The internet is not reliable. Slow, cuts out, then have to reconnect. Calls are handled by AI like every one else.

Extremely Disappointed with Spectrum's Customer Service…read more I am extremely disappointed with the customer service we received from Spectrum. In my experience, they have shown very little concern for their customers and even less willingness to make things right. Our Spectrum service was not working properly most of the time, so we canceled our service. Despite canceling, Spectrum continued charging us a monthly fee. We called numerous times to let them know we had canceled and asked them to stop billing us. Each time, we were essentially told there was nothing they could do and that we still had to pay the bill. I even asked them to look at our account usage because there was no usage showing, which should have at least prompted someone to investigate the situation. Instead, they refused to help. That kind of response is extremely frustrating when you are simply asking a company to review an account and correct what you believe is an incorrect charge. Unfortunately, this isn't the only experience I've had with Spectrum's customer service. Our neighbors are 90 years old who currently have Spectrum service Their internet stopped working, and their daughter, who does not live locally, called Spectrum for help. She was told the reason the service wasn't working was because they needed upgraded equipment. Spectrum then mailed the new equipment directly to these elderly customers. I went over to help my neighbors because they are 90 years old and obviously shouldn't be expected to figure out new equipment and installation on their own. I had trouble getting it set up, so I called Spectrum's customer service for assistance. I specifically asked the customer service representative, "Do you do this to everybody? These people are 90 years old and don't know how to set this equipment up." Her response was essentially that they don't know how old their customers are. That response says a lot about the company's approach to customer service. I'm not saying Spectrum needs to know every customer's age, but when you're dealing with elderly customers who clearly need assistance, there should be some level of compassion, patience, and willingness to help. Between continuing to charge us after cancellation, refusing to investigate the lack of usage on our account, and the way they handled our elderly neighbors who were given new equipment they couldn't reasonably install themselves, I have been extremely disappointed. Spectrum needs to do better. Customer service should mean actually helping your customers--not simply telling them there's nothing you can do. Based on my experiences, I would not recommend wasting your money on Spectrum.

I called up on Tuesday and spoke with a very nice lady and talked about prices, options, etc. I decided to go for it and set up an appointment for the following Saturday afternoon. She then gave me some good advice about dealing with Dish Network and some of the things they might try to pull to rope me in to a contract, which I found to be pretty useful advice. The day of my appointment came and I got a call asking if they could reschedule for the next day, to which I told them I couldn't be there the following day. They said that was fine and they would be out at the window they had given me, and sure enough they were. There was no canceling my appointment like the last person had happen to them. The installer was a young kid who seemed like he had just started out in the business, but he was friendly and we chatted a bit as he was installing everything. After some surveying the area around my house he installed the dish and ran a totally new cable to my bedroom, and then hooked everything up. All in all it was a pretty painless experience, and I would definitely use them again in the future should the need ever arise.
