I used to love coming to get my exams here but over the last couple of years things have changed. They seem to be pushing Dialation exams more and more. It almost feels they get a commission if they up-sale a Dialation exam. When I went in the first person I spoke with asked if I was interested in getting a Dialation and I said no and I signed a paper stating that I did not want it. When the dr called me in that's the first thing she asked me if I was sure that I didn't want Dialation. I told her no thank you. She proceeded with the exam and I feel since she didn't get the answer she wanted she began to try and scare me into a Dialation exam. She began to tell me that even though my eyes were doing great I could lose my eyesight in just a few years. I still said no thank you and before I left her office she told me again that I should reconsider. Im a grown man and I am fully aware of the procedures I need to have done. I am also capable of making my own decisions on my health and I am not easily coherence into doing things against my will. I just felt very uncomfortable with all the tactics that the doctor used to try and convince me. I left her office feeling that I no longer wanted to return to wecare optometry. I think they should reconsider their tactics because more people will leave. If a patient says no 1 time that should be it end of discussion. I don't need to be scared into an exam or shamed if I don't take that exam. Office staff seemed overwhelmed and unfriendly. They couldn't provide an estimated delay time and simply told me to sit down and wait to see if the appointment before mine showed up. The intake process was just as bad. Overall, a very frustrating experience. I'd skip this place. read more

I do not recommend. I did not have a positive experience at this location. The lady that works at the very front desk is rude. I came in for an appointment for my child. The office is not child friendly. The front staff was not child friendly. The front office lady was rude from the get-go then tried to say she had to reschedule my son due to his age. Which the lady behind her told her was not the case. They weren't able to verify my insurance in a timely manner but neglected to tell me that was what I was waiting for until I asked why I was waiting because it was 20 min past my appointment Time and there was nobody else there. Overall, if you have small kids I would recommend going elsewhere. If you're making a quick turnaround appointment and not paying out of pocket I would also recommend going elsewhere. read more

The optometrist is very knowledgeable and great to work with. However, his staff was unreliable and uncommunicative. I called four separate times to deal with a billing discrepancy. I was assured that I would receive a call back to discuss this issue four times. They never called back. I actually just ended up paying the fee because I was deploying and couldn't delay anymore. DO NOT GO HERE. Picked up an eye infection from an exam conducted by W. E. (Really do not care) Optometry. They wanted to charge me for a medical exam for a eye infection I got from their office. Took two weeks for a set of contacts to come in and then did not schedule a follow up appointment to see if they fit or actually worked like every other optometrist I have been too for the past forty years. When I arrived she was very pleasant and she gave me a thorough eye exam. The girls at the front desk were very friendly. I recommend this friendly office. I have been a patient of WE Optometry for approximately 8 years, and I usually love it. Easy to make an appointment online, and the staff is usually very friendly., This was when I paid cash for my exams. This year, I decided to use my Vision insurance. Wow! What a difference. This is the reason for 3 stars instead of 5. First thing... I have decent vision insurance, and I confirmed that I had coverage prior to scheduling my appointment (2/17/2022). I scheduled a same day appointment, so I understand the confusion on this day. The ladies at the front insisted that they could not find my coverage. I could see that things were going no where, and I needed to get back to work, so I rescheduled for this week (2/24/2022). I called yesterday to make sure that the insurance confusion had been resolved, and after talking to someone that said once again that they couldn't find my coverage, another person got on the phone and said that they did see that I was covered for my eyeglass and contact exams and that we were good for my appointment. I arrive on time for my appointment, and once again, problems with my insurance. They can enter my exam, but not my contact fitting. I told them, I am covered and I'm not sure why she was having a problem. I asked, am I not going to get my exam until this is resolved and she said that is correct, I watch a patient who was scheduled after me go in. Long story short, they finally confirm my insurance (again), and I get in an hour after my appointment time. I finally got in to see the optometrist and he tried to explain (mansplain) the issue, He is nice and a great optometrist (as always). Once the appointment was over, to add insult to injury, I had to sit and wait for the claim to process BEFORE I could get my prescriptions. BTW...no copay due. Really contemplating if this is going to remain my choice of offices for my vision care. If I stay, and have insurance, I'll have to plan at least 2.5 hours for an exam. read more

