I went to sell my house nearly three years after install and learned from the city that Karolyi's had never pulled a permit for the AC, which they were required to do. The Grosse Pointes require a certificate of occupancy before you can sell your home, so this blocked me from selling my house until I got this sorted out. The city told me that I could not do this myself and I needed the company that installed the AC to pull the permits. I repeatedly contacted Karolyi's for weeks to get them to sort this out (emails, voicemails, after-hours messages, etc.). After two weeks finally got Steve, the owner. He informed me that he had never heard of the certificate of occupancy... which suggests they don't do much business in the Grosse Pointes. He told me that he would sort it out and then proceeded to not. I stressed the urgency of it and the forthcoming closing - and he told me that permits would take weeks and it was not possible. I asked him to call and talk to them, which is when he stopped communicating with me at all. I finally went to the city myself and they allowed me to pull the permits without them. Took me 20 minutes and I walked out with the permits. He either didn't care or had no idea about work in the Grosse Pointes at all. I emailed him and asked him to send a check for the $234 I had to spend for the permits and he has ignored that email and have received no further contact from him or his company. Seem to only care until they have your money. Would suggest never using them if you want them to do the full job and/or care about the follow-through. A real shame.

My fridge is under warranty, I have the parts, my warranty plan covers up to 500 for the repair, and he proceeded to drill me telling me to go out and buy a cheap fridge for 500 bucks.. why would I want a cheap fridge when I enjoy a nice fridge that's covered under warranty? This guy rude, unprofessional and I would not trust his reviews on Yelp. You cannot trust a service provider that has this kind of attitude RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: I never said such things. This man is a pathological liar. I don't use language like that but I can see he does. The company is not bankrupt that sells my fridge as it's a kenmore and I already have the parts. Just looking for an honest person to install them. I never asked for him to start being disrespectful to me. I'm sure you can tell by his response what kind of guy you will be dealing with.

Once he worked out a price, I was provided with informative pamphlets including the exact model numbers of the furnace & a/c that I would be purchasing. It's good to know so you can check out ratings & possible recalls. The end price was exactly what I thought it should be & had budgeted for. (It was also $1,500 less than the quote from Koz H&C). Atlas H&C is organized, they have great communication, high quality service & high quality products (Trane & Lennox). Also... I feel I should say, there's an added level of stress with home repairs when you're a single lady. There are far too many creeps & assholes out there. That's another reason I'm so happy I chose Atlas. Spiros & Nate were 100% professional & respectful. I don't have a single complaint. He had a younger guy helping him with this job. As of today, my brand new cental air unit is not working. I reached out to the owner to inform of my services that are not working, and he told me it was the blower in the furnace. In order to repair, he would like another service charge. Instead of him fixing the problem, he told me to call another company to see what they think the problem, but he is 95% sure it is the furnace. This guy is an HVAC guy meaning he does furnaces and cooling correct? I asked him over and over again to correct the problem, and he stated he is swamped and has other customers. I asked the owner, why wouldn't you fix my issue first since I called you first? As of today, I still have no air, paying others to view the situation on a new unit installed by the owner. At this point I will see you in COURT ATLAS Heating & Cooling! Avoid this place at all costs or it will cost you wasted time and money! He has $3000 of my money and I'm in my home sweating to death.

I have pictures, text and email communications (including those I sent that never received a response). Finally two 'bathroom techs' came to look at my complaints (different from the install techs) and found ALL my complaints were justified and they saw first hand all the issues I was continually complaining about.
