Please don't sign your children up for this sport, especially not at this gym. Unless, of course,…read moreyou hate them and want them to hate themselves for the rest of their foreseeable future. When I was a kid, I did gymnastics here. It was my entire childhood. Everyone I knew, I knew them from MEGA fun and fitness. I saw my coaches more than my parents. Every single day I was at the gym (5 days a week by the way), I was only put down and scolded, with the excuse that it would make me better, stronger. But I knew I could never be good enough, or strong enough. I could always do more, but it would never be praise-worthy. After far too many years of this, I quit. It was the best decision I ever made. But the experience still affects me. I'm an adult now, but I still have dreams about Coach ***, and I wake up sweating every time. But maybe the blame can't be placed on someone who is unaware of the trauma she is creating for young girls like me. I wish I could go back and undo it all. Or tell my parents to not let me do it. But I can't. So all I hope is that this message reaches one mom who just wants the best for her daughter(s). This is not the best you can do for them.

They seem to be building on more skills than what we were seeing through the city. The only down side is there are quite a few simultaneous classes going on, so it can be tricky getting a seat to watch some weeks.

I have used their fitness facilities. In my opinion, their cardio is great and the weight machines, which were updated last year, are also very good. I like the quiet, non-assuming atmosphere. For the most part, patrons keep to themselves and that is fine. The gym is basically clean and they provide wipes to clean the machines after using them. I like that. The reason for the lower rating is that for all the years I have been a member, there are but a handful of, actual, friendly staff members. A few great ones that go back a long way, but for the most part, the staff is not welcoming or at all personable. So, do not join for the customer service, just come for the good equipment and cleanliness. And one big thing is that during the summer, the ac is never adequate! Adding ceiling fans would be a welcome addition to the workout facility!

Oh boy. Where to even begin??…read more I started coming to CF Novi almost 5 months ago and have been completely and utterly blown away by the impact this gym has had on my health and well-being. I had no prior athletic experience when I started coming to CrossFit Novi and when I would go to the gym I wouldn't stray further than the treadmill. The coaches here made me feel 100% comfortable and at home immediatly. They spent a TON of time, care, and attention teaching me the basics and have been great about scaling/customizing the workouts to my level. I cannot stress enough just how great these coaches are. With their help so far I've lost 30 pounds and have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge, strength, & new skills (hoorayyyy wall kick ups and double-unders ). Their patience and possitivity has been outstanding. Other perks - The box is big, beautiful, and super clean, they have showers, & the people who go here are all extremely pleasant. Never thought I would say that I love a gym but I really do love this place!

I ended up going twice and I was extremely pleased both times. The coaching was very good and diverse. We had an olympic complex WOD that was coached by an oly-trained coach. He even spent time with me after at my request to break down my form a little bit. I felt very welcomed by both owners and the membership there. It's clean, organized and the attention to form was appreciated. I highly recommend.

Don't be fooled, being an Olympic gymnastic medalist does not necessarily qualify somebody to coach…read moreyoung athletes in the sport of gymnastics. For 5-years we shrugged aside inconsistent communication about scheduling, late notifications of meet changes, a revolving door of assistant coaches, lack of attention to details in execution, coaching outbursts during meets. We were willing to shrug it aside, because we were committed to the gym, to the head coach and to the friendships that had been built in our 5-years at the gym. In March our 5-year commitment at TGGA was abruptly ended, and we have now moved to a new location. A few weeks after starting at the new facility, my daughter who had never been at another gym said, "Mom, I never see the coaches on their cell phones!" "Mom, I didn't know it was possible to go through practices without getting yelled at." "Mom, Coach spent soo much time with me tonight on bars working to get my dismount release point right!" But that is the new gym. Background: We were told on a Saturday in March that our daughter was an example of the kind of gymnast they wanted at their gym. "we wish we had five girls like her". On the Thursday, we were kicked out of the gym with no explanation, and no return to our cell phone calls or emails. At the Saturday meeting we were discussing the final meet for our daughter's season after rehabilitation from injury, and we were told that we would have the option to attend the Level 4 and 5 State Meet or to participate in an in-house mobility meet that we offered to pay for. On Monday, 5 minutes prior to practice, the Level 4 and 5 parents at the gym were all sent an email that there would be no opportunity of a state meet or mobility meet for any of the Level 4s or 5s and effective immediately the women's development program at the gym was canceled. This was delivered without explanation to the girls/ gymnasts or to the parents as to why that decision was made. This was done six weeks before the end of the competitive season. We asked about that decision via email as it was not aligned with our meeting 2 days earlier, and asked why the decision to cancel the Women's development program was being done six weeks prior to the end of the competitive season, and asked for a 30 day evaluation of the gym's switch to the Excel program and how that would affect our daughter's development. No response. On Thursday, six days after being told the gym wanted five more athletes like our daughter, we received a phone call mid practice asking that our daughter get all of her stuff and leave at the end of the practice and not come back. She was not to be told until we got home and she was expected to leave without saying goodbye to the girls that she been training with for five years. That's right, She was supposed to leave her gym of 5-years without saying goodbye to her friends she spent 12+ hours a week with for 5-years! That night the head coaches left practice early without saying goodbye to an athlete they had been training for five years. No explanations were emailed to us as to why this decision was made. (There had been No attitude issues. No lack of work ethic, no issues ever reported by the gym. Only positive comments about our daughter) We were not informed of the reason why the decision was made to cancel the Women's development program in season, and no acknowledgment of the five years that Coach Tatiana had spent with our daughter developing her from the time she was five years old to being thrown out of her gym at the age of 11, after being told FOUR DAYS prior that they wish they had five more athletes like her at the gym. Our daughter was devastated. That gym, that team was her heart and soul for 5-years and it was ripped away without warning. She wanted to know what she did. She wanted to know why. So did we. This level of unprofessionalism, lack of proper communication, and lack of care for the athletes is unconscionable and out of nowhere. Completely unexpected. Do not be fooled. Do not be lulled into complacency with this gym. Do not think that it's now changed, and it's going to get better. There are many more girls who have moved on over the last five years, girls that we watched leave, and thought oh it'll be better for us... (some of whom had previously left 5-Star reviews here during their honeymoon phase) Well, things are changing. Things will improve.... they probably won't at TGGA, but they will for us as we move on. So to all of you: good luck. Get out. Don't be fooled.
