Best in the business. I've worked with a number of contractors/handymen, and Scott's combination of professionalism, thoroughness, and timely communication is unmatched. I recently hired him to complete a small painting project and mounting a piece of exercise equipment in my home gym, and he delivered fully on both. Scott offered to pick up the paint that was needed, which saved me some time. He also gave great advice on an unrelated project that came up as we were chatting when he had finished the work. He always explains his work and preparation when needed, which I appreciate. Moving is a pain... For someone like me who is not particularly handy and who likes a certain aesthetic and has a lot of art work - I needed help. Scott did A LOT!!! Starting with mounting various pieces of art work from metal sculptures, volcanic ash panels, various paintings and signed posters, installing large mirrors including a ballet barre area with a curtain to transform the area to ballet studio and bedroom, hanging different light fixtures, installing pull out drawers in my kitchen cabinets, the pot rack, mounting my new TV to the wall and not pictured was 2 pieces of furniture that he helped build in my bathroom and the odds and ends such as wall mounted hooks for the bathroom. Scott was upfront around estimating the project and level of effort, and he was an absolute pleasure to work thinking of details I never thought of such as height placement and where to anchor and center pieces. He also replaced the mounting mechanism in two of my paintings as they have been worn out overtime! He is very thorough with his work and aims to make sure that he gets the job done right and to your liking. Scott installed two window air conditioners in our new apartment. It is on the 5th floor and I wanted to ensure the units were safely and properly installed. Scott was very responsive and professional during all correspondence. He clearly explained his fees and answered any questions we had before and during. His work is excellent! He installed plexiglass panels on the sides of the air conditioners, which allows much more light into the rooms. It looks great and is sealed up well. I contacted Scott about removing two air conditioners from their windows, taking them for proper disposal, and installing a new one, and he was responsive, organized and patient. After getting an appt booked, Scott showed up right on time and was super friendly, hard working and helpful. Both the old units and the new one were installed with clear plexiglass on the sides and a metal angle across the top to allow the window to be open so it was a more in-depth process to remove and install them and Scott was diligent, focused and got everything done correctly and safely. Good-quality work, acceptable price level, very polite and co-operative. Scott`s "stand-out strength" in this context is _communication_: he not only speaks American English fluently and natively, he also talks politely and listens patiently on the phone _and_ communicates effectively via text messages. When it took some work to figure out what time-of-day on which day would work well for both me and Scott to get together to get done what I needed from him [TLDR: air-conditioner installation], that was not a problem at all for Scott [e.g. he did _not_ get frustrated or short-tempered that it took almost 15 minutes of talking to figure out for when to make our appointment], and when he was running very late due to traffic he let me know about that via text message so I wasn`t "left hanging" waiting for him and wondering where he is. Sometimes traffic is both unavoidable _and_ unexpected/unpredictable, and I _understand_ that... but without a status update, waiting for 40 or 45 or 50 minutes past the planned arrival time would have made me _very_ upset. With the status update which Scott _did_ provide, the traffic situation simply gave me some more time to clean my old A/C unit and/or to clean the window that the unit was planned to go into, so it was "time well spent" rather than "time wasted waiting impatiently and getting upset and/or worried". Highly recommended, especially for potential customers who [like me] desire/require a handyman who is able to _communicate_ [and to do so in understandable English, at that]. read more

I had a great experience with Scott, who was prompt, communicative and courteous. He came to take down a large curtain rod and patch and paint the screw holes. His work was fast and neat. When I realized that I had accidentally bought the wrong shade of paint, he chipped off existing paint so that I could use it to have the matching color correctly mixed. I highly recommend Scott. He replaced a leaking kitchen faucet and a few other small work in my home. He was very professional, efficient and informative. He clearly knew what he was doing and it even looked like he was enjoying the work. He actually encountered an extremely annoying problem in the form of difficult people giving him a hard time that was not his fault and which significantly delayed his arrival. I found Scott through a Yelp search. I originally asked him to hang 2 shelves in a certain date that he agreed to but ended up changing the date twice. Scott was so nice and easy going about the changes and was very flexible. I then asked him to also install my a/c and when he arrived, surprised him with a 3rd project. Scott agreed to do everything with a smile on his face. The shelves were a little more complicated than expected and he had to run out to the hardware store while he was here.
