VORA APARTMENTS @ MISSION VALLEY Parking is available for visitors for free out front, and if you are a resident you can pay for the garage parking. My friend lives in this apartment and it's very spacious. It has one bedroom and one bathroom. The place itself does not come furnished however, there's a lot of space to put in couches and other appliances. The area itself, however, is definitely lost a star for me, there's a lot of homeless people around and there's not much to walk around as well. The food around this area is mostly fast food. There's McDonald's and Jack-in-the-Box nearby. however, the apartment complex has a gigantic pool as well as cabanas. Overall, I did really like the inside of the place however, I think the area itself is really hard to balance. If you're looking for an area a neighbourhood that's friendly and safe. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I canceled within the required time frame and was told my deposit would be refunded. However, instead of returning my money promptly, they informed me that they would mail a check within 21 days to a forwarding address???? even though I am no longer living there. What makes this even more frustrating is that I have tried reaching out for clarification and have not received any response. I followed the rules, canceled on time, and expected a straightforward refund process. Instead, I am left waiting and struggling to get answers about my own money. Honestly I had a worst experience in this apartment. Gate,elevator, inside unit such as sink laundry are always broken. But worst part is they holding my deposit for almost 2 months since I left and they don't let me know anything. At the end I asked for my full deposit back because after you leave they need to pay back your deposit within 21 days. So I call office and they say "my supervisor lily will call you back" but never call me back not only once many times. If you have other options to rent I would recommend you to go there instead. I moved into VORA LUX four months ago and have been very happy living in this complex. My apartment is bright, well designed and very comfortable. I am particularly impressed with the service....whenever I call with an issue the response is immediate and effective. The entire staff is responsive and friendly. The complex has wonderful amenities, the gym is great , the meeting rooms are excellent and the pool is stunning! Lived here for a couple months now and I hate it. People that live here are so rude and loud especially into the late hours at night. I've had multiple instances when people are staying at the pool area at 1-3AM making so much noise and playing music. I wake up early for work and it's so disturbing that on most nights people are just so loud and disrespectful. DO NOT MOVE HERE. I do not feel safe living in this building, and management's negligence has made that painfully clear. The parking garage door has been broken for an extended period of time (6+ months) and management/owners have failed to fix it or take proper security measures. As a result, the parking garage was broken into and our storage unit was robbed. Our expensive cycling bikes were stolen--something that could have been completely avoided if management had communicated with residents after the first break-in. We only found out our storage unit had been broken into A WEEK LATER because we noticed our storage door was suddenly chained shut. When we went to the leasing office to ask what happened, we were casually told, "Oh yes, we've had break-ins since last week. Floor 2 was hit last week and floor 3 this week.' Excuse me? No email. No call. No notice. No warning to residents to protect their belongings???! Absolutely unbelievable. To make matters worse, we had to wait four days to speak with a manager, who simply told us, "Sorry, we're aware we dropped the ball on this issue." That was it. No accountability. No resolution. No urgency. And despite their negligence directly contributing to the theft, they refused to allow us to break our lease without paying our way out. I understand we signed a leasing contract, but if you're negligence is causing such consequential issues then do something to fix these problems, because a casual "we are aware we dropped the ball" does not suffice. Beyond the safety issues, the building smells awful on a regular basis, dog pee and pee stains everywhere, one of the elevators is always broken, parking garage stairwells smell strongly of human urine and unhoused individuals have been found living in storage units!!!! Management lacks communication, accountability, and basic concern for resident safety. This situation was handled poorly from start to finish, their employees are very rude, this place is always under new management and we are now stuck in a lease we do not feel safe honoring. If I could give 0 stars, I would. The staff in the office at Vora Mission Valley West (Building 6161) today (Dec 1st, around 10 AM) was so rude and unprofessional. I went down to the office to handle an urgent issue with my lease. I got there around 9:58-9:59 AM, and even though I saw people inside, as soon as I walked in, the lady in the office snapped at me, saying they open at 10:00 AM. Her tone was completely unnecessary and came with a bad attitude. It's not okay to act like that, especially when someone is coming in with a real issue that needs attention. The reason I opened the door a little early was because there was a sign outside saying "We will be back at 3 PM." I've been to the office many times at 10 AM, and usually, no one is there because they're out showing apartments to new tenants. I get that they might be short-staffed, but when someone comes down with an actual issue, it's not okay to act like that with such a bad attitude. I've been working in customer service myself for almost 15 years, and I can confidently say that what she did to me is something that should never be done to a customer. Residents pay rent here and deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism, even if the timing is inconvenient for the staff. That being said, I've been living here for a while, in both buildings, and I honestly like it here. Maintenance is fantastic--they're quick, polite, and super helpful. I'd give them 5 stars any day. The male office staff is also great; they've helped me a lot in the past, and I'd give them 5 stars too. Maybe today was just bad luck for me, but that lady in the office? 