There was no brusque staff when I arrived at Dr Oteros. It seemed the common goal was to put me at ease. A dentist office no less! I have been to enough doctors visits to know that having a staff like that means only one thing. They like who they work for and will go out of their way to do things as professionally and confidently as they can. They really like where they work and they really like who they work for. This is not your average dental office. I can't think of any doctor's office I have been to that even comes close to the natural, pleasant feeling of Dr Otero's office. It's not difficult to figure out. I had long given up inspecting anything pleasant and had gotten to the point point where I dreaded going to see any doctor. Not a happy place to be, the waiting room. Always ended up where I felt like I was a bother to them. Never going out of their way to be particularly nice or pleasant. Seems like expecting too much. After my first meeting with Dr Otero, it became clear to me that his goal as well as his staffs, was to ensure that I was comfortable and address any questions or concerns I may have . I googled a local dentist, Dr. Sweeney (who I HIGHLY recommend) and he quickly determined that I needed a root canal. He arranged for me to see dr. Geisler who took me the very same day lucky enough. I could not have been in better hands. Young woman at the front desk was very helpful in helping me with my dental coverage and Heather the nurse put me great ease. Dr. Geisler came in and after a couple test determined that I did indeed need a root canal and long story short, she worked fast and efficient and at no time was I ever in any discomfort. After the Novocain wore off, I experienced absolutely no discomfort. The relief from the inflammation under the crown was unbelievable. If you are in the Wilmington and Carolina Beach area, whether you are a resident or visitor, I highly recommend Dr. Geisler and Dr. Sweeney. I reside in the city of Philadelphia Pennsylvania where there is a plethora of amazing hospitals and doctors and I would rank these two up there with some of the top docs in the Philadelphia area.

I was stunned at the cost and got a second opinion from a nearby periodontist. They saw me the day after I called and extracted the tooth for less than the evaluation was to be at Dr Cook's office. I advise to get a second opinion.

I should have known…read morefrom the first interaction with the "dr" and I use that term loosely, that this was not the place to be. Made an appointment due to a couple broken teeth and wanting to see what else needs to be done to get back on track with my oral health. Never even looked in my mouth on the first visit just x-ray and then said I need 3 teeth extracted. Made the appointment for the next week and that was a mistake. The office has too many things going on for just one "dr" I could hear the chaos in the background of him trying to direct all his employees while he was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. There was no one else in the room while he shattered my teeth and had to leave me with a mouth full of tooth particulates while he ran out to get more instruments. Totally unprofessional. He ended up breaking the upper tooth and leaving the rest in the socket without saying anything and caused extreme pain for a week until I could be seen at another dentist. They took more x-rays and confirmed that indeed the bottom of the tooth was still in the socket and sticking above gum line. The size of the tooth he then pulled was much larger than expected and what a relief it was to finally have it out. Highly recommend O2 Dental group!!! They were amazing and will return there. DO NOT GO TO COASTAL SMILES PLEASE LISTEN TO ME AND SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN
