Wow. I've often been rather unimpressed with other computer repair places, but these guys really know their stuff! Even better? They saved my freelancing skin on short notice! Long story short, one computer of mine was out of service, so I was using a backup. The backup computer then wound up with a fatal OS error, which prompted me to try to fix it as best I could. No dice. Stuck with zero computers and no way to work, my b/f was kind enough to text me the info. for Voree based on their perfect Yelp reviews. (I had no easy way to do this myself; my mobile web decided to give me the finger at about the same time.) Brought my computer in the morning after this fiasco started, and explained the situation. After being forewarned that it may be a bit more complicated than expected, they fixed everything beautifully several hours later, and the computer has been working wonderfully for me as a result! My father runs a computer repair business in Oklahoma, so I never take my computer to anyone else. However, I was in a bind and needed to get a part installed, and due to some bad screws in my computer I needed to have a shop take care of the problem. Voree did an amazing job. I did not feel ripped off by their service charges (I almost always feel ripped off by computer repair). They did not mess around or try to upsell. I dropped my part off at noon and I swear by the time I got home the guy had called and said things would be ready in half an hour. Wow, was I even going to the same place as all the rest of these reviewers? My computer got a virus Tuesday night. I brought it to Voree first thing in the morning Wednesday and was told that the laptop repair guy would be out of the office for a while, so I would receive a diagnosis on Friday or Monday at the latest. I was annoyed that it would take so long, especially since he was in the office that day, but agreed. Fast-forward to Monday afternoon, when I call to check in and am told that they "haven't touched" the computer and would have it diagnosed "probably by Tuesday or Wednesday." Waiting four business days for your computer to be fixed is annoying enough, but when you know someone's going to be out, you should be able to give them an accurate estimate of when the work is going to be done. I didn't feel like letting my computer collect dust at Voree for another week, so I picked it up and took it somewhere else. They were pretty apologetic and offered to waive the diagnostic fee next time I came in, but I don't anticipate coming back here. read more

Expensive and Slow! I brought my laptop in as it wouldn't boot. It took 2 business days to diagnose and 70 dollars up front. Turns out it was a busted hard drive and nearly two weeks later and nearly daily phone calls, I still don't have my laptop. They're probably fine for business IT, but I won't bring it here again and will look for another shop that is surely faster and cheaper. read more

Not sure what all the hype is about. I took my computer in after it blue screened. It seemed like it had a virus issue and based on the reviews here I took it to Voree. After their diagnostic, they said they were certain it was not a virus and was most likely a problem with Norton AV. They suggested buying some other AV software, at a hefty premium. I suggested that maybe a reinstall would make sense, given that I'd been using the Norton AV for nearly 2 years. They seemed peeved that I wasn't taking their request and then really, really, tried to nickel and dime me. Because they said that Norton was the problem, I asked them to disable it to save me the hassle. At that point they suggested that they could do it but it would cost me more. In short, they wanted to charge me 30 bucks just to disable the software. I was already paying the diagnostic fee of 69 dollars, I figured the simple act of disabling the problematic software wouldn't be a big deal. On their side though, they felt is was worth charging me half of the value of their quote to do the complete repair and removal of the software. In the end, it just felt like their diagnostic charge of $69 was a hook used in hopes of getting much more out of a customer. And, since my system didn't have big issues, they tried every way they could to increase their billable. Also didn't experience the lightning quick turn around. They were just within their quoted 48 hour window, even though I asked to get this as fast as possible. Maybe I just got them at a bad time, because it seems I experienced the exact opposite of every post on here. read more

A while ago, I tripped over my power cord and my laptop took a little spill off of the table. I was shocked to find that it still seemed to be functioning perfectly, no damage to the hard drive or screen! I thought I'd dodged a bullet until I went to plug it in to the AC adapter and found that it no longer fit into the socket properly, and kept falling out. I found Voree through their otherwise stellar Yelp reviews and thought that it was finally time to get this problem FIXED! When I gave the laptop to Tim and explained the problem, right away as he looked at it, he told me that the problem was likely due to a structural issue with the power jack, and that while actually replacing the whole bottom plastic shell of the laptop was the only way to restore it to as-new condition, that was a costly repair that most people didn't need. Instead, he said, they would likely be able to modify the plastic and reinforce the jack so that it would be able to plug in and charge like it did before. He said typically that sort of repair would cost anywhere between $90 and $135 dollars. This seemed reasonable to me--since it's past the level of repair I can do myself--so I agreed and gave them my credit card info for the $69 diagnostic fee, which goes towards any further work they do on your machine. I dropped my laptop off on a Friday afternoon. I had a link from an email right after I left that let me check on the status of the laptop. On Tuesday, I received a message from Tim detailing exactly what was wrong with the power jack, and exactly what he would do to fix it. He said that once I approved the repair, the final fee would be $110--well within his off-the-cuff quote. I greenlit the repair, and my machine was ready to pick up the next day. Overall, I would highly recommend Voree and will be going back to them should anything else go wrong with my laptop (knock on wood!). They were extremely professional, kept in constant contact with me throughout the repair process, and deliberately did a repair that would save me money. If you're looking for an honest and communicative laptop repair place, it seems to me like you can't do better than Voree. read more
