them on a 1-10 scale that's easy it would be a 100. Just shows they were brought up right and truly care about helping the customer. Sooo came here after dinner to see what the hype was about . The prices were a bit cheaper than your other big box grocery stores . It is pretty cold thru out the store so bring a sweater . Also, one main reason I won't be coming back is because they don't accept credit cards . But other than that Winco is a decent grocery store with a big variety. Fruits and veggies were fresh . Would have given a five star for the value and overall nice workers, but one checker in particular does not know how the digital coupons work, where the customer has to enter their phone number to get their discount. She passes the screen that prompts me to enter my #, then argues with me when I tell her that there's nowhere to put my phone #. It's happened twice, So, now I avoid her lane. Other checkers have also had problems with the coupons, but at least they worked with me to resolve it. read more

I've been shopping this store for five years. With the notable exception of the delli counter, the employees are rude and aggressive whenever interacted with. The cashiers are miserable, and just yesterday one yelled at me and repeated four times how much she hated her job. read more

Do Not Shop Here after dark. My son's e-bike was stolen from their front door. They wouldn't allow him to walk it in. So he locked it at the front door... came out... bike gone. The 2 security guards were no help at all. The stores camera system wasn't working properly. Very poor customer care! This location is over run with homelessness... RV & cars camp out. Many years ago I visited WinCo for the first time. This is the story. It's 4 am, we check each other's gear one last time.  Then we hear the expedition leader's voice on the radio and we fall into the line.  Our journey begins. Before us, mighty WinCo: One of Ventura County's legendary Five Peaks, the five largest stores in the county. Expert shoppers challenge themselves to shop at each of the Big Five. Once these majestic stores were the province of only the most dedicated, highly trained shoppers.  Rarely visited, they were the lonely outposts of capitalism. These days they are open to everyone, 24/7.  You're never alone. The most common way to experience these giant stores is to join a shopping expedition.   Even starting at 4 am, it took our expedition group until nearly nightfall to reach Base Camp in the Produce Department.  The twelve hour hike from the parking lot left us exhausted.  We staggered into camp and dropped our baskets.  Curious children peaked from behind shopping carts at the newly arrived strangers in their midst. As the last light faded from the long florescent tubes overhead, we built a huge fire there in the Produce Department and everyone gathered around. We swapped stories of previous shopping expeditions and enjoyed a hearty soup made of the many vegetables found in boxes all alongside our route. We spent two days at the Base Camp in the WinCo Produce Department, enjoying many vegetarian delights and sampling their exotic fruits.  Slowly we became acclimated to the shear size of this enormous store. On the third day we set off for our crossing to Camp One, the final destination of our expedition.  Many shoppers never make it this far, because to get to Camp One you must cross the treacherous, snack-filled area known only as the Soda and Chip Aisle.  One side of this carbohydrate canyon is a shear wall of canned soda.  The other, stacked high with chips. This is one of the most dangerous parts of the trip.  You must be properly prepared.  You must never attempt this part of the journey without dip. Every year dozens of customers are lost when they fail to follow this simple advice. Seduced by the siren song of a thousand salty snacks, they plunge headlong to their doom. Underestimating the length of this great canyon, they think they won't need dip.  That's a foolish mistake.  One must never try to make the crossing without plenty of dip.  Even if you don't think you will need it, you must bring dip.  You wouldn't cross the desert without water, would you? It was too late in the season to continue any farther, so our WinCo expedition ended at Camp One.  Our return trip out of the store was orderly and uneventful.  I enjoyed my time at WinCo and I look forward to next year's shopping season.  My dream is to someday make it all the way to the meat department. I Love Winco! My favorite is going in there in the early mornings when the air is filled with the sweet smell of the bakerys fresh batch of daily cinnamon rolls, these are up there with possibly the best I've ever had. All the staff are great , I do truly enjoy my trips to winco. I do minus 1 star though, because I have to say , maybe it's cause it's a bargain store , but I've noticed that things I get there such as various different canned food, they tend to not have the best taste, like from the taste of it , it seems old, examples being: canned chef boy r lasagna, Denison's original chili beans, to name a few. read more