I had Dr. Cherry who was filling in at the location on HWY 281 and TPC parkway. She was running behind about 30 minutes so, I walked around target while I waited which was okay. The front receptionist called when it was my turn to be seen. I was so pleased how thorough Dr. Cherry was listening to my answers from her questions and really taking the time to come up with the best prescription for my contacts and glasses. She explained the numbers for astigmatism and how one eye may seem blurry when the other is covered but, when you put the two prescriptions together that is what brings the picture into focus. I have been having issues with my contacts not being able to focus on signs clearly for several years. This is the first time I can see 20/20 now! I see why she was running behind prior to my appointment but, she was well worth the wait! Hands down the best annual eye exam in years!! read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible experience!! I will 110% NEVER go back here again, and will be sure NONE of my friends or family go here. First, I had to wait over FORTY minutes just to be seen, EVEN THOUGH I had a scheduled appointment! When I asked the doctor about this after I was FINALLY seen, she offered NO apology or explanation (meaning this is regularly practice here). If you have a lot of time to waste, that might work for you, but my time is far too valuable to waste. Isn't the whole point of having an APPOINTMENT so that you actually get SEEN at that time, anyway?? Secondly, I get sent home with one prescription, and then when I go t order my contact lenses online I get emailed an entirely different prescription than what I was sent home with. When I asked which one is correct, they tell me the one they emailed to me was. When I asked why I was even sent home with a separate prescription they literally tell me "I honestly don't know. It could of [sic] been an old one." When I checked this newer prescription against one that I received at my previous optometrist, it shows that my vision has gotten better--which at my age, and with my astigmatism, is not possible. Next, when I called to make my appointment I made it under the impression that this was part of Target optical. Wrong--their office is simply located within their building, but is NOT Target optical. And lastly, they are INCREDIBLY overpriced for an optometrist office/visit. I could have received SIGNIFICANTLY better service AND an actual accurate prescription if I had gone elsewhere, for a BETTER price. Because of the inaccuracy in my prescription I'm now left to see ANOTHER optometrist to receive the correct prescription. At least now I know I'll get an accurate prescription for a decent price, and be seen in a respectable and timely manner. read more

My daughter and I are seen for eye exams at the 281 Stone Oak location,right outside of Target. We've seen all three optometrists Dr. Cherry, Dr. Williams and I cannot recall,the other doctor's name. I am surprised by the bad reviews! I called and got an appointment for the next day, I showed up and I was seen immediately. The employees were very friendly and the Dr was excellent, she did the exam thoroughly and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need or want. I was out of there in 15 minutes with my contact lens prescription in hand! I already ordered and received my contact lenses online from another company using my prescription from here. Had a terrible terrible experience! Have left 3 voicemails in 3 weeks to get my verified contact prescription (they let me try them for a week with the instructions to call after a week if I like them, and they would verify the prescription so I could order them). I have showed up in person one week after trying to call during my lunch break and was scolded by staff for not calling (which was infuriating because the week before I had called & left a voicemail, had called again and not gotten anyone, so decided to head there in person). During the last voicemail today (this is now Monday for week 3), I even verified to make sure that my voicemail went through by listening to it with their press-1 option. The physician is amazing though. She had no idea!! She walked by when I was trying to explain to the staff it'd been 3 weeks, and if they had any testers. The staff tried to charge me a $20 fee but the doctor stepped in and stopped it, since she felt awful about her staff. She say me in the room and got me contacts, and double checked my eyes. She was so wonderful and helpful. I had to give 3 stars because the doctor is so worth it, but staff difficult. read more

Very disappointing. Big waste of $165. The front office staff was polite. However the doctor assigned was quite unprofessional. I wanted to try contacts, so that is extra because it is supposed to require extra time and instruction. She QUICKLY, and I mean QUICKLY ran me through the "which is clearer, A or B". She put contacts on counter and said, here, put those on. No instruction, no explanation, nada. I had to ask if there was a case I could take home so I would have someplace to store the contacts at night. I also had to YouTube how to take the contacts out, clean them, etc. My vision was worse with the contacts than without. So I returned in a few days and went through the whole fast "which is clearer" routine but still could not read with the contacts. I was told that's as good as it gets. NEVER. Hate that I spent that much money. Should of rolled down my window and thrown it out. read more

BEWARE!!! I got eye exam here...doc said i needed my eyes dilated since it was a while since having eyes checked. When she used the drops in my eyes it burned like crazy! After leaving from there my eyes were in pain. The whole day my eyes and head hurt, and my vision was real blurry and knew something wasn't right. I went to my pcp the next day because i still had the horrible headache, painful and red eyes and blurred vision, he said my eyes were infected. I ended up needing to pay for $50 antibiotic eye drops. I did call the optometry office back and told them that i caught an infection after eye exam and they said that the doc can check my eyes again. Then i thought to myself..why would i go back to someone that got me sick..I had these symptoms for 3 weeks and my eyes and vision has not been the same. My eyes are always feeling irritable and they always have a lot of the gooey stuff..My warning* if you go anywhere to have an eye exam..make sure they clean EVERYTHING and to don't put eye drops close to your eyelids. read more
