Jay has fixed our exterior doors that weren't contacting our weather stripping and sealing properly, as well as adjusting and (where necessary) replacing the interior doors that were poorly hung by the previous owner. He fixed our custom-built pantry shelves, in addition to adding another shelf, replaced baseboards, fixed an accent wall, added shelving to our laundry room, and installed overhead garage storage for us. The best thing about working with Jay, was that he had good input for us in helping to figure out what we wanted to do with our laundry room and to fix the broken design on our accent wall. When he was trying to figure out where to hang our clothes rack in the laundry room, he had the foresight to measure my arms to get a good sense of where to hang the rack since my wife wasn't around to say exactly how high she wanted it installed. Despite their quote being approximately 25% higher than competitors, I felt confident that the quality of workmanship would justify the price. Unfortunately, my experience did not align with those expectations. The crew installed approximately 100 defective pickets along with several problematic posts. I was told their installers had significantly more experience than those at other companies, which made it all the more frustrating that such obvious defects weren't caught and avoided during installation. While they did return to replace the posts, I was left wondering why those materials were used in the first place. To make matters worse, a 6x6 post was also questioned -- some professionals claimed it was acceptable, others said it was clearly defective. FIRST FENCE did eventually replace it, but not without multiple visits and conversations. While the fence does look good now, the process was far more stressful than it should have been. One of the main reasons I hired a premium company like FIRST FENCE was to avoid the headache of micromanaging a project. Unfortunately, I ended up doing just that. EDIT: Less than a year since install and already having gate failure in a low traffic area. The company is trying to charge $300 to repair the fence. apparently a gate used 2x weekly is too much and the gate is for just looking at and not using.