Some of the cashiers are rude (my experience was only women), so I prefer self checkout. They need to keep homeless people AWAY. Even from outside. They always make me feel uncomfortable. The cashier at the self checkout that is there every morning. She has all of those tattoos was very rude. I went through the self checkout and ended up getting cash back. The machine only gave out twenty dollar bills. She saw me get cash back and it was on my receipt. I asked if I could break one and she told me no and that no one in the store would give me cash back. For grocery shopping this is the place. You will always walk out of here spending way less money than you would at other grocery stores. My wife and I pretty much always buy the same items every week with very little variation and shopping at Winco saves us very nearly 50% on our grocery bill... Same brands same items very nearly a 50% savings. And then there's the added bonus of the bulk section... things that I would never buy normally because they're just too expensive, like cashews, almonds the list goes on forever at incredibly affordable prices. The only downside is the place is often a zoo with zombies wandering around pushing shopping carts, and the lines can be awfully long getting out of the store but I swear it's well worth it. read more

If you need to grab groceries at discount prices then this is the place for you. They have everything that you need. Lots of fresh fruit and produce, snacks, frozen foods, drinks, spices, and other essentials. One thing to note is that they do not accept credit cards. So you'll need to bring cash or use your debit card to make purchases here. The parking lot can get full on the weekends but worth a trip if you want to save money on groceries. read more

This morning myself and every person in line around me was treated HORRIBLY by the cashier Sandra V. She was being extremely rude, condescending, and just downright mean to everybody over the fact that the card reader wasn't working properly. Instead of politely telling people ahead of time, or placing a sign on the card reader, she snapped at everyone for it not working. I've never had a more unpleasant experience at this store. I attempted to reach a manager via phone when I left, but was placed on hold for so long I gave up. read more

What is there not to like about winco?? The prices are affordable, the store is clean and designed fairly well. I've been going here so long I could probably tell you where anything in the store is. Been coming here forever and zero complaints. Great places for the community to shop and buy their groceries. The staff are almost always RE stocking vegetables when we are there. Sometimes their rotisserie chickens are fairly small but that's why there's Costco. We always bring our grocery bags that sit in our cart and normally have one person ask about them every trip. The meats they have are good, we normally get alot of chicken and they have a good selection. They almost always have pre-marinated ribs and plain ribs. read more

WinCo is located at the Telephone Plaza off of Telephone Rd near the Black Angus restaurant & Chuck E. Cheese in Ventura. Plenty of parking available. Store hours have been adjusted temporarily due to recent events which started March 2020. Going to WinCo during this Covid-19 pandemic, has been a good experience for me. It's a big store with pretty much everything you need as far as groceries. They have employees freshly stocking the produce & employees assisting in the deli section. All the bulk bin items are temporarily closed, so don't expect to find anything in them at this time. I was able to find canned goods & pasta goods I needed. I couldn't find a certain spice/condiment, but they do have a good assortment of spices. They have a ton of snacks & lots of liquor... The only aisle that was looking sad was the cleaning aisle of course, because it was empty... Use Self checkout for 15 items or less... Good luck, stay well & stay safe. read more

Terrible customer service from the lady who is always in the alcohol section, no mask on, didn't acknowledge me or even tell me the price of my items, didn't ask for ID, just pointed at the card machine when it was ready for me. She was too busy talking to her coworkers, her and the coworkers weren't wearing masks. The only good experience I've had is with the cashier named Amber she's always nice and friendly. Then I went in again tonight and they have all their items all over the floor, people working around the mess of the store with no mask on, not watching where they're going. I work in a grocery store I understand it's hard to put up everything after delivery, but don't be open 24/7 if you can't keep the store clean and organized enough for people to push their carts through the aisles.
