When I got my new insurance I had to choose a new doctor and Dr. Alcocer with the Spanish Hills Medical group was recommended by my wife's doctor. I was a little worried when I called in mid January to make an appointment and they had to schedule me in mid February. They explained later on that one of the doctors in the group had just retired and that the other doctors had to make up for all those extra patients. They gave me a call the day before to confirm my appointment and told me to come in a few minutes early to fill out paperwork. I arrived 15 minutes early, filled out a stack of paperwork and then waited to be called. They called me in about 5 minutes later. Woah. 5 minutes...that's awesome. I had an awesome nurse who took all my vitals and got me ready for my appointment and then about 5 minutes later I was visited by Dr. Alcocer. He had an amazing demeanor. He seemed like he was not in a rush at all...he acted like he wanted to know everything about me and what he could do to help me with my regular issues like my asthma. He gave me all the prescriptions that I needed with 6 months of refills so I didn't have to worry about waiting for my pharmacy to call in for authorization. That was such a relief from my previous doctor. All in all the whole appointment took maybe 20 minutes, 30 minutes tops. I was completely impressed with the whole experience and I look forward to having the Spanish Hills Medical Group and Dr. Alcocer on my side when it comes to my health. :0)

Got me signed in and I was seen promptly. Dr. Coffey gave me an initial exam and then sent me to the in-house audiologist, where she tested my hearing and tympanic membranes (?) - which came back normal. Then I saw Dr. Coffey again and he gave me some recommendations for my concerns, explained the products he was recommending, showed me examples of how they worked and took into consideration my preference for using less medication rather than more when possible. Overall everyone at the office just had super nice attitudes and was pleasant to work with. I think this was their first day of being officially open so they had a few technological glitches, but nothing that impacted me in any meaningful way. I will definitely return if I have any more issues in the future with my ears, nose or throat!

He maintains offices in Ventura and Oxnard and so it was fairly easy to get in to see him. His office staff was friendly and helpful. I met him and found him personable and attentive. He sent me off for diagnostic scans. The scans determined that I needed a surgical repair. I told him of an upcoming trip and he suggested we schedule the procedure sooner rather than later and he facilitated the scheduling so as to allow for healing before my trip. All in all I found him to be a caring, concerned and skilled physician and have no hesitation whatsoever referring anyone to him.