0 stars. It's disappointing when one bad experience overshadows an otherwise good place to live. My partner and I went to tour this place, the pool area and lobby is very pretty and done well. We were looking for an apartment to rent on the top floor, which is their fifth floor. Well let me tell you this, the apartments were very nice, very roomy, BUT the hallways were extremely disgusting. The stench of urine was just so unbearable and you look down and the carpets were just disgusting, stains everywhere, ripped and over worn, looked like they haven't replaced them in years. Also the walls have marks and ugly patches all over. We have a dog and we know what urine stains look like and that's exactly what you see throughout that floor. We declined to see the other floors. We can't believe the residents haven't said anything about that. We don't recommend this place at all until they can fix their issues. For the price of rental it doesn't match up. read more

I lived here for little over a year. It's an ok place to live. The garage door has been broken for months and no communication on when it will be fixed. The appliances look new but they break down quickly so definitely not maintained. The walls are super thin - you can hear noises from the neighbors even the toilet flushing. Anyways, initially during our tour the property seemed great and no complaints on the unit we chose, great finishes, nice tiles, nice kitchen, nice bath and nice walls. The unit itself is like a 4.5! The common areas such as hallways wreak of dog urine. For some reason the owners here are not responsible to take proper care of their dogs??? We have a dog too and he never had an accident indoors. A lot of poo littered about, they should do dog poo dna services and charges owners who get caught $60 like other communities around town. Other common areas such as the gym, pool and meeting areas were good though. Big issue is packages! While living there (I just moved out 3 months ago), 2 packages have gotten stolen out of the locker room. It was so bad that eventually they put hours for when it would be open and people's packages still got stolen. I hear they are charging prices comparable to other luxury apartments and that's not okay.. the area surrounding Vora is okay, at best. I was told the whole 6 floor of the garage is open parking for guest (which was a big add value) . Turns out you need to print out a guest pass and have it displayed even for a few hours. If they don't, their car gets towed. ( my mothers and brother did at the same time while they were helping me unpack) ridiculous . There is no other parking available around the complex. I stopped having my Amazon packages delivered here because the handful of times it has been, it would be stolen. We are paying $3000 for a one bedroom so I assume I would feel safe and they advertise it to be "luxury." But, today was the last straw. We walked into our storage unit and all doors have been opened and ransacked. Not just my unit but everyone else's. Somehow they broke in with our personal lock attached. Security also stated he believe's people have been living in the storage units because he found make shift beds, feces, and urine. I have seen SDPD at Vora a handful of times, this place is not safe. Our garage door is always broken, and have homeless walking in and out breaking into cars. There are better apartments in San Diego, don't waste your money here. Initially this was a 1 star review. My rent went up much higher than I would of liked. Management at greystar worked with me to a price I think is reasonable. Moved out anyway for personal reasons but Pedro made my move out experience so good I had to change the review. Very lax security. Loud parties until 1 am to 2 am. They will kick you out of the community area at 10 pm, which is inside and doesn't bother anyone, but they do nothing about people coming poolside late at night, being very loud, and playing loud music. Multiple times we heard shouting and fighting that would go on for over an hour with no response from security. When I moved out, I had the place professionally cleaned - spotless. The charged me a $250 cleaning fee despite me presenting evidence that the apartment was spotless. I send photos and a video walkthrough. Little response. I regret the time I was at Vora. If the resident got through the door you provide service that is the bottom line and do your job. The offer to reach out to the manager wasn't sincere, no surprise. Didn't hear back and have since been sent to collections after they started ignoring us to resolve the final bill issues. We were charged in error and they refused to amend the final bill or provide back up for what they allege is owed (in violation of CA law). So Vora is the gift that keeps on giving us a headache more than a year after terminating our lease. Fighting now with a collection company is extremely stressful when all we really expect is to be treated and charged fairly. Save yourself and live somewhere else. read more

