He was extremely responsive and always took the time to answer my questions and address any concerns I had. His team was efficient, professional, and completed the project two days ahead of schedule. They also went above and beyond by helping me with a few minor repairs and touch-ups that were not necessarily related to the painting project. I was especially impressed with the crew's respect for both my apartment and the building property. They were courteous and considerate throughout the project and made sure to leave my apartment clean when the work was completed. I did the "adult" thing & got three quotes. The other two were late, wish washy, cheaper but would take a long time. Anyone who has had work done or painting knows that having a bunch of strangers in your home sucks & creates chaos. Best to pay more to get the job done. Ross from Precision painting showed up on time (usually early during the job), had an industry discount with high-end Farrow & Ball paint, & left me his business card like a professional. He also knew about priming over different colors & surfaces & what my specific project needed for gloss levels, etc. Ross' quote was reasonable & he would be faster than the other guys. I confirmed with the woman holding down the organized office & decided to sign with them. Of course I added in wallpaper on the ceiling & crown moulding after I asked & Ross was calm about it, "yeah, we can do that" is not what I am used to hearing. He didn't second guess my wants as a woman & had capable men on hand to really make my dream room come true versus settling. We readjusted the quote to add in the new work & ALL FINANCIAL & TIME PARAMETERS WERE 100% CLEAR. There were no games around money or time- no saying he'd show up & then nothing. His crew were the best. They came early & were good people. Minimal mess. I have had all of this work done multiple times in the past with horrible messes & dust. I feel traumatized by past work but Ross + Precision Painting job was unbelievable. The room before was OK but boring & simplistic plus kind of messy & a bad paint job. I got recommended by a coworker who had her entire apartment done by them. I needed to redo my bathroom and add a stand up shower. They laid out my options to match my desires. I explained I was most likely selling the place within 5 years and did not want to invest too much. Jay gave me a lot of money saving tips that did not jeopardize quality. Best to tell them your budget and wishes and leave the rest up to them. Like DDC says "We can do $10,000 bathrooms or $75,000 bathrooms" they have skilled workers who are clean and polite. This is a story of betrayal of trust, deceit and theft…read more I would give zero stars if that would be available. Horrendous work would be an understatement for these "contractors". I hired them to give my house a facelift and everything that could go wrong certainly did. Right from the start and for two and a half months they sent us spiraling down and confused us as much as they could. We had an agreement to do the work one floor at a time. Came home from work in the second week of renovation to a completely wrecked house from top to bottom. Installed brand new beautiful hardwood floors wayyyy before its time. To make matters worse instead of covering the floors for protection and to prevent damage, they dragged tools, sheetrock, etc... through them for weeks which ultimately resulted in major damage. Oh, and by the way, the floors were also installed incorrectly. They leveled the subfloors by placing CARDBOARD BOXES underneath the new floors. Every time we step on the floor, they move and squeak. They claim to specialize in painting. Well... the paint job that I received was as horrendous as any other work done if not worse. A 3 year old could do a better job. The "painters" - 4 of them- were in my house for a full 7 days. Failed to prime the walls and only put one coat of paint leaving uneven streaks throughout the house. In the beginning of the job, they hung plastic walls around the house to limit the spread of debris. Well.... to hold up the plastic walls, they screwed them in to the ceilings, banister, doors, crown, and base  moldings. Toward the end of the job, we were told that they didn't guarantee that they would repair these holes. They installed a new powder room on the main level. Result??? Well, two walls were built crooked. The new plumbing for the toiled was placed too far from the wall. Now, when we sit down, our knees are pressed up against the wall. We replaced the light fixture that they put in and in the process uncovered that the electrical box was not properly secured. It was just thrown into the ceiling and int he process the managed to cut through a beam in the ceiling. We ended up firing them. Unfortunately too little too late. Have nearly 200 photos and videos as proof. By the way, did I mention that the partner of the owner of this business was a close friend of the family for nearly a decade and half and neighbors for 5 years??? Yep!!! But over a two and a half month period he quickly became an angry, hostile, condescending, greedy, careless monster. He felt the need to constantly elevate himself as a the "best" and he will defend his quality of work in front of any contractor. He never once asked us for feedback and whether we are satisfied with the job being done. Instead, he dismissed all our legitimate concerns. Over the two and half month period he must've been at the site half an hour to an hour at the maximum overseeing the job. The owner of this company didn't show up until 2 weeks prior to their termination. They asked for cash but only signed for 2 out of 7 payments. Each time I paid the partner and asked him to sign, he would take the money and run making up all sorts of excuses. If they give such horrible results to friends and family (NOT at a discounted price) What kind of work will they give you? My mistake for buying into their BS. My mistake for hiring these crooks. BE WARE of Oriah Decor and its owners - double incompetent crooks!!! I learned a hard lesson and will forever have the memory of these "contractor" butchers and the damage and poor quality of work on the walls and floors of every corner of my house. After 2 days, Spilotras clearly breached our contract by NOT performing in accordance to "spackling, sanding, priming...". They just wanted to slap paint on as quickly as possible without any prep work, then stopped the work altogether when we requested corrections. In an effort to salvage the project, we asked for a different crew, but they refused and demanded another $7,750! They had no intention to work with us to resolve the issues because they had our money. Adding more damage to us when we requested a refund, they claimed expenses of over $5,000 for 2 days of poor quality work. We asked for detailed accounting multiple times but were ignored because they likely cannot document them. If the total project was $15,500 for 2 weeks, how can the expenses be over $5,000 for 2 days? They realized these numbers were ridiculous, so they came back with another refund offer of $4,200 out of the $7,750 paid, which means they still want to keep $3,550 for 2 days ($1,750 per day!) of horrible work, from which we received no value but problems that we are paying another contractor to correct. We also incurred substantial expenses resulting from moving-in delays. Spilotras appears to feel that since they got our $7,750, they can be arrogant and not accept any responsibility for their failures. Instead, they chose to blame the customer and to extract profit from their failed performance.