We have lived at Vora West for almost 2 years and we continue to be impressed by the responsiveness of the entire team, from resident services to maintenance. Any time we have expressed a concern, the team responds within 24 hrs and takes our concern very seriously, no matter how minor. The maintenance team arrives and responds very quickly despite the large community and are always friendly and helpful. The grounds teams are incredible and we experience them working hard to keep our community clean every day- this must be very difficult due to it being a very dog friendly community with pet accidents happening sometimes. The office staff handles things with compassion and friendliness in a very timely manner and is always smiling when passing on the grounds- a couple in particular always ask how things are going with us. Cool building and rooms however everything else sucks; don't go outside unless you want to see low housing property full of homeless migrants and hoodlums. Police are always outside for all sorts of problems and if your room is by the street at all you will 100% be bombarded by loud noises 24/7, even if you close the thin windows you can't escape from the outside noises. None of this would be an issue if they didn't charge an arm and a leg for rent as they claim it's the area, even though your direct neighbor is low income housing and homelessness... On top of this the hallways always smell like dog pee, we see dogs peeing everywhere. First let me specify this review of 1 star is regarding management and not the apartment itself. The apartment was beautiful. However, since moving in last Nov I've had numerous issues. The first being parking concerns which there are many. Friends have limited options available and permits per month are extremely limited and then require you to pay a day fee. Living on the side road was very noisy and distracting. During the yr management changed and details upon entering were different than when I left. I was told putting up a wall mount was no issue and to just patch holes. That was not the case on move out inspection. Also the apartment was left in near perfect condition and yet I was still charged carpet change fees, cleaning fees etc. I would not recommend anyone to move into this facility. The management also does not return your phone calls or messages in any timely fashion. It's unfortunate bec the property itself is beautiful. I would highly recommend The Verge as things were much more organized and staff was dependable. Hope this helps the next renter. read more

Our storage unit got broken into Thursday the day of thanksgiving . Called office next day Friday when we noticed. And they did nothing about it. Only fixed the storage door. Do not use their storage unit here. The lady at the office said there are no cameras in the parking garage or storage units. Only camera is on floor 1. They need to fix this issue. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost. The management team is terrible. This complex is poorly managed. I've never encountered a team that has this terrible of an attitude. They act as if we're beneath them. They don't return emails or phone calls. You will never be able to get in contact with the property manager Shaina. She is always out of the office. The property rinks of urine and pet feces. They ripped the carpet out of one of the hall entry's and never replaced it. The garage stairwells lights have been broken for months so you can't see anything going down them at night when the elevators are down. When someone falls they'll say they didn't know. The elevators are dirty, look down at the flooring. Theres no real cleaning done here. The property is shared with formerly homeless housing so the police are always here. They use our amenities and park. The door entry's from the garage into the building have been broke for over a year. I'm at 6161. The cleaning crew is clearly overwhelmed. They need help. You will be paying 70-80 dollars a month for trash. Water heating fees. Gas fees to heat the water. They don't tell you this when you sign the lease. They nickel and dime you for everything. Residents let their dogs pee in the amenities area and nothing is done about it. There is no communication from management. It would be nice to see the property manager walk the property and see for herself. You'll never see this property manager she's just as rude and entitled. The 5 star reviews they hand out a flyer for you to leave one so do your research. Don't be fooled. You will regret it. If you want to be treated fairly and not feel like you're working for them look elsewhere. There's nothing luxury about this place. They need to replace Shaina and Jacob. Moved in when it was brand new and moved out after the money grabbing Greystar took over. Dog poop and pee EVERYWHERE. There were so many dogs that the entire building sounded like a kennel. Want to get some sleep? Forget about it. Loud parties every night by out of control, entitled residents, who use the pool after the posted hours, and scream down hallways and use their apartments as a nightclub.With No security, and a homeless guy that roams the halls, because, according to the Leasing Office, he's harmless and just thinks he's a security guard...WTF? Disgusting parking garage where the access gates never work (one of the two gates was broken for a year).Residents throw their trash everywhere, except for the trash chutes, which are inconveniently located in only one area so you have to walk forever to take out your trash. Sometimes the trash rooms are so full of boxes and furniture that you can't even open the door. Even though there is a dog park and pet relief area, lazy residents let their dogs crap and pee in the garage and halls, trash rooms, everywhere... It's supposed to be a non smoking property, but everyone smokes and the manager Shaina is absolutely USELESS at doing anything in her job description. The neighbors above me had a flood and I had no access to my bathroom or shower or bedroom for a week. I was offered no compensation, and was told everything would be perfect when I returned ( I had to stay somewhere else while the work was being done and I had to pay for it). When I returned my place was a complete mess and Shaina did absolutely zero. Avoid this place like a plague. read more
